yes you can load os 5.0 on 8330 if the website says so i loaded os 5 on a bb 9530 also all os 5 is available to 8330 and 9530 , only to poeple who have bis you can load os 5.0 by using forced loading method well for that what u need to do is -install os 5.0 - then download and instal bb desktop manager 4.7 or older try using as old bb usb drivers as possible , new drivers wont allow u to use this i use the bb drivers of mfi tool which work perfect ( in case anyone needs i can upload it ) - then remove battery from curve - open app loader and delete vendor xml file ans start app loader - connect device to pc it will show pin now reinsert battery , and in some time it will show "unkown" in place of pin no , at this time just press next , remember timing is very important , press next as soon as u see unkown then it will show you os 5.0 and ask if u want to update unless you do this it will not show you os 5.0 even if u use app loader as per post 1 you have to force bb to take os 5

I went ahead and bought this battery to my surprise it came to me in just 6days this was by far the fastest shipping i had ever from hongkong to mumbai so far so good the best part is , it is not as thick as i had expected it to be and even with battery my phone still fits well in my nexus one neoprene pouch so far so good , battery is doing wel i am using my phone intensively , watched 2-3 hrs of online videos and still phone is down by just 50% , rated time of phone over 3G/WIFI data is 3-4 hrs , so its doing decent job its worth a deal

though i agree that bb has that ease of use and easy setting up all accounts but still bb is doomed and even bb torch cannot save them and that good its happening to them without competition monopoly grows and thats what helped bb to reap people with BIS i mean common why should one have to suscribe to BIS to use data services ( its hacked now) Their phones are buggy if u put too much stress on them os 5 also didnt improve anything except for fancy gui bb is old , they need to rewrite their OS write from scratch and also implement better hardware to use better os Android is now offering same push services with a better os and a lot better hardware and i mean it i have seen storm 2 and 9700 os **** big time in front of android , there is just no match BB , u need to be reborn , rejuvination wont help at all

^^^ i know that speeds can never be consistnet and will fluctuate but evdo will have better coverage than 3g , coz of 800 mhz plus i have got better speeds using evdo , testing on speedtest. net than mtnl 3G

well people at reliance have now understood the vulnerability of giving evdo on 8330 and 8830 and now they have stopped giving it openly they wont give u unless u have a corporate connection or u have contacts for evdo they made it very very strict only on newer bbs and omh both of which are secured as of now

initial impressions suggest that its very well built and slider also is solid but then it doesnt have enough to take on android it isnt going to save blackberry , bb users will swicth to android

^^^ u know i will never go for it , if speeds are so pathetic i have read that in mumbai also similar speeds are there whats the point of 3G at such speeds and crappy services i would rather enjoy evdo with floor coverage in mumbai and better speeds

root is root people using incredible never rooted becoz of complex rooting methods and now god knows whats stopping them rooting has big big advantages - loading custom roms , thats why i love android - using wireless tether - very soon google is blocking all pirated apps , so again if u wanna run those free cracked apps u will need to root - for users like us who need roms . roms and more playing with phone will love root for people who believe in " why fix something which aint broke" , wont need root ever now there are plenty who like us , so they will root and there are plenty who dont wanna do anything on phone , so the wont root different users , different using styles plus u missed one very important point shadowmite and team were the ones who warned the warning was more particular for incredible than for evo reason been there is full nand unlock been made , which will not work on new 2.2 official for incredible

same here i also never found any difference with evrc b its more of a placebo effect nothing will improve voice call quality unless voice comes on evdo which will be coming soon , and we will be first to try it now !!!

donot try 786 reset on hero specially in ur case coz 90% of hero wont connect to qpst after that it will tell u roaming list error and after that it becomes very difficult to provision phone for data i have got such handsets and i know how tedious it is to set data on them without qpst
