kshah ji....even symbian was open source in the same way until few mnths back when symbian signed stopped issuing develpoers certificate for free....but people have come up with simple and alternative methods to open up ur symbian device to anything.... as far as android is concerned unlike apple they r not going to scrutinise the application before it makes upto the android market....so apple has the power to decide which applications go to app store...in case of android the developer can just post application on the android market ..so there has to b some sort of security measure by google....... one thing that symbian doesnt have till today is a proper application store like apple or android the download applicatio is still poor ....

We all know the problems and concerns people had with apple's nda . Some developers were stunned and shocked to see their own apps either denied for inclusion or banned from the store following inclusion. It seemed Apple had them by the short and curlies, and they did…..... But at least they’ve opened things up a bit since the early days. The NDA was dropped, and developers can now share and discuss code, and work together to develop some killer apps. i think android would be a truly ‘Open’ OS, and the applications developed would be cool and plentiful. store, and the killer switch in my opinion is a great idea… The only concern I have is I hope they use it smartly. Certainly a kill switch’s ultimate goal is to protect not only Google, but the valued users of their OS from inappropriate apps making their way onto devices. Certainly it’s always ‘better safe than sorry’, and having this safeguard in place is a must-have in my opinion. and now with the g1 devices reaching their impatient customers .....lets see how well does android fare ...and also lets see what betterment android market brings over app store

@ketan bro u will have to format ur 8gb card in fat 32.....and then put ur card in the adapter n ur phone will read it.......did u format ur card in fat 32??????........if u cant then as mentioned try it on some other comp/laptop....also if u have any other device around just check whether 8gb card is proper also i would like to add one thing.....palm os has a 32 bit limit due to which u see only 4gb of memory....ur device reads a 8gb card as 2 4 gb cards ......so thats y it will never show more than 4gb free space ( ie ifu have used 2gb it will show 2gb free....or if u have used 5 gb it will show 3gb free it will cycle through the 4gb) hope i m not confusing also for ur application u can use teallock....it password protects any file/folder ,any application also it locks down ur phone if u want...... and a lot more ( attaching enterprise version with hell lot of functionality) TealLock_Enterprise_7.02_solved.zip

the latest version of butler is really very good.... it helps with a lot of things... u can have an iphone style keygaurd unlock.... u can set LEDs as per ur liking etc....my phone flashes slow orange light in standby and flash fast green on miss calls or wen there is an incoming call.... it even alerts at set intervals for missed calls or unread messeages.... pretty cool.... i already mentioned that u can use butler also for thsi purpose....but those who jus want the led functionality can use serivice led ......it does the same hing what butler does but without the other functions to update from 1.04 to 1.07 simply go on to plam webisite....all instructions r given...use nv backup to back up all ur data and settings and u need to run the desktopupdater.exe file

was goin to mention about fat32 format......good one dhiraj also speaking of leds ......treo 755p is programmed to blink only to indicate alerts or charge status......but if u want it to blink to show the network status like in previuos treos or like htc devices heres an application it blinks green on connecting to network and flashes yellow when u loose network ( u can also use butler) ServiceLED.zip

I need to know few things.. 1 - THere is this green light that is on all the times is thta ok? 2 - I got the 8 Gb card frm SaddikBhai to transfer the data on to the card do i need to remove the card all the time put it in the card reader and transfer the data?? coz when i try doing it from Palm Quick install it shows NO card Found.. HOw do i do it... 3 - when im transfer data via card reader the same is not being recognised by the system aft some time.... kindly advice all the guru's wats to be done which green light r u talking about ??????? the led one????the led light is not on all the times... well your device very well supports 8gb card put in an adapter....though it will only show 4gb (pointed by dhiraj) but its fine as you could read and write on your card u can put data on the card by both the ways either put in a crad reader (if will b fast enough) or use usb 1.1 transfer of palm n use card reader to transfer data is your card recognised by the device .......in card info can u see your card details also does ur system recoginse the card properly

just use latest version of nokia pc suite it comes with communication centre appliccation.....u can transfer ur entire phonebook onto a specified folder in ur desktop........then either manage ur contacts from communication centre or as mentioned open them using microsoft excel........ also u can restore/edit ur contacts on your phone through the communication centre

bro when lg prada was launched last yr ...though it wasnt a smartphone but it had something in it which other fashion branded phones didnt have and that was the capacitance touchscreen .....only iphone had this thing that time and prada was released long before iphone.......this however raised the bar for fashion baneded phones n very soon u had similar samsung arman/nokia prismi in the market this time also they did the same thing a fashion branded phone with qwerty keypad ( i dont know of any fashion branded handset with a sliding qwerty),5mp,hspa,wifi....so again they raised the bar for fashion phones though what functionality it offers is still basic iwhen u comapre to smartphones and very far away from a standard smartphone and also overpriced bcoz of the logo "prada" but one thing i like is that the pevious one and this one they r just raising the standard for fashion branded handsets.......n i m very sure "copycat" samsung again will come out with something similar like last yrs samsung armani lg 9800 didnt have any thing innovative ....it was just a flop show

exactly even i turn off /on the radio rather than removing out the battery everytime..........also if atall i have to reset the device for anything then i use uninstall manager it has an option of soft reset .....so i dont have to take out my battrey and work gets done

dude have you tried ubuntu desktop edition . i am running it on my hp laptop and it's quite ok. you can order free CD from net which they ship in 2-3 weeks time even i like the concept of linux "open source" but seems in the name of open source there has been a lot of defragmentation of the os with ubuntu ,linpus and blah blah.....this is what is creating problems for the developers and all the incompatibility issues....thats the main reason wy this os dint took off the way it was predicted to.also if u see there r are so many softawares which just arent made for linux( who will waste their time in developing a seperate software for each version of linux) atleast if the os is open source it shoild b unified and not defragmented like linux. i mean in mobile phones also ( especially motorola) u have different versions of linux leading to a megre 3rd party support

well bro sorry to hear this .............well as said earlier u could get ur same number activated just go to web world well as far as the phone goes just 4get it.......if someone is kind enough to find it n return it to you or else no1 is goin to return it back.....i have lost two of my high end phones n never got them back ( just two days back in the gym i found someones n82 lying around all i did was call on his home number n return the phone to him....though i was never this lucky in my case )

well there have been a lot of people having trouble iwth the newer version of pc suite 7 ( i been one of them) ......n most of them had their problem resolved by uninstalling everything and installing version 6.85 also to uninstall the pc suite its better to use nokia pc suite cleaner rather than simply uninstalling also it turns out that most users have experienced problems with pc suite on their windows vista desktops/laptops

though this phone may never make it to the consumer market ....but one point to note in this concept phone is the nokia put up a 8mp camera ........it shows nokia has a lot of prototypes now ( nseies may b eseries and others ) with 8mp modules .....also this prototype envisions their future plans of having 8mp cameras in a lot of devices and looking at the past history they had one of the best 5mp mobile phone in the market for a very long time and it wont b long eneough that v will have a best 8mp cameraphone in market very soon (may b by this years end according to my sources)......watch out SEc905 and samsung innov8
