i think there is a way to fix this network problem issue with palm phones if we cud get a way to completely flash the radio 2 3 times it shud solve it i think the normal updates we doing isnt fully flashing the radio i m saying this coz there was a very similar issue with palm pre which was resolved by flashing radio/os multiple times

there is one way to use gprs on rgsm on 8830 8830 by defualt only has apn settings and no proxy settings but there are some apps for email etc which have an option to set proxy google for such apps and use it

if no soldering is involved then i dont think it will in any way affect the life of pcb all in all its a safe mod , worth trying btw we shud all not forget to give equal credits to gauravjc who brought out this mod in open and took the initiative to try on his touch pro

^^^ bro RGSM , and many other operators provide wap it is a proxy based internet just putting apn wont help , u have to feed other crucial details like proxyserver and port non proxy based services only apn does the job , but not in rgsm i think there is a way to put proxy settings in iphone , just google around

^^^ its extracted from evdo data card and luckily it supports voice/sms/1x data thru same channel for blackberry tour 9630 i have seen that people in usa sell the msl/spc codes , they have ties with sprint hence they can get spc/msl may be if some one is infleuntial with reliance blackberry dept , we can try our luck

wow atleast few people are getting to use evdo on handsets btw for 8130/8830/8330 all are evdo capable its showing 1x coz its having 1x prl to get evdo u need evdo prl just find spc of ur device ( google their are lot of tutorials ) use qpst and load evdo prl unlock nam so that it doesnt revert to 1x and u should be getting evdo on ur 8830/830/8130 as well hope that evdo prl works get the evdo prl from attachment here http://www.rimweb.in...me-on-palm-pre/ if still u not getting evdo inspite of this evdo prl then we have to extract one out of 9630 , which will be bit difficult btw while loading this evdo prl on my palm pre i also saw that initially i was getting evdo sign on my pre but no data then i had to force it to 1x and then only data worked so this means only bb devices getting evdo now

for me network wise reliance cdma is best have travlled to so many rural areas across country and have always relied on cdma for gsm i prefer vodafone for maharashtra atleast , best edge coverage among other gsm operators
