the gsm service has to be unlocked either by the provider or by other means then only u can use gsm service ... if reliance /tata are selling unlocked phones then its good enough . the sprint ones u get from sadikk are unlocked to work with any gsm network if u have tata data connection ( which would be bis/bes ) then it will work only in cdma mode airtel gprs will work in gsm mode
-
^^^ then y people having 8830 bought from reliance /tata cant use sim cards on their phones ....
-
^^^ ur cdam connection needs to be programmed .. but in order to use sim card your phone has to be unlocked by the operator or else u wont be able to use airtel sim card . but gsm /cdma cant be used simultaneously .... one connection a time ...to change connection u will have to go into settings and select gsm/1*rtt everytime u want to change
-
well 8830 is dual band phone it can run on both cdma and on gsm ( outside US) cdma has to be injected ( programmed ) in the phone there is a sim slot which will accept your gsm cards .
-
nothing to worry abt ... these stickers are there in many handheld devces ... its simple ...to open your device completely u will need to access the screw which lies beneath the sticker ....since that is tampering which nullifies ur warranty
-
ok ...got it working on 8830 . pre requisite u should have active tcp connection . should work on 8820 as well . next step ...to get blackberry maps/bb messenger working . if someone using bis /bes on reliance can send me the service book we can do something with cdma as well ... after talking to lot of techies i m confident enough that it is possible to get data connection on cdma bb as well on 1*rtt .... @sadikk what os is bb 8820 running 4.2/4.3 or 4.5
-
^^^ bb 8830 doesnt have wifi ...
-
^^^ on gsm blackberry it is possible by restoring a modded service book which will allow u to use bb browser and email client using your tcp sonnection . i got it working on airtel bb pearl of my frend . as far as cdma is concerned i m sure u must have seen the guide on mip settings . well that guy did it on evdo with nv editing hdr settings ... but it should work with simple ip also . if he got it working then there should be soemthing with simple ip as well . as far as 8830 is concerned wth gprs it might work , need to do some more testing .

Bluetooth Headset With Non-bluetooth Mobile
Mufaddal replied to ravi1ks's topic in Technical / OS related
yes it is very much possible ... there are stereo bluetooth adapters available . i had found few on amazon . i think even jabra has one but not sure the bluetooth adapters come with a 3.5 mm jack ..they can be plugged to any device ..ipod/mp3/phones with 3.5mm connection possible .. what it does is that the adapter recives the sound signal from device and then streams over bluetooth to bluetooth headset .... -
