^^^ honestly it doesnt need screen protector but still in case ur usage is rough n tough i will recommend it you can get 2-3 screen protectors pack from ebay.com usually hongkong sellers and they would cost you at most 100-200rs with shipping included , u can keep one and rest u can give / sell to others

so folks i have finally got htc touch diamond for my own use, so thought about writing a short review abt it , as many of u want to know about the handset these are my initial impressions of handset , will write a full blwon review when i get more time FIRST IMPRESSIONS : Coming from mogul this handset gets the "awe " , it is much more sleeker and lighter as compared to mogul the phone looks uber cool , and with TF3D it looks even more prettier the handset is a monoblock design and feels very solid in hand , no creaks or squeaks whatsoever BUILT QUALITY: The built quality is better than what gsm touch diamond offers the back of the phoen has matte finish and that allows for ot of grip the front of the phone has gorgeous 2.8 inch vga screen which just looks too good as compared to grainy screens of mogul or touch though still the phoen has a bit of plasticy feel to it DESIGN THE front panel has two call keys (recive and end) the home and back key and a scroll wheel which also functiosn as d pad with center "ok" button the side has two volume keys ( up and down are bit sunken ) the bottom has the standard mini usb port which is used for charge , headset . the best part is that sprint includes a mini usb to 3.5/2.5 mm adapter PERFORMANCE performance wise i m impressed he phone has 288 mb ram and 528mhz and so its faster than gsm variant and also mogul and htc touch though if u running touch flo 3d the phone responds slow , but there is little lag i m yet to progarm my phone for reliance ,so other features like call quality and data will be posted later these are my initial impressions , will post more detailed reviewwith pics when i explore my device more and btw FM radio and call recording works perfectly well in diamond

i was using it with default settings , and i dont think pre has call quality issue at all i used handset for more than 8 months

never had this issue call quality was perfect , no echo no noise try using ur handsfree and see if u get proper voice clearity then there might be an issue with ur ear peice

in omh profile use username password as your mdn ( 10 digit phone no )

well i did hard reset 6-7 times from bootloader and have reprogrammed handset 5-6 times if u do "clear storage" from bootloader it will restore meid if u do wipe from stock recovery it can restore meid wiping incredible from custom recovery ( like clockwork mod) will NOT restore your meid . So people who need to do hard reset , i sugges u root and wipe device from custom recovery , it will 100% keep your meid and pesn as it is LOL . one more reason to root the advantages of rooting just cant seem to grow !!!

For 8830 i advise you all to use MFI tool rather than unlock codes keep unlock codes for phones only which cant be done by MFI

well even in reliance full AKEY implementation with HLR for all calls will be coming soon so as to stop cloning or atleast put some breaks on it . As far as TATA goes , they have started fully with CAVE in most major cities and henceforth getting esn/meid registered with them needs akey

Reliance GSM 3G wont be coming to public before november december

there is a backup of entire nv in nand memory of phone so it has original meid and pesn and also other factory default values which can be restored at times of nv resets

welll thats coz the memroy locations must have been populated with old meid and the actual meid in nv is still the new one and pesn is new one so its still working

This is sort of a partial fix for people using bb 8830 /8130 /8330 now many people have an issue that when you switch the sim cards , or you remove / reinsert battery or many times switch gsm to cdma mode , you loose the anworm service books and inturn loose browser icon and then you have to re do loading service books again well there is a simple solution to this problem people using 8830 and 9530 just need to ---- go to Cdma service menu by dialing ## 6digit spc and press green call key ---- change the BB reg id to home sid , ie 14655 and save and reboot well what happens is , when u set REG ID TO Home SID , that time reliance pushes 4 service books of it Rworld OTA so you dont need to load anwron service books once u set bb reg id to 14655 , you will automatically see browser icon swhoing reliancemobileworld it opens rworld by default But only problem here is that , though after doing this setting u can always use browser in cdma mode , but for 8830/9530 , to use browser in gsm mode you will still need to load service books otherwise if u just use data in cdma , then you dont need to load service books again and again

btw what sms issue u talking about i used palm pre for 10 months and i never used it on 1.04 i started with 1.1 (qinray) --- > 1.2 ( official)----> 1.2.1( official) .....> 1.3 (official)-------> 1.3.5 (treo8 loaded it just to get diag mode and then updated to official) ----> 1.3.5.1 (official) ------> 1.4 (official)------> 1.4.1.1 (official) never did i see such issue i never used chinese roms much and most of times i used them only to create profile and data settings and then update to official rom qinray 1.04 is very very old rom and as such many new features of pre wont work no games , no yahoo , bugs etc etc kills pre experience may be try some qinray 1.3.5 or 1.4 rom create daig mode and create data settings and then use update app and update to 1.4.5
