New Features to the Pre: Oops I'm late and Automatic Calendar Context A member of Elevation Partners let slip during an interview two very cool features of WebOS, the software which will power Palm’s upcoming Pre handset. After describing Palm's "synergy" method of combining contacts and calendars from multiple locations (including LinkedIn, also a new feature we hadn't heard about before), McNamee gets into describing the new stuff: But better than that, it does stuff for you. So when you wake up in the morning, it has taken your calendar (if you ask it to) and downloaded the maps for your whole day, it’s downloaded the Wikipedias for the people you’re going to visit and the companies you’re going to see… Why is it on PCs you have to go and do all that? And when you’re late - get this - when you’re late it — remember, this things has GPS, it has a clock, and it has your calendar. So it not only knows where you are, it knows where you’re supposed to be and when, and so when it realizes you’re going to be late, it says “Hey, not only are you going to be late, but I can take care of it for you. I’ll send an email to your assistant or to the people in the meeting, which would you prefer? And oh, by the way, here’s the map.” To us, this is the beginning of a new wave. via precentral

these issues have nothing to do with win mobile 6 or your handset ...these are issues faced by many ppc/pda users according to microsoft yes IE can provide secure transactions but my advive is not to do secure transactions thru mobile phones can you pair your device with your laptop???? most common problem for this issue is com port conflicts ,make sure the com port for your bluetooth on your laptop is corresponding to com port on ppc otherwise u wont be able to use active sync read this set up guide HERE given by htc to active sync via bluetooth it also mentions the same thing about com ports yes you can use sk tools or pocket mechanic ...both these could be found in request software for win mo 5/6 thread

Even though we still haven't heard anything official from Nokia about the 5730 XpressMusic, that hasn't stopped Russian site Mobile Review to publish its preview of the device. From what we can see, thanks to the full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the upcoming device resembles one other model we've seen in the wild f - Nokia E75. This one, however, won't focus on enterprise but on younger audience who presumably use their phones for frequent texting and music. Aside from the mentioned keyboard, the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic also sports a 2-inch QVGA screen, GPS, 128MB of RAM, Bluetooth, 1,000 mAh battery, EDGE data, and a microSD card slot. Symbian S60 3.2 (Feature Pack 2) is running the show. As for the availability, the 5730 should start hitting European markets in April, when users will be able to grab it for 220 EUR (about $289). Announcement seems imminent…

Touchsreen Nokia N97 is the next step ahead with full QWERTY The Nokia N97 is most definitely one of the most loaded N-series devices out there, but that's not it's all about. The N97 is the first high-end device powered by the latest touchscreen Symbians S60 OS. And if the 3.5-inch touchscreen display is not enough for you, you can always slide-and-tilt it up so the large full QWERTY keyboard gets revealed. Tri-band HSDPA and quad-band GSM ensure world wide roaming, but the new Nokia N97 also boasts 32GB of internal memory, a 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, touch-enabled Nokia Maps with a digital compass, an accelerometer for auto screen rotation and a proximity sensor for auto screen turn-off during calls. The 16M color 3.5-inch touchscreen TFT display has a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels that should meet all your handheld widescreen multimedia needs. Of course all the basics are covered too - with stereo Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, TV-out and FM radio with RDS THE OFFICIAL PROMO VIDEO SEE HERE ....... SOURCE: gsmarena nokia has unvieled this handset today...... according to nokia this handset will come in major markets in first half of 2009 around 550 euros before taxes

Nokia N97....nseries With Qwerty
Mufaddal replied to Mufaddal's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
File this under “rumors” or “wishful thinking” until we hear anything official from NokiaHowever, quite respected online retailer, Play.com, has a pre-order page for the upcoming n97on its website. From there, we’ve learn that the highly anticipated device will start shipping on March 31st. The price is kinda steep — 479.99 GBP, which is about $707 — but then again, that amount buys the single best Nokia smartphone released to date. Both the large touchscreen and full QWERTY keyboard are on board, meaning this baby could help you increase your productivity while on the go. Alternatively, it’s also a media savvy device, sporting a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual-LED flash, media player, 32GB of built-in storage memory, GPS, WiFi, 3G (HSDPA), and a whole lot more -

Mufaddal replied to dkaile's topic in Other handsets
exactly dont use rconnect for browsing on phone ans checking mails ...u will get huge data charges i m a prepaid user and havent suscribed to any plan but use rworld on both my mogul as well as treo with uts username and password i get charged as 5p/10kb ... also if at all u use netconnect make sure to disable the connection as u will b charged as long as you are connected -
thats y i dont use them ....i prefer carrying money and keep credit card in case of utmost emergency but i guess certain people dont prefer carrying lots of money in their wallet ..they prefer using a debit card instead its subjective issue
-
that would hardly make any difference ...the best thing is that palm have decided to include hardware keyboard rather than going only touchscreen
-
i totally agree with dkalie ...use credit cards only where it is required like doing online transactions for other things it is better to pay cash and stay away from paying their interests/taxes/late payment charges and stuff
-
i will prefer using this phone on gsm networks rather than cdma since web os is essentially based around data services it wil be fun to use this handset with 3G ...as atleast in 2009 v will have 3G ... y to use this beautiful 3G enabled handset on 1*rtt network
