  3. Nokia Locate Sensor can help you find lost keys, phones, bags, purses or anything you’re likely to need right before you rush out the door. Revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show, it’s currently a project kicking around the labs at the Nokia Research Centre, but it’s an interesting one. First, quick explanation. The sensor is a tiny device, no bigger than a small thumb. It attaches to whatever you’d like to attach it to and communicates with your phone wirelessly (though we’re not totally certain how, just yet - there’s no official release so we only know what’s been reported so far). Drop whatever has the tag attached and your phone will alert you, via a software app that sits on your phone, and help you find the object, provided you’re within 100 meters of it (probably not good for speed boat jaunts then). The system also works the other way around, so you could have the sensor on your person, and if you get separated from your device, an alarm will sound to let you know. Support for 100 individual sensors is provided by the app and each sensor has enough power to last 18 months before it runs out of juice.

its not a concept ....it will go into mass production pretty soon

  6. Htc 2009 Line Up Leaked

There’s nothing we like seeing more than a high profile cellphone manufacturer’s upcoming product lineup leaked for all the blogosphere to enjoy. HTC’s entire 2009 product portfolio has been leaked, showing off the Taiwanese handset maker’s 25 handset strong lineup. From the looks of the leaked images, HTC seems to be taking their best successes of 2008 and bumping up their spec-sheets. We’re seeing familiar form-factors in the HTC Topaz (the HTC Touch Diamond’s successor), Willow W (the follow-up to the HTC Excalibur), Whitestone W (an HTC Touch HD with kickstand), and Rhodium (an HTC Touch HD with QWERTY keyboard?), all, presumably, with uprated spec-sheets and expanded feature-sets. It’s unclear what HTC has planned for 2009 in terms of specific features, but we’re expecting the Windows Mobile smartphone makers to push out higher-megapixel cameras (at least 3 megapixels), give all smartphones 3G data connections, add in a few WiMAX radios, and push touchscreen display resolutions past the HVGA barrier. Of course, we’ll have to wait on official word from HTC before we can draw any definitive conclusions about HTC’s 2009 portfolio. Still, it sure is fun speculating! Check out the rest of the 25 HTC smartphones here. VIA WMPoweruser

  14. The New Palm To Look Out For

well alomost all the handsets that are released on a particular network undergo testing phase over a period of 2-3 mnths ...its not only with cdma but also with gsm i know it sounds a bit surprising that a cdma phone or gsm phone shud work equally well on any network so y test it ...but testing is very much require to find any issues with that particular network and rectify it when apple iphone was due to b launched it went into testing phase since june to test call/data to give an example sprint treo755p is a cdma handset which wroks on all networks but if u go to see people who use it on cricket or metro pcs have a lot of complaints specially like frequent call drops as compared to people on sprint ....also we have a lot of problem with data connection going dormant requiring radio reset which is more pronounced on our network then sprint network according to me testing phase is very much essential ....
