"With a subscriber base of over 17 million, Aircel, the fifth largest service provider in the country, has rolled out its 13th circle with Hyderabad completing its footprint in southern India," Aircel Chief Operating Officer Gurdeep Singh said in Hyderabad. The Hyderabad launch augments the next phase of our pan India roll-out, Singh said. To address the need of a high migrant population from various parts of the country including a large number of students, we are offering free incoming on Aircel to Aircel roaming in the southern corridor and STD at Rs one per minute from Aircel in Hyderabad to all metros, he added. "While the mobile penetration in Hyderabad is approximately 80 per cent, there are a lot of segment-based needs that an operator can fulfill for better consumer satisfaction," Singh said. Aircel plans to invest Rs 1,000 crore in two phases for its expansion. In the first phase, the telecom operator will invest Rs 500 crore in infrastructure, data centres, offices. And in the second phase, the end of the year, an additional Rs 500 crore more will be invested. By mid-June 2010, almost the entire India would be covered, Singh said.

not april but in mid of march they can start there services.they have to start in december but not yet.they are late.everything is ok here thier setup is ok but do not know why they r not starting here.many of their showrooms are ready.in south delhi,north delhi,west delhi.hope they are waiting for something good for there customers.welcome aircel we are waiting 4u.

Hi all last month aircel announce that they will start its service in delhi in the last of feb but this is march they are not starting here.any body have a idea when they will start here in delhi.

aircel lanuch its service in karnatka.but in punjab they will take more time.they will start in punjab near about august or september.but in delhi they are close to launch they are doing ads here and start distrbuting of hordings to the retailors.may be it will luanch in delhi coming 1or2 days.but in up(e&W) they will start in first week of march.

Aircel appoints US Adcom as OOH media partner New Delhi, February 12, 2009 US Adcom, the OOH (out of home) arm of US Advertising based in Delhi, has been appointed as the OOH media partner for telecom operator Aircel for its Northern India market. The telecom company has its operations in West Bengal and the seven North Eastern states. Aircel will soon launch its services in Delhi and UP (East and West).The development was confirmed by Basant Dhawan, general manager, marketing, Aircel. The Aircel Group is a joint venture between Maxis Communications Berhad of Malaysia and Apollo Hospital Enterprise of India. It commenced its operations in 1999 and became the leading mobile operator in Tamil Nadu within 18 months. In December 2003, it launched its operations in Chennai. With more than 15 million customers in the country, Aircel has revved up its plans to become a full-fledged national operator. Aircel reviewed a few OOH agencies for planning, buying and deploying of its outdoor media in these circles. Besides US Adcom, agencies such as Primesite, Posterscope and ADS were also in the fray. Currently, Aircel is running a pre-launch campaign across markets in the northern circle of Delhi and UP (East and West). US Sharma, director, US Adcom, says, “The Delhi and UP (East and West) operations will be launched by the end of February and the first week of March, respectively. The work for these upcoming launches is currently on.” US Adcom also claims to have added a professional with a telecom background to handle the account. Rishi Raj, brand manager with Idea’s Delhi circle, has joined the outfit as general manager. The company is also offering free talk time worth Rs 450 on any network for three months as a promotional offer and the RCom GSM subscribers can avail this for Rs five every day for the first 90 days. "In a short span of 11 months, Reliance Mobile has created a GSM network in Delhi whose coverage and capabilities are superior to GSM networks that have been in existence for 15 years," RCom Regional Head (Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan circles) C S Rana said in a statement. Reliance Mobile GSM offering is a unique value proposition fine tuned as per the needs of every segment of GSM customers in the country, Rana said. The subscribers would get double talk time in every recharge till March this year, the company said adding there would be free night calling to any Reliance phone (CDMA or GSM) between 11 in the night till 6 in the morning by paying a monthly charge of Rs 15. RCom is the only telecom operator in India which gives an option of both CDMA and GSM services. In December, 2008 the company had launched its GSM service in Mumbai, giving free talk time worth Rs 10 every day to the new subscribers for the first three months whereas for Delhi subscribers it has been reduced by 50 percent. To enhance the quality of services in high population density areas of Delhi, the company has installed several in-building solutions, RCom said.
