Reliance Jio - Pan India 4G / LTE network
SUDYEcaZ replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
VoLTE is also internet data. Basically a IP based network. Service providers have different APN to carry Voice and normal internet traffic. done so as to give priority for Voice packets. Switching off Mobile data will only switch you data APN's. VoLTE APNS still continue to work. most service providers will use APN with name hos or ims(this can differ from provider to provider) -
You dont need netvolocity app to show the mobile band most handset have default number which can show this info. (including 2/3/4G bands) Eg for samsung u need to dial *#0011#

Applied for 4G MIgration on 2nd June, 4G SIM activated on evening 3rd June(MH), voice quality is ok but RGSM coverage is patchy. Will it improve? or should I port to other operator RCOM only trying to give data via 800 Mhz. but for voice still fallback on rgsm 2g Phone used mainly for voice. around 1200-1400 Mins of outgoing calls per months. 3-4 days of roaming in MP currently on 349 Home Roam plan giving 750 Mins of o/g and incoming free while roaming. all o/g is 40ps

All unlimited data plans have been changed. Data is capped to 5GB and voice 5000 MIns(not sure on exact mins). But post 4g migration no more unlimited plans

How much time does it take for 4G Upgrade process. Registered my postpaid number yesterday evening. CDMA still working, 4G SIM says registration failed

Got 2 CDMA Numbers (1 pre-MU, 1 post-MH). For post multiple times call from CC to change the SIM. Finally Dad will pick the same on Monday. For prepaid. No such call or notification in instacare app. Not using the number since last one year as RCOM does not give international roaming on prepaid. Not going to change to 4g SIM. Lets see what happens to the number. Network available on both SIM. Basic LG CDMA Phone

So now they want to change the tariff plan in name of 4G Upgrade. I believe many CDMA users are still on lifetime plan of flat 50P calling

In all Circles either RCOM have sharing deal with Jio or trading deal. RCOM really dont need to do much testing. They probably just need to align it with Jio

Reliance COMM---4 circle 6.25 Mhz remaing All circles 5Mhz spectrum Reliance Jio -------10 circles 5Mhz Spectrum MTS-----------------7 circle 3.75 Mhz, 1 Circle 5 Mhz I dont see a point where in Reliance needs to close CDMA operations where the combined 3 entity have more than 8.75 Mhz of spectrum.(around 17 Circles) 3.75 Mhz is sufficient to support EVDO A + Voice. For RCOM, dongle users are high ARPU as compared to GSM. Not sure if they want to take a risk of loosing this guys On top of above 800 Mhz holding RCOM also have 3g in 13 circles and Jio having 1800 Mhz in 18 circles. For all practical purpose 1-2 Mbps speed is sufficient on mobiles. No operator in the world can afford unlimited data on high speed for wireless network (10Mbps +) Upgrade to 4g, Port to RGSM or Port to MTS may be just to gauge feedback/response from the customers or to avoid service disruption for voice users(as RCOM/JIO/MTS will need to align to LTE frequencies and test out LTE network)

Are you connected to Both RCOM and JIO 4G?

What plans are on offer for RCDMA users migratign to RGSM? Migrating to RGSM is completely different than upgrading to 4g. You have to do MNP/INP to migrate to RGSM and the plans are not very attractive too. Better upgrade to 4g and ur same voice and data plan will continue. You can use the 4g sim in normal 2g/3g gsm handset also if you dont want to use 4g. Post 90 days you will b eligible for MNP once again. What do u mean by 4G is different than RGSM here? Are you saying that CDMA customer who upgrade to 4G will have different network than RGSM? I thought even RGSM customer can use 4G network

At the time of provisioning the service, they make the customer sign on agreement which enable them to snap the agreement, stop the service at any day under a position when 'they are unable to cater any more'. So, legal action cannot help. Legal action can definitely be taken. Remember life time validity plans? Clearly one is suppose to get service till license validity
