List of 4G Handsets that works for India - Band 3 & 40 (1800 Mhz & 2300 Mhz)
SUDYEcaZ replied to Guru Gopal's topic in Other handsets
Not many countries have VoLTE. as a consumer for most for it really does not matter if Voice call goes via 2/3/4G For countries where VoLTE is offered it is restricted to selected handsets only(Mostly iPhone/Samsung and few operator provided phones) Airtel/Idea/Voda are in no hurry to offer VoLTE -

http://telecom.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/policy/rcom-board-meet-on-monday-to-mull-sistema-shyam-telecom-business-merger/49608665 NEW DELHI: Anil Ambani-owned Reliance Communications' board will meet Monday for considering merger of Sistema Shyam Teleservices Limited's (SSTL) telecom business into itself, which could well mark the beginning of the first consolidation in the telecom sector since 2009. The No 4 mobile services provider by subscribers, told the Bombay Stock Exchange on Saturday that it would hold a meeting of the Board of Directors on November 02 'to consider a scheme of arrangement for demerger of telecom business undertaking of Sistema Shyam Teleservices Limited into the company.' SSTL operates in India under the MTS brand. Separately, sources said that the board of Russia's Sistema JSFC had met on Saturday to ratify the demerger of the telecom business from its Indian unit, SSTL, and merge it with RCom's business. An SSTL spokesman declined to comment. The companies had entered into talks in May for a possible merger of their operations in the country through a stock swap, where MTS could get a stake of 8-10% of the merged entity. RCom would keep the controlling stake, absorb most of the chief executives from the Russian company, while not taking on any debt. MTS has a debt of around Rs 3,800 crore. RCom had told BSE in June that the discussions were 'indicative and non-binding in nature,' and were subject to due diligence, definitive documentation and approvals. ET had first reported the deal in the works in May, and subsequent developments over last few months. Sistema JSFC holds nearly 57% in Sistema Shyam, which uses CDMA technology in nine of India's 22 service areas to nearly 10 million subscribers. Other shareholders include the Russian government with over 17% and Shyam Group, the Indian promoters of SSTL, holding 24%. Minority shareholders own the rest. Sistema entered India in 2007 and got licenses in all 22 circles a year later. But in 2012, the Supreme Court cancelled all but one of the company's licences. The pure-play CDMA operator bought back through a subsequent auction airwaves in eight circles - Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh (West) and West Bengal - rights for which expire in 2033. SSTL's acquisition would extend the combined entity's license validity period, future-proofing nearly half RCom's telecom circles which expire by 2022-23. RCom has 21 circles which expire by this year, while West Bengal expires in 2017. It acquired Assam and the Northeast in the February auction, which will last till 2035. RCom would also not need to pay anything more to the government if it acquires SSTL's bandwidth, going by the current M&A rules , as all of the airwaves have been won in auctions. Having chosen to give up on 900 Mhz in some of its circles in the recent auctions, and instead buy more of the 850 Mhz band, RCom expects to launch 4G services on these airwaves by the end of 2015.

Reliance Jio - Pan India 4G / LTE network
SUDYEcaZ replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
so if RCOM CDMA will be used for 4g What will happen to the existing Data Card customers, Bread and butter of RCOM? Dont think with 5Mhz one can support CDMA Voice, EVDO and 4g LTE all together In Near future what i believe is 4g will only be on 2300/1800 bands. 800 is only a fall back for Jio. in return RCOM Customer may get access to Jio 4g network. Will be interesting to see the handsets that Jio brings in -
Nexus 6P (International and US variant) will have CDMA connectivity
SUDYEcaZ replied to ngr.hd's topic in Other handsets
Well, if you compare both: http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=7588&idPhone2=7229 I find Nexus 6P a clear winner. AMOLED screen, purest Android, timely updates, better battery, Finger print sensor, Gorilla Glass 4, Quad Core 820, Adreno 430, Type-C reversible 3.0 Micro USB all that for the cost of SD slot, which IDC personally. And not to forget DxOmark gave Nexus 6P camera next best to Galaxy S6: http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/09/29/dxomark-says-the-nexus-6ps-camera-is-one-of-the-best-available-second-only-to-the-galaxy-s6-edge/ Also: This: http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/09/29/nexus-camera-gets-huge-improvements-slow-motion-video-smart-burst-6p-launch-shortcut/ And (Ultra 4K 240 FPS recording): http://www.androidauthority.com/nexus-6p-camera-samples-slow-motion-video-645806/ All that makes Moto Style a previous year phone, I'm sold for Nexus 6P already! Goodbye Moto U forget to compare most important factor Price.- 13 replies

So India is going to have 4G in 800, 1800 and 2300 Mhz and 3G in 900 and 2100 Mhz. It would be real tough to have a phone that works with all. 4G on 800 must atleast be year away... By that time you will have handsets which support... as of now 4G on 1800/2300 and 3g on 900/2100 many phones are available across price band

Will this imported CDMA phone work with RUIM of indian Operators?
SUDYEcaZ replied to abhijeetv2's topic in Technical / OS related
@SmartSamrat - I got the Verizon Moto E today. GSM works after changing the mode but only EDGE, 3G doesn't work. I tried Aircel sim. Inserted my Reliance CDMA sim and it connected to network, call & SMS works, but no data. Data works too! What additional step do I need to do to get data working? Scratch that. Data works too, looks like my cut sim had issues, tried a different sim and data worked without any changes. So only problem is 3G doesn't work in India, I am guessing it doesn't support the 2100 MHz band. Can anyone else confirm? http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_moto_e_(2nd_gen)-6986.php HSDPA 850 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 - XT1527, XT1511 -

Reliance Communications becomes first operator to possess pan India contiguous 800 MHz spectrum
SUDYEcaZ replied to M.S.Rao's topic in Reliance Communications
Not sure how RCOM will implement 4g in 800 Band, I guess above new is just a marketing stuff Not all quantum of spectrum is liberalized in this Band, it is only the Spectrum won during this Auction. All existing spectrum of RCOM will be coming to expiry in 2021, WIll not be easy to retain all the spectrum going with current interest from Tata and JIO Already in debt, where is the money for capex? Cant see a place where 4g is deployed with just 5Mhz in 800 Band -
Same here... One International invite available valid till tomorrow 10 AM

My point is In India MI4 is also good VFM..Which other phone gives Qual 801 chip set under 20k Agree one plus one support 4g...but where r services .. at least a year plus more before we get good coverage on 4g in India... Regarding MI3...don't we have phones like ZTE Grand S2 offering same spec at less price
-
MI4 and one plus one almost same specs...still one is termed over priced and other as VFM...strange
-
Mi4 is overpriced...if that is the case what is one plus one?
