The faq says they changed their billing system because people were bitChi-n-g about the data usage and how it was calculated! http://www.relianceinfo.com/Infocomm/Rim/r..._details.html#a Anyways this new plan s**ks in my opinion for Platinum users! $#$$#@% reliance! ---------------- Can I change between tariff plans? From the current Freedom/Freedom Plus and Platinum plan to Time based monthly commitment plans? Yes you can change from the current Freedom/Freedom Plus and Platinum plan to the new Time based monthly commitment plans (For an existing RIM/FWP user) However you cannot migrate to any other Freedom/Freedom Plus and Platinum plan. (Note for customer care: Pls explain all the five new options) (For new RIM/FWP customers) (Note for customer care: Pls explain the five new Time based plan option ---------------------------- And how poorely is their faq on their website written!!! Doesn't anyone proof this stuff before its hosted!!!

Rs. 1000/pm is being compared to Rs. 250 /25hrs. Indian ISPs are still pretty cluess about the purpose of broadband.

No doubt Google's "open" chat client has them pi$$ing in their pants! -
Yes thats true we didn't sign anything! And even if you did sign such a document it is the responsibility of the ISP to explain each and every term and condition of the contract to you (if he tries to misguide you with this, thats illegal too) and give you a copy of such a contract! I dont have anything! Which ISP did you sign up with Abhay!
-
Doesn't matter. Its all pretty illegal I'm sure. Reliance has as little authority to tap your internet connection as it does your phone lines without the explicit consent of the police/courts. And any evidence obtained through unlawful means can be supressed pretty darn easily.
-
Yes Asshok thats right. In villages where there is no electricity, farmers browse the net and check their email using laptops and their Reliance Data cards before running of to plow their fields!

You could buy it! Or you could download Advanced PDF Password Recovery from Downloads.com. However the shareware version of this program has has limitations too.

100 MB? Airtel knows people surfing the web in text mode? Even my email (corporate + personnal) is greater than 200-300 MB per month!
-
The thing is that while they give you a max possible speed. They don't give you a minimum assured speed (kbps)/service level (uptime)! For corporate connections a shared ILL (internet leased circuit) is shared amongst 4 at max. So that means for a 256 kbps shared IlL that you will get a minimum assured speed of 64 kbps and a max of 256 kbps. But dont expect that kinda professional behaviour from Webel and similar service providers.

Its true this technology has been in the pipeline ever since ISDN was the "best new technology". But I don't think its come up much as a technology.

They all have cartels. How do I know this. Well (at least in Kol) - the prices of Airtel & Hutch changed simultaneously, just like Coke & Pepsi's. All this about not being a cartel is all hogwash.

The all have limits. Otherwise how would they make money? -
Hi everyone, If any of you guys have mp3s of the following songs: 1. Denewala from the movie Hera Pheri 2. Mein pagla yamla deewana from the movie Pratigya Please do send me a PM! This is very urgent. I need this for a play! Searched desitorrents, google etc with no luck. So if any of you guys have the mp3 or a link to a HIGH QUALITY MP3 please do let me know.

Have you tried with more than 1 person? Go to a chat room and see if you can hear people talking there. If you can its probably your brother who has his mic settings wrong.
-
Sorry VB your views on iTunes is irrelevant here. As is the discussion on the N91! We were discussing rumours of a possible "rPod" launch! My god I'm begining to sound like Vishal!!!
-
Yes but the N91 (GSM) doesnt support iTunes or CDMA for that matter. And Nokia or anyone else is hardly going to introduce a "specially" designed phone in pirate haven India.
-
It will probably be the Motorola iTunes compatible phone - the Rokr that they've just launched!
-
I've faced the reboot problem a couple of times (except in my collections folder which I've screwed myself)! And while it is a bug it isnt too much of an issue for me. There is a firmware update someone pointed out 4.01 (from 4.0) but you'll need a phone flasher for that and I dont know if it fixes the problem or if RIM/Nokia supports it! And Mukul I doubt if Tanveer dropped the phone FROM the 3rd floor. The phone isnt made of titanium and the like to withstand a 3 floor drop! But the phone is hardy as all Nokia models go except for the battery cover which is made from the cheapest plastics money can buy.

pbjain looks like a very frustrated dude! Cool it dude it isnt the end of the world! Of course if you interested in a 2nd hand Samsung SCH A563 gimme a buzz!
-
Thats great speed!! The speed of a BT connection is around 720 kbps and of CDMA internet connectivity 144kbps. So you're quite safe.
-
Yes Deepu serves you right for swearing here and corrupting innocent lil boys like Ashok! Next Vishal I say you knock off 99% of Ashok's posts. It will serve him right for having a non-alcoholic non-food party in Joggers Park!!!

Reliance Infocomm offers roaming in 2 more countries Rajesh S Kurup / Mumbai September 29, 2005 Reliance Infocomm (RIC), an Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Enterprises (ADAE) group company, has added two more countries on its international roaming (IR) network, taking the total number to seven. Hong Kong and Taiwan are the latest additions to the company’s roaming network, while it is also planning to add 11 countries across three continents on its IR network. Confirming this, a company official said that the company has commercially launched IR in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and has tied with Hutch in Hong Kong and APBW in Taiwan for the services. Hutch and APBW offer CDMA services in their respective countries. Following the commercial launch, post-paid subscribers of Reliance Infocomm will remain connected with their homes and the rest of the world when roaming in these countries, while subscribers of these nations will get a similar service while visiting India. Reliance Infocomm offers its CDMA services under the brand name Reliance IndiaMobile. These countries are popular tourist and business destinations for Indians, while the country also receives a sizeable in-bound visitors from Hong Kong and Taiwan. With this addition, the total number of countries on Reliance Infocomm’s network increases to seven, the others being China (under a tie-up with China Unicom), Israel (Pelephone Cellular Communications), USA (Sprint), Indonesia (Mobile-8) and New Zealand (Telecom Mobile). The IR in these countries were commercially rolled out on August 18. The Anil Ambani-controlled company is also planning to enter into tie-ups with 12 operators in 11 countries across three continents, which accounts for 90 per cent of the global CDMA footprint. Reliance Infocomm is looking at countries like Korea, Australia, Thailand and Canada among others. http://www.business-standard.com/iceworld/...mnu9&leftindx=9
