  1. Meeting Experiences.... With Other Rimweb Users

Ok. Lets get some facts straight (hint hint Ashoksoft)! 1. Yes. I am freakin cool. Well come to the neighbourhood! 2. I'm no where near your "size" so lets not even go there. 3. I've never asked about your girl. You've volunteered information - and I've ridiculed you (which is what I do)! 4. I'm hot (but unfortunately there arent any chicks here so thats that). 5. Consider yourself lucky that I put up with and that didnt give you the right to invite anyone else to crash in to my place! Unless you're a hot chick. 6. I made Ashok break his drinking vows. And how hard was that. 7. Its been great meeting everyone here. Cheers!
  2. Nokia 6255 Blues

Comwarrior... I dont think so. I'll check my hdd but highly unlikely. Unless of course YOU PUT IT THERE!!! And mine reboots ONLY when I access the COLLECTIONS FOLDER which is screwed! And the phone reboots!
  3. Hack Your Nokia Phone

Does anyone know how to hard reset a 6255? The "standard" Nokia combo - call + 3 +* doesnt work here!
  4. All About Nokia 6255

Mukul: Couldn't ff or rw MP3s using the up/down keys. I'm opening the files through Music Player not MEDIA PLAYER. That shuold be the correct way right? And I press the UP/DOWN keys while I'm in the Music Player screen right?
  5. Reliance To Shift To Wcdma

Abhay: Apart from the names there is nothing similar to WCDMA & CDMA. WCDMA is GSM (UTMS actually) standard and has absolutely nothing to do with Qualcomm's CDMA platform. WCDMA is a upgrade for GSM 2.5 G. CDMA's upgrade path goes - EVDO, EVDV, and various versions of EVDV etc.... So RIM won't be converted to WCDMA. Anil's not that charming that he can persuade even 10% of his 10 million subscriber base to buy new phones because they just wont work on his new network!
  6. Ok guys for all your speculations on every fancy or not so fancy Nokia CDMA handsets and other crap. Heres who's going to be the actual next hand set vendor..... ittsssss..... (drum rolls)..... Huawei!!!! And how do I know..... http://www.relianceinfo.com/Infocomm/Rim/h...ers.html#huawei . Well kinda self explanatory isnt it. Why would they have a list of service centers for Huawei handsets! Of course quality still remains a big concern for RIM --- remember GTRAN and hell the damn battery still over heats even on a Nokia 6255!! So god knows how these guys will be (they are Chinese after all!)!
  7. All About Nokia 6255

By problem I mean I cant Fast forward or rewind them!
  8. Longhorn Becomes Windows Vista™

Dude - http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1858109,00.asp John Dvorak at his best.
  9. Nokia 6155 CDMA

Looks like a Samsung/LG rip off. But it has a livelier interface compared to the 6255!
  10. All About Nokia 6255

Doesnt work for MP3s. Now I need to convert my mp3 collection into damn AAC! Anyone knows of a good batch converter? Also does the phone play MP3s of any bitrate? Anyone tried 320 kbps or more?
  11. Any New Handsets From Huawei ?

450 Mhz handsets wont work in India. CDMA operators use the 800 MHz band here. Although the 450 Mhz band is being considered for 3G services for CDMA operators in India.
  12. All About Nokia 6255

CC: I had trouble with Mobi 3.0.05 too. It gave a error box that said F2K2 or something like that every time I browsed a folder. Mobi 2.5 works great though. No reboots no nuffin. Just drag'n drop jar files on the phone and play!
  13. I Screwed Myself

Yes and talk nicely to them and maska them! Physically damaging your set isnt covered under any warranty. They should be decent enough to repair it for free if it doesnt cost much. If you have a "source" at the repair center it will make things that much easier.
  14. Will Lil Ambani Sell Rel Telecom?

Isnt it 74% now up from 49%. 2ndly thanks to ADC & interconnect he can't offer free RIM to RTL!
  15. Will Lil Ambani Sell Rel Telecom?

Hate to say (actually love to) But all you $500 mil investment disbelivers : TOLD YOU SO!!! He might not sell to the Russians or some Swedes.... but sell he will.
  16. Nokia 6265 CDMA Launched on Reliance Mobile now !

They're waiting for the Govt. to allow them to. By offering them 3G frequencies and licences.
  17. Rim International Roaming On Cdma

Yeah keep getting SMS from them every other day. I wish I could reply back saying "I know! I know! And I'd love to use services in all those countries.... why don't you send me some tickets......
  18. And ever service provider said: We think its a great idea BUT: 1. Its too expensive 2. The technology isn't there 3. Lets do it with the landlines first (this is my personnal favourite) 4. The timing isn't right 5. It will cost the people more money 6. It will cost the Govt. more money Looks like they all watched Yes Minister before submitting their replies. I still say things like MNP and OneIndia crap isn't going to happen tomorrow. So don't hold your breathe people. ------------------------- Mobile number portability (MNP) was first instituted in the US on November 24, 2003 – a date wireless carriers feared most. US mobile operators braced themselves for what they expected to be one of the largest challenges within their industry. Eighteen months after its introduction, number portability has been more of a lumbering elephant and less of a roaring lion. At the onset, the FCC, wireless operators, and many industry analysts expected 30m subscribers to transfer their wireless number within the first 12 months of MNP’s introduction. Only 7.8m actually did. The top five national carriers have all added customers during this time, with AT&T/Cingular growing by about 5% on the low end, and T-Mobile growing by more than 33% on the high end. Overall, Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile have been the biggest winners as they have focused on improving network quality and customer service http://www.pyramidresearch.com/pa_may26_mnp.htm ----------------------------------------------------------------------
  19. Tata Tele-services Gets Major Blow

Yes Reliance's FWP & FWT will be affected. As will Bharati's where they have a similar service. Say goodbye to unlimited STD calls and cheaper call rates for that matter!
  20. Bsnl Broadband Connection

The price is ok. The speed is good (if you consistenly hit 256 kbps). But a DOWNLOAD LIMIT is in no way what broadband is about. They must try to understand this concept. It's failed all the wise men of TRAI, BSNL, SIFY, Reliance and you name it. And it just goes to show that despite all great reports infrastructure in India still s**ks BIGTIME!
  21. Nokia 6638

    Sure dude diwali 2005!
  22. Then the Samsung SCH A-563 supports it!
  23. Use PSP Player to convert between formats. Wav, SMF, Midi yada yada yada is all supported by it. Discussions about PSP are all over this forum, you can search and get it.
  24. It will ONLY help if you have a very weak signal in your area and most of the packets being sent/received have errors. A signal booster can help improve the speed by minimizing the number of errornous packets sent back and forth. Saving time rather than boosting real speed. CDMA 1x 2000 Technology is limited to 144kbps. So if you hit the 120-130 mark usually... dont can't it wont get any faster.
  25. Ashok: He's probably using a screen capture utility called SNAGIT. Duh. Its right there! For a hacker not that observant.....
