Kam: All the 27 people who've bought it so far are praying that it will be. From Avi's list practiacally nothing on RWorld is supported. Which might be a good thing.... since it would keep my temptation in check till they released something with EVDO!

Phonebook On Rim Gets Much Needed Protection
anujit replied to basant_jp's topic in Reliance Communications
Amtrag: With RIM you never know. Ever seen how quickly your WAP favourites get wipped out? Besides who said you're not paying for disk space? Is it mentioned somewhere? The diskspace usually is part of the service as would be for any paid email service, you dont pay just for accessing mails, you also pay for storing your mails there! Dont pay them and they'll wipe it all off! So this is entirely upto RIM whether to delete this data or not (and after how long). Also I would like an option to delete my phonebook from RIM's servers at my discretion. Is that possible? -
Phonebook On Rim Gets Much Needed Protection

From SIMs (i.e. transfer from GSMs to RIM) is free. For RIM its M. Wonder how that works though since you can pay per day (i.e. Rs. 3) - so if you dont pay on a particular day do they wipe the data off? -
400 MB! wooo hooo it will only take me 6 months to fill up my gmail inbox! I cant wait to take it! Do these idiots (senior managers at BSNL and the pvt. ISPs) have any idea what broadband is for?

Phonebook On Rim Gets Much Needed Protection

They've added passwords and cleared some bugs I think. Thats what the hullala is about! -
Avi, thanks for your help. Most disappointing to see that the RWorld page has barely 5 ticks (in about 500)! I will enquire at those webworlds... however the price in webworlds is crazy... around 2.5k more than what I'm getting from other dealers. They are expecting stock soon - or so they say. But want an advance for booking an order! One dealer confided that it was because RIM has never introduced such expensive handsets before - they are afraid to stock them! It's not like they are selling like hot cakes!

What Rs. 1,000 .... Dhiru and sons having been giving away free phones since DAPO started! or have they.

Vsnl And Reliance Submarine Cables Damaged
anujit replied to kawalghai_chd's topic in Reliance Communications
Did anyone face any disrupption in speed/services. I didnt on my mobile (for data services of course). -
What speed is it running at? And how do you measure it? If your card is a USB 2.0 Card it will run at 400 Mbps. Since this is the lastest version the port speed will be dependant on the device speed (i.e. whether the device you attach to the USB computer supports USB 2.0 or 1.1 or 1.0 etc).

Longhorn Becomes Windows Vista™
anujit replied to Vishal Gupta's topic in General Technical Discussion
Nothing will go "wrong" if you type in something that the Registry cannot recognise - it will simply ignore it. Registry problems happen if you delete some items that are core to Windows, or assign wrong values to the items. If you add unrecognised items they will simply be ignored. -
I doubt if the direct MMS is available either. I don't know if it's Nokia's cockiness or what that makes them give have baked things with RIM! Its difficult to understand why they take so much effort to disable most of the features already available in the phone!

Providing a link for downloading IE 7 is illegal?

Longhorn Becomes Windows Vista™
anujit replied to Vishal Gupta's topic in General Technical Discussion
Vishal the simple registry change needs tons of code (and loads of bloatware) in the background to comprehend and execute that registry instruction. Just because you type something in the registry like "be cool like mac osx= true" doesnt mean it will actually happen unless theres programming behind it that can react to the keyvalue! -
Longhorn Becomes Windows Vista™

You're kidding me so that had that feature installed but disabled in XP and enabled it in Vista? -
But where can one download a beta from? Apart from joining MSDN of course.
-
Puneet: Given M$ - Google rivalry that was probably pre-programmed! Just like Yahoo & Hotmail were to junk Gmail invites! I'm with Firefox and happy. There is the occasional page or two that doesnt render well in Firefox - especially pages with JS etc and all pages with ActiveX! But people are working fast here... Symantec which offered its online virus scan only through IE (ActiveX) is now offering non-ActiveX online scanning that support other browsers. Then theres the Google bar & Yahoo bar for Firefox etc etc etc.

I'm guessing he'll disconnect the entire service not just MMS!
-
Try clearing your phone cache and then starting Rworld.

Yes Deepu while this argument is irrelevent. Testing beta products on top of beta products hardly makes good test cases. -
Eww its ugly! And just another sign that Anil spends all night plotting to run down REL instead of reading the posts at RimWeb!

Anil didnt create RIM, Mukesh did. Anil's been here barely a month or two!
