Nope. They use different frequencies, bandwith, codecs, transmittion technologies, receiving technologies etc etc etc. Moreover while GSM is open source so to speak - CDMA is proprietary stuff and will only work with Qualcomm processors.

The DAPO scheme announced there wouldn't be any ISP charges... Soon enough RIM started charging 200 bucks/month for R Connect (isn't this illegal!) apart from per minute/mb charges! But they offered discounts - free for people who registered by Aug 15 2003 & 100 bucks a month for after Aug 15 till sometime in Nov 2003. The offer was to continue till June 2004. Is this offer now closed? Or has it been extended? When will the introduce more reasonable internet tarrifs! They should be able to offer unlimited downloads @ Rs. 700-900 easily! If the can make night surfing free for the FWP, why can't they do the same for mobile users?

The 563 accepts MA2 & MA3 formats. Never heard of them myself! I tried with Bitpim .7-15 & .7 test 10 neither worked! Look for MA2 & MA3 converters and let me know if you've been able to upload. Are you using the Windows version of Bitpim??? what about the cable? is it the 1200 bucks reliance rip off or the 100 bucks local market stuff?? im on the 100! -

Basic Operators Fail To Meet Trai's Quality Benchm
anujit replied to city02's topic in Reliance Communications
And this comes as a big surprise to all of us! -
Fair enough - City etc is right. Therefore we should ban the following discussions and activities: 1. Bitpim and downloading/uploading ringtones & logos! 2. Field Code keys 3. AKEY codes etc etc Arent they illegal/immoral as well. Because not only do they access "restricted/secured" portions of information they also violate music/pictures copyright laws! Arun you should take them off ASAP!

Well I did a similar upgrade and I sat in Web World till about 9p.m. manually entering each entry (about 200 odd) when I upgraded from the N191 to the A563. Learnt my lesson. If you have a data cable - its the simplest - you can upload the old phone contents to a software and download it to the new phone. Of course I don't know if there's any software available that supports both LG & Samsung phones! You can try FutureDial SnapSync though!

uhuh and at 500 bucks a month too

Tata Tele to switch to 10-digit mobile number from June PTI[ MONDAY, MAY 31, 2004 05:31:08 PM ] NEW DELHI: The erstwhile WLL mobile users of Tata Teleservices will get 10-digit number with effect from June 4 to begin with Andhra Pradesh followed by Karnataka and in other circles in the subsequent week. "For our AP circle, the change to the 10-digit number will start from June 4 or June 3 mid-night while for Karnataka circle, the changeover will be from June 7 midnight or June, 8," Amit Bose, president, telecom, Tata Teleservices told here. For the remaining circles, the changeover to the 10-digit numbering will happen by June 15, he said. Tata Teleservices and Reliance Infocomm were earlier asked by the Department of Telecom to switch over to a 10-digit number from the current eight digit number by March 31, 2004 but due to operational glitches, this was not possible. All operational glitches including agreement with BSNL have been reached for the smooth switchover, Bose said. In December last year, in a letter to the then secretary, DoT, Vinod Vaish, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India had recommended 10-digit numbers as a follow-up of the unified access services licence migration. TTSL and Reliance had migrated to the Unified licensing regime. Other regional players who had switched over will also have new 10-digit numbers. TRAI, in its letter, had stated that numbering scheme for full mobility, provided by the existing basic telecom operators who have migrated to Unified Access Service Licence should be at the same level as that of GSM operators. The numbering of GSM players start with 98. When's RIM doing this!
