Yes USB cables to charge the 191 are available. I think I bought mine for Rs.100. It also worked fine with my Samsung 563. But the phone is hard to get nowadays. Although I heard that some refurbished models were launched. Word of advice though. Irregular charging IS NOT good for the phone battery. The phones get seriously heated and the battery life will fall significantly over time. And trust me no matter what funda anyone tries to give you about Li-Ion batteries. Its true. So a seperate charging option, as is available through a genuine Samsung USB cable is always a better choice! You could also use a stand-by battery for long internet usage.

The Group/Display mode I had discovered several weeks back. I think its for adding more icons on the main screen. Maybe like the Mini browser and things like that. But to get that you need to get the right group code. Also another tip... if you have your mini browser enabled, pressing 0 for a few seconds in the main screen will launch it!

Linuxdude: Ummm wanting to give free Wi-fi to SF does make Google an ISP. And AOL might do much better under Google although 5% stake doesnt put them under anything! But a lot of companies would do well "under" Google so why did Google suddenly have so much sympathy for AOL? Acquriing a huge set of customers is good for Google no doubt. But AOL is already Google's biggest customer so in some sense those customers are already acquired! Of course protecting this huge revenue base (around 10% of Google's revenue base comes from AOL) from M$ could be the reason why they bought in.

Out of what competition? AOL is pretty much failing as a ISP! Its Netscape browser is in deep sheet and well I dont know how much advantage it gives Google, unless of course Google is really pushing its wireless ISP model and needs AOL for that!

yeah lower the display. knock of the ringtones & vibrations etc your battery life will increase. But I'm pretty surprised it has improved this much! I think its showing you a wrong reading and as soon as you use it the battery life will fall drastically!

Yeah they are pretty slow with support for CDMA phones. I had a problem with my 6255. Apparently there was only ONE place in Pune where I could repair it. I took it there. They said they couldnt repair and would have to send it to bombay! And it would take 2 weeks. 2 weeks later I called them again and they said they couldnt repair it but they had got a brand new replacement for it from Delhi! So I went and collected it. Of course 2 weeks time for a brand new phone (it isnt like "parts arent available" or anything) isnt acceptable at all! But since I had another handset it cost me 44 bucks in all to trasnfer the number between the two phones before giving it for servicing and after receiving it back from them. But yes Nokia CDMA service. s**ks.

I think its natural on Mukesh's part. Especially since phone tapping allegations have been flying since the talk of the split! I think both have enough skeletons in their own closets to not pick on each other right now. But its only prudence that lead to this move. I'm sure Anil would have done the same! Abhay: Its not very difficult actually. For RUIM handsets all you have to do is insert the chip like a GSM mobile. For other handsets all you have to do is program in the basics like ESN, RSN etc and configure it using OTP (over the air programming)! I know it can be done because RIM had OTP'd my Samsung N191 once shortly after launch! They called me on my landline and asked me to dial *228 and press a whole buch of codes. And then my screen said "Programming in Progress" and finally "programming successful"! (And no junk mail readers this wasnt a fraud so chill!)! Whether they will actually allow it is of course a whole new story! Considering that must be getting hefty commissions from the phone manufacturers!

Heating has little to do with the kind of harmful radiation we are talkig about. Although heating could be a result of it. These phones heat up due to cheap batteries. The "harmful" radiation being described here is electro-magnetic radiation that a cellular phone (receiver/transmitter) has. FCC requires some radiation compliance. So you can check the FCC site for more details on that. Of course it is not necessary that the same model (manufactured for India & USA) has the same radiation compliance since we do not have any such certifying body! A.k.a its alright if we poor third world country SOBS get cancer!
