TATA Docomo New GPRS Plans
dr.faramroze replied to B R SHIVANANDA's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Tata Docomo does not meet Mumbai cellular traffic requirements. Signal strength is not consistent, call drops are very common. Certainly lesser headache than Mtnl 2g/3g. -
BSNL port in done early morning, incoming call service resumed, but no freebies alongwith. Got a FRC of Rs 120 and I got 1000 national sms, 1 hour BSNL to BSNL minutes and 500 mb of 3G data. But I don't know how to activate per sec billing. There are too many recharge denominations and I din't want to burden the half brains of the BSNL CSC personnel. Anyway, I am more happy than I expected, I am getting high speed 3G, thats what I was wanting. The blank network time was 10:00 pm to 4:00 am. SMS confirmation stated 2 hours.

Tata Docomo Network In Gujarat
dr.faramroze replied to kshah's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Sahi Hai, porting out tonight from Docomo Gujarat to BSNL, my mom and rest will join hands and save RCDMA. They all will port their Docomo numbers to RCDMA. -
I submitted my port request to BSNL Gujarat today, as usual the officials never know of any fine print the telecom major writes. I told them the major reason for MNP from Tata Docomo 3G to BSNL 3G was the 3G substance. And, they don't know if BSNL provides 3G MNP. Later I checked on a few websites that detail about MNP 3G transfer. I am a loyal Tata customer who has all possible services of Tata Sons, but the network coverage seems to be too below esp. while travelling. Docomo has yet to implement 3G in Mumbai, thats where I travel frequently, network fading and unusual call drops. Tata Docomo Edge Mumbai s**ks more than the G (gprs) I used since years on AirTel Gujarat. Very poor signal between Bhayandar and Vapi with blackspots ranging 10 kms rail line. My brother uses BSNL postpaid and we can hardly call him successfully during peak hours. But this problem has benefitted BSNL 3G users as they are few. Lets see if opera 11 and UCMobile opens an html link after this mnp.

TATA Docomo Launch 3G Services on Diwali
dr.faramroze replied to rahulmalik_81's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Tata DOCOMO invests Rs. 250 crore for 3G in Gujarat Becoming the first private mobile operator to have launched 3G services in Gujarat, Tata DOCOMO, the GSM arm of Tata Teleservices Ltd (TTSL) has invested about Rs. 250 crore for the rollout in the state. The rollout has resulted Tata DOCOMO offering 3G services in 19 cities of Gujarat including Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Godhra, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Nadiad, Anand, Vapi, Valsad, Bharuch, Ankleshwar, Amreli, Gandhidham, Kandla and Anjar. "Our 3G services have received a phenomenal response during pilot tests from customers across Gujarat till date and today, we have become the first mobile telecom operator to launch our 3G services in Ahmedabad and Vadodara. While 3G as the next-generation of mobility, brings with it better voice clarity through HD voice, fewer call-drops and high-speed Internet access, the impact on consumers' lives will be much higher than any of these improvements," said Nipun Sharma, Chief Operating Officer, Gujarat, Tata DOCOMO. The operator's Small Screen Plan offers data packs that have tariff options starting from Rs. 11 to Rs. 2,001 offering 10Mb to 15GB of data usage. @Karthik, Yes Tata Docomo 3G does exist in these cities but due to an overwhelmung network traffic the 3g bandwidth slot at peak times 16:30 to 23:00 hrs almost daily. Highly unreliable when we need instant connectivity. Ping drops maximum times. Going for mnp to BSNL 3G tomorow. BSNL 3G is good in south Gujarat. -

Thats very good news Dr Ali!

Exactly Mr Rajan Mehta. Other handset that can be considered for an average user is Sanyo Zio. World is free to try out more alternatives and achieve cost worthiness. And, there are some LG CDMA handset models that we never heard of here, I mean in this country. Example. Lg Env2, Env3

Excellent contribution Mr Karthik ! LTE Base Transceiver Station (tower) will cater to a radius of upto 100 kms range. Yes. But that doesnt mean Mumbai and Thane will share the same cell site. The bts has an important aspect that is the number of packets it can support at a time at a fixed modulated frequency. It is designed to operate on different number of subscribers (terminals) that can be handled at real time but to a limit. So there has to be a network which also has repeaters and small arrays because communication is always line-of-sight. It will certainly be a boon to Reliance as fewer sites would be required. Moreover BTS sharing and proximal interference will no longer be a problem. Huwaei and ZTE will give excellent vendor pricing for LTE equipment. Verizon is deploying its LTE technical migration to Anritsu.

@ Nis hith you can increase processor speed of your Htc Touch Pro by installing MSM7Kcpuspeed_v2.cab or Neudynamic clock.cab or the latest WinMoSpeed.cab. WinMoSpeed may not work with some custom roms, in that case the author will modify the application suitable for your rom version. Google is your partner for all solutions. Please note that overclocking to a higher frequency can damage your cell. I think TP1 would not go beyond 621 MHZ. Best of luck.

LG Optimus S Cdma Android phone costs Rs 7500 in US. The same can be made to work in India. Search on Google and you will find hundreds of reviews about this device. Some magazines have given a more positive review comparing HTC Droid, Hero and Samsung Epic with LG Optimus S. Wonder why its not described on this forum.

Uninor Introduces Roam Free Offer for Mumbai Customers Traveling To Gujarat
dr.faramroze replied to anshu_s09's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Excellent news! Other carriers should emulate similar offers. But the offer Uninor has given is much more attractive than regular offers. Maybe operators could make it roam free zones for eg. West zone comprizing Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan or Southern zones like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, AP and Kerala. -

Cervical and/or lower back pain also associated with psychosomatic changes in mind-body. Many times radiographs may not show any pathology or degeneration or injury but it is somewhat governed by emotional factors like anxiety, fatigue, work stress, unseen fear and temper. According to a report of NIH usa, cervical pain and/or swelling is directly connected with lack of sleep and overwork. Unusual work timings will increase symptions. X-rays have limited imagery intervention. Sophisticated imagery like MRI will give neurological parameters and nerve conduction status of that particular vertabrae. -

Customs Duty for Shipping Used Motorola Droid X from US?
dr.faramroze replied to rahiljnmc's topic in The Lounge
Be very careful while purchasing on ebay.com (US site), many times due to improper shipment and/or proper channel, the item gets blocked in the customs deptt. Better off is Ebay.in Global Easy Buy which has payment in INR and the MRP includes priority shipping and import taxes and customs prepaid by the international reseller I2C Inc. I2C is a local company handling local US purchases and forward them to the respective countries from where the order has been placed. I2C usually has a good shipping track record, and once it arrives in Mumbai, it ships the item via Bluedart. Ebay.in Global Easy Buy process: Day1 Buyer pays in local currency Day2 Payment confirmed via Paisapay Day3 I2C (newyork) procures the parcel from the seller Day4 I2C sends to India Day7 Item located at customs mumbai Day10 Item given to forwared to Bluedart Day11 Item received in original cosmetic condition -
MNP - Are you Switching your Mobile Operator?
dr.faramroze replied to rajanmehta's topic in Mobile Number Portability (MNP)
Been using Airtel since 2002 and used it a lot during countrywide and international roaming. Our family got a secondary connection each just on the second day of its launch. The only reason to hang on to this service provider was the age old number and Rs 98 for a 2GB net access on my HTC HD2. I got Reliance CDMA on a discarded device in 2003. When it comes to some important call or conversation, RCDMA is ultimate. No other GSM can come close. Got a third connection Tata Docomo, 3 months back and viola, the first attraction was its speed of browsing on the mobile. Call quality is better that Vodafone and also Airtel since the BTS installation is in phase one, the network keeps fluctuating. Overall, if MNP is applicable from GSM->CDMA I would shift all to RCDMA right now. -
In simple language, I explain in this way. Remembering 6 years back, I used to travel daily from Valsad to Mumbai thats 200 Kms. In this distance, I used to get disconnected only at a point in Gholvad and Bhayander. No hello i cant hear you kind of dialogues. Least call failures. Never seen any GSM carrier so versatile. On the highway NH8, there is full network absence only once. Even in jungles and fringle locations where BTS is far spaced. Interestingly, most CDMA phones work well on 2 signal bars. US has one of the best CDMA networks in the world. Sprint, US cellular, Verizon and Bell dominate Cdma in North America. The only drawback faced is handset swapping is not as easy as a sim based gsm device. Cdma subscriber enjoys lower call rates than gsm. Unlocking and flashing a CDMA handset may not be everyone's cup of tea. Reprogramming CDMA is an expert's job. CDMA could not do well except carriers offering cheap phones in India. CDMA Handset registering on carrier website should be made as easy as 123. The day when manufacturers offer OMH sim based Windows, Android and Blackberry phones, it would be named revolution.

TATA Docomo Launch 3G Services on Diwali
dr.faramroze replied to rahulmalik_81's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Tata Docomo has lived with its promise, 3G was to start by Diwali in Gujarat and they have done it so. Now, I got a recharge of Rs 90 for 100 MB 3G, and the speed was much much much better than the oldie Edge. When the 'H' icon on my HTC HD2 appears on 3G, the signal strength weakens, however I have read about 3G networks' depleting signal.
