Hello all, I intend to buy the Micromax X600 in a couple of days but needed some information about the handset - have checked umpteen 'reviews' but none of them give a very clear picture - overall, its the same info given out by the company that ends up being the review. Anyway, the handset's available for Rs 4400 at Nakshatra Mall in Dadar West, Mumbai. What i want to know is:- Dual Sim Functionality vis-a-vis Battery Life: Its advertised as a dual sim phone but some reviews mention dual sim cannot be used due to low battery backup, which is confusing since the official battery life mentioned as per company brochure is 5hrs of talktime. Plus, since there's the Gravity Sensor which means you rotate the handset to access the second sim - does that effectively mean only one sim card can be used at a time. So if I am talking using Sim A, does that mean I don't receive any call on Sim B. I am so confused! Anyone to guide me out.... Thanks

CC: So you want to apply for a new connection? Me: Well, I'd consider buying a new connection but there's no network here. I tried searching for it manually but there's no network. CC: So should I send an executive or give you a mail id for the connection? Me: Hey listen,,you don't seem to be getting what I'm saying. I said I'm not a V Mobile subscriber and tried searching manually for the network but don't seem to find it in the list. Now it'd be useless for me to get a connection if there are no signals. CC: I am confused. You want to apply for the connection? Me: Aargh,,listen fella,,you are beyond me and completely useless in resolving my query. Thanks anyway and goodbye. It was slated to be launched in Mumbai by 7th March,,,can't see any new signal here in Dadar! Uninor had its signals on for a few days,, now they've disappeared!

They have introduced SIMPLY RELIANCE scheme in Mumbai ... which means calls / sms made to any phone in India will now cost just 50ps/min and there's no rental too !!!! Its available on both postpaid and prepaid .... :-) Sounds nice ... .

Loop (BPL Mobile) is bakwaas here in Mumbai ... Despite being here for a whole 15 years, its an incompetent network!

Just hoping that Reliance GSM rolls out cheaper tariffs for Mumbai circle too in contrast to the other GSM operators' usual tyranny of levying comparatively higher tariffs. Once this is done, I am sure the other operators are gonna get kicked in the butt .... [ ]

I do not understand the technical stuff - and if you say CDMA doesn't support that kinda speed, I got to believe you -- although, I alone am witness to the speed that I got then .... I dunno how .. maybe the Almighty was with me that day[ ]

One of my friends has got a TATA USB Modem (Rs.2900). I was a witness to an amazing download speed that he was getting. Consistently high at 150KB/Sec. Equally fast surfing. We checked out the device at his home in Dombivli West - TATA has decent coverage in this area.

I have a doubt. A couple of days back whilst downloading a song from esnips.com, I got a whopping 890KB/sec as my download speed - which, infact, continued over 5 seconds. Voila ! I got my 3.0mb song in 5 seconds ..... How is this possible ? Even generally, download speeds for me start at 70KB/Sec, and settle down around 15-20KB/Sec. I use a Nokia 2865 over a bluetooth DUN cnxn !

Hey guys, The tech show on cnbc tv18 hosted by abhimanyu radhakrishnan had mentioned some episodes about a certain code by which GSM SIM clocks get locked and one can avail of free SMS ... He re-iterated the same stuff today and the code is *#746025625# He had mentioned that it works on nokia cellphones... I tried it both on Dolphin & Hutch networks on my nokia 3200, but it doesnt seem to work ! Anyone tried it before ? Let me know plz !!!! they say approx 2k old hand set samsung n 191 is available for 800Rs max and my friend says he can get one for me at Rs 500. guys ! doesnt it make sense to replace the handset itself per se rather than spending on the repair which costs more than the piece ??? y pay 3k-4k, when you can get a new handset for not more than 2.4k ..... ? that is way.

Ajin, chill man !! y r u getting so hyper ??? its a latest ringtone specially for students. Adults can't hear it. So its sorta secret ringtone, that you can let ur fone have. Even if it rings in class, which prof's gonna notice it anyway .. And if u r still hearing it, means u r a child !!!! We all are children !!!

hey there ! giving a darshan to rimweb after quite a many days. Im facing a real bad problem with rconnect. Automatic disconnections while using the net, umpteen dormancy situations have really become a pain in the b**t. Tried complaining with the customer care lotta times. No use. We are sorry for the inconvenience thats it. No network issues in my area - most of the times i get 4-5 bars of signal. I use a laptop and LG2130 USB data cable. The speed s***s big time. Out of sheer desperation, I wrote to the chairman's office with a warning to throw the fone on mr.ambani's face if the problem doesnt get solved immediately. Got an immediate call from them suggesting me that I check the version of the R connect dialer - its 2.0 ! They asked me to check if anti-spyware/ antivirus / firewall is active on my laptop - it indeed is! Yet after all this, im unable to surf then net properly. Can anyone lend a helping hand ? Plz help me out of this situation... Its IRRITATING !!! Thanks guys !

hey guys, songs are typically available on r world and anyways, the output of the songs is the speaker in the 2130 located just below the red blinker.. What my query was that if we can hear the songs, why cant we hae voice ringtones in 2130 or for that matter even the 2030 ? Reliance will have to do a little modification to enable louder broadcast of those tones thru the hear-piece, but what say guys ??? any techno-wizs' out here willing to experiment ... i aint too sure if this is the right place to post this ....... or has it been discussed somewhere else already ? mods, plzz correct me incase i have erred .... lets ask : Y NOT ???? Just for info sake - if anyone is looking for LG 6000 in Mumbai and are unable to get it anywhere else (officially at the WW) - its still available at 1.) Web World Express, Dombivli (West) Opp. Railway Station. 2.) Reliance Web World, Murbad Road KALYAN (West) Ciao !

I have to admit it now - Reliance's not soo good too. A couple of days back, we faced the worst network coverage in Dombivli. The phone simply didnt show any network bars. The customer care insisted that everything was alright. So the problems have started for me too. Btw here in Dombivli, the phone shows SERVICE AREA to be KALYAN. Does it mean that Reliance depends upon Kalyan's towers to provide services to Dombivli ? Or is it because it is the end of the Mumbai telecom circle so whichever area it is( what the heck ) gets the same name ? Anybody can shed a light on this ?
