Waiting for BPL Mobile in Mumbai to introduce such a prepaid plan ............ Reliance has just broken Airtel's "tradition" of being the FIRST to introduce a new offer vis-a-vis Airtel's claim to be the "FIrst". Yo RIM ! Btw, Ramchi , has airtel brought this offer in your circle only or has it been introduced on a pan-india coverage ? -
MTNL offer: local cell calls at 80 paise/min January 13, 2006 18:34 IST Mahanagar Telecom Nigam Ltd is extending its lifetime validity cards to post-paid mobile segment, under which users have to pay Rs 800 as one-time charge for rent-free connection lifelong and 80 paise a minute for local calls. The public sector unit, which has already launched lifetime validity card in prepaid segment, is launching the post-paid card from January 15 where 80 paise a minute will be charged for local calls to MTNL mobile network while to other networks, it will be Rs 1.20 a minute, the PSU said in a statement. STD call rates to all networks will be Rs 2.40 a minute while activation charges for this connection is Rs 500. MTNL has also reduced its call rates on existing post-paid plans -- Budget, Economy and A&B. "The local call rates on these plans is 75 paise to MTNL (mobile, fixed and WLL networks and to other networks it will be Rs 1.20 a minute. The STD charges will remain at the same level of Rs 2.40 a minute with Rs 500 as activation charges on all plans," it said. Currently, a mobile-to-mobile call within MTNL network costs 90 paise. MTNL's post-paid lifelong users along with other existing Plans can enjoy a 'Half Rate' period during which local calls from Dolphin post-paid mobile to all MTNL networks (Mobile, WLL and fixed) will be charged at half the normal rates between 11 pm-8 am. Dolphin users can select up to three Dolphin/Trump numbers on which local calls will be free by making a monthly rental of Rs 50 per number. The PSU has also waived off roaming charges of Rs 30 a month and security deposit for STD have been reduced from Rs 2,000 to Rs 1,000. A rent free GPRS (General Packet Radio Services) plan has been introduced and usage rates on the Plan shall be 25 paise per kilobytes. MTNLs into the lifetime rentalfree- postpaid scenario too !! Time for Hutch, Airtel and TATA to unleash their respective lifetime offers too for postpaid subscribers.

If i am getting the tariffs on the airtel website right, then each local SMS costs 0.5 paise Is it half a paise ( vis a vis reliance's 1 paise per sms ) or is it supposed to be pegged at 0.5 RUPEE effectively making the cost of a local sms 50 paise ? Can anyone shed light on this? Besides, a statutory warning from my side - AIRTEL cannot be trusted. Plz dont fall in its trap. Their subscriber nos remain mind boggling. How much of it they manage to retain is another story...... -
By entering Maharashtra as HUTCH rather than having a brand name as BPL, I kinda don't think there's going to be any more competition. Its just that the name changes and nothing more. Hutch to hutch std will become cheap. Thats it ! The most important job that Hutch has to do in Maharashtra to succeed is to widen their network coverage. BPLs current network is only in the main cities. On the highways, BPL simply doesnt have any coverage. Lets hope that with the advent of hutch, it helps getting in new offers. Btw amitb22 - spell-check device needed for sure !!!!! :-) LOL !!!

Reliance has announced One India One tariff on both prepaid and postpaid : Prepaid - Recharge with RCV1100 - Get 1100 free sms and validity of one month. Talktime and free sms after 1 month will not be carried forward and will be null and void. Calls to RIM STD at Re.1 per minute. Postpaid - Joy 499. STD at Re.1 per minute to any RIM STD. No additional schemes for postpaid. For those having STD RIMs, NJoi !!!!! -
okiez ..... airtel has the worst network - totally agree ... Trump has quite a better one - almost on par with Hutch in Mumbai. Mohsin, look at Hutch's network in Dombivli - Kalyan.. We have 9 cell sites in Dombivli West and yet thrz an inevitable call drop, voice cracking. I guess the rank for the worst network is in this order : Worst no. 1. Airtel 2. Hutch 3. Trump 4. BPL 5. Reliance . ( TATA is a big unknown - does any outsider other than tata employees really use tata ?? hehe.. ) Anyways, I support Reliance(despite me being a staunch GSM user). Good network, congestion free connections, very affordable and excellent customer care and billing. Let 'em rake in the moolah !!!!
-
RIM subscriber, This offer of Reliance is not vis-a-vis others ( Hutch, Airtel, MTNL ). This was introduced as a talktime offer with a set validity of 3 months or talktime whichever is first. To counter the latest offer by the GSM cos, Reliance will have to bring something new, which is what kalyan_prince is saying.. Lets wait n watch ! Sooner or a little later - thr has to be a new offer from RIM owing to the competition ! H A R S H A D

MTNL Trump has introduced the 1 yr / 2 yr / 3 yr validity vouchers in Mumbai. 1 year for Rs.999 with 100rs talktime 2 year for rs.1600 with rs.300 talktime 3 year for rs.2400 with rs.500 talktime ...... competition is heating up !!!!!!

Ban in Mumbai University on fones in general has been on since a long time now. I was even a part of the anti-mobile squad wherein we could confiscate mobile phones if we found anyone talking inside the college premises. Fortunately for us, we had a special room (only for the squad) where we could practice our mobile speech skills... So anna has come pretty late in that i feel. As for the wacking, WACK GEETA.... Hit her with anything. If you can't find anything to hit with, throw me at her (ofcourse lifitng me would be a herculean task for u ppl ). Can assure u that she will suffocate ! As for my opinion, thrz no solution to the menace just by banning something. Infact, the more the ban, the more the black-activities which may prove 'detrimental' to chicks like Geeta or give her "the reason" to fight this anti-privacy stuff. Btw chirag, whoz this Satyabhama ??? New chick or what ?

The pulse goes down thus effectively meaning the tariff for STD remains the same - high ! I don't know if thats gonna happen, yet I thought that there would be a rise in local tariffs and a drop in STD, thus bringing OneIndia OneTariff. The pulse thingz a little good though for us local guys ... -
I really dont think Reliance offers such bad handsets that they should be embarrasing in public. Try getting a nokia for that matter, if you think LG mite be cheap for u... Btw the price for the data card has dropped to Rs.6500, so u mite try considering that too !
-
hey anujit, i actually saw it on tv.. he showed it on his cell ( was it nokia 8310, guys ?? ) ! It actually showed SIM CLOCK stopped or something like that.. Trump had a different message centre number ( till last year ) which when entered gave absolutely free SMS ( local n national ). Stupid ppl realised it and plugged it. Damn those trump ppl !

Hey I dont thnk its impossible ...... Eg: If I have a Mumbai number 3999 9999 and u have the same Delhi number ..... may be i will dial from my phone 11 39999999 or 95 11 3999 9999 .... vice versa u could call me 95 22 39999999 .....is just tp. For a mobile number i could dial directly 9899 xxx xxx . If u call me it can be 9869xxxxxx .. So the zero i think the OneIndia Plan envisages one tariff for the whole country rather than removing the zero. Once the tariff is ONE what difference does it make if u attach a zero or not ! Wtsay dudes ?? -
i think SIZE also MATTERS for a respectable figure .. More the size, more the respect ( decent equation ). So let the aliens accept me as their deity .... Besides y do u ppl wan2 leave ur gf's and go up there ?
