  1. Hello all, I discovered a russian website which has almost all pin outs of various handheld gadgets avaliable including CDMA Handsets For example I got the pin configuration of Samsung N191 here http://pinouts.ru/data/samsung_n191_pinout.shtml So for all DIY enthusiast can seek information to build there own data cable. The only hardest park would be getting a suitable connector. I am aware that it should be avaliable in Lamington since a freind of my freind built his cable by sourcing the connector for LG FWT from lamington road, mumbai. ----------- Sameer
  2. If the cell is using 18 pin connector then probably you can try to refer to link below http://pinouts.ru/data/lg_common_18p_pinout.shtml Since the above pin configuration is serial based inorder to use it with USB you will need a serial USB interface such as PL2303 -------- Sameer
  3. Surging Network Problems

I am not the kind of guy who gives up things easily but here I do not have a choice. I am pretty happy with GSM whem it comes to voice service but I needed something that will provide with good data service. For data service you do not have a choice other than CDMA, also in which only reliance gives you data access in mobile (Tata is still in beat testting plus it is 2 costly) In my home where I get 5 bars in GSM reliance fails very badly, can't even check the balance so forget getting 144 Kbps inet access. If and only RIL could have done anything ------- Sameer

  7. Surging Network Problems

Dombivili. Thane district. To be honest I have never seen any CDMA phone having less than 3 bars in signal strength. Y I am worried about this because I use RIM for internet access only @ home so if there is no signal or less signal I am stuck ------- Sameer
  8. Surging Network Problems

Hello all, Since two days I am not getting any network @ my home. I earlier thought that this problem could be due to network problems of Samsung N191 so I brought my freinds lg handset and found out that he is also not getting any network. Is this problem generally due to rains? Since my GSM networks signal strength is full? Are others also facing the same problem? Or is it only me? --------- Sameer <TOPIC MOVED!>
  9. By any chance if you can source the name of the dealer that can provide the connectors it would be great help ----- Sameer
  10. Hello all, Since I am not getting any cheap handset for postpaid use I have finally decided to use N191 handset for prepaid use for online access. I had a few question on the same. In the glory days of incoming free I heard that RIM calculates online time only when there is a active datatransfer instead of how long you are are connected like in normal dial up access. For example if I connect wait for some time doing other things but no data transfer I wont be billed for online time. I was wondering wheather this calculation still holds true? Or there billing method changed? -------- Sameer
  11. Cable For Pda's

Hello all, Apologizes incase I am posting to a wrong forum. I am a new member in this forum joined today. I use orange GSM service at moment and quite happy about it. But alas the Internet access via GPRS s**ks and it is way to costly (100 MB for 500 /-) And hence for my dedicated internet access I am planning to get a Reliance Post paid service. Unfortunately the access methods to the phone seems to be limited via Date Cable only i.e No IrDa or Bluetooth but the cables for the PDA are not avaliable almost anywhere. I would like to know has some member able to access the net using there PDA? if yes what method did they use? Are there any Serial port Bluetooth or Ir Dongle avaliable that can be plugged to Lg RD2030 handset? Or does anybody has the Pin configuration for the Handset so that I can atleast try to build custom cable? I own a Sharp Zaurus Sl-5500 PDA that run on Linux. ----- Sameer

  14. Cable For Pda's

Unfortunately no. No pin configuration yet. The search is still on. Before I came across this forum I search widly on net and found a link else where (GSM Hosting forum) but lost the link again. ---------- Sameer
  15. Cable For Pda's

Zthincable cannot fit directly to any phones so it would be 2 messy cable. As for fivestarassoc since there is no option left I ordered a connector for me so that i can build my own cable. Thanks ------------ Sameer
  16. Cable For Pda's

Thanks simrel but I am still stuck no cable manufaturer seems to to support Sharp Zaurus BTW How much did you get this cable for? And from where? -------- Sameer
  17. Cable For Pda's

Actually I was thinking instead of regular data cable some dongle should exsists that connects to LG 2030 translates RS232 to Bluetooth (like the USB Bluetooth Dongle avaliable for PC's) Yes but it is way to costly. Else where in US a CF CDMA cards are avaliable but you cannot use that in India (Damn CDMA communist approach) Reliance does not markets Aircard CF cards so more or less I am stuck. Still does anybody has a Pin configuration for LG handsets? --------- Sameer
