No Oxygen, No Water, No Land, No Light! Total Network !
amtrag replied to @ksh@T's topic in The Lounge
My brother at delhi also faces similar problem...but with his airtel number. So it depends...not that one is better than other in absolute terms. But yes reliance is still to match the highway and railway coverage of gsm. -
No Oxygen, No Water, No Land, No Light! Total Network !
amtrag replied to @ksh@T's topic in The Lounge
^^^ As i have already mentioned in my post #12 above, my handset was working in Delhi metro underground section, and I guess it is atleast 2 levels below ground level. Can anybody from Delhi confirm about network inside the metro? -
That's it. THIS is the customer segment that reliance seems to be targeting....it's not for everybody like us who wants music player, memory, good cam, wi-fi, edge or even 3G etc etc all in one... Hence, before thinking of buying BB, just ask yourself the question: For what purpose do I need a handset and then decide.

How To Re-program Soft Keys On Nokia 6265 & 6275
amtrag replied to Chirag Thakkar's topic in Technical / OS related
There is a patch that you have to download and then execute that .exe file. -
Motorazr is 1.4cm thick...so just 2mm more should certainly be classified as slim. Wondering whether it's good...actually it feels more like "another run-of-the-mill" handset. Nothing special, except that it is lightweight at only 65gm. Inclusion of LED flashlight feature is welcome.

True, I also have creative 2.1 and they are really good. Have never listened Altec Lansing but I feel they should also be equally good..but they are costlier. For music, 2.1 is sufficient, 5.1 or 7.1 is useful only if you have Dolby Digital or DTS encoded content i.e. DVD's. If the original sound is recorded in 2 channels, there's no point in playing it thru' 5 channels...anyway they'll be collectively playing only 2 channels. The thing to look for in .1 systems is the RMS power of the sub-woofer....should be 20-30 watts atleast for good thump...lower powered systems would have more boom than thump.

Could'nt agree more. Creative inspires are good. First get these speakers and enjoy good quality 320 kbps mp3's. Once you have used them for a few days or so, get a creative Audigy soundcard (should cost appx 1100 as quoted to me by one shopkeeper). Now you will notice the difference and improvement in sound quality and the same system would start sounding even better. Pl excuse me, but bose is not above all. Bose sat-sub systems have lower frequencies coming from the woofer while the upper-end is produced from the small satellites and the mid-range is almost missing. The excess of lows and highs helps in masking the deficiency in the midrange...that is bose.

No Oxygen, No Water, No Land, No Light! Total Network !

I had been to New Delhi about an year ago. And while traveling in the metro rail underground section, there was full signal almost throughout. But yes, there was coverage problem in ghaziabad border areas (I was staying in my bro's place at Kaushambhi). But then all networks are weak in this place ...Airtel, Hutch (then it was hutch). -
R-world runs in the browser. So go to r-world > press "menu" soft-key>find "goto url" and enter the url to start surfing. OR press and hold "0" key to start the browser. Or better still, download opera browser...it's much more fun to use than the default built-in browser.

I guess it's becoz of either the LCD connector has a problem or the LCD driver chip itself has malfunctioned. Anyway, get it checked at a nokia service center ...this advice is too obvious is'nt it?

HC card is supposed to work...is it not working? or you don't want to use HC card?

Theme For Nokia 6255
amtrag replied to mary's topic in Ringtones / Wallpapers / Themes / Applications / Games
I don't think it supports themes... Are there any default themes present in the handset? If no, then probably it does not support. -

The above link is getting redirected to Reliance Comm. homepage (i.e. http://www.rcom.co.in/webapp/Communications/home.jsp) But atleast it proves that soon there will be a website for blackberry by Reliance.

Yes the display goes blank..it happens only when you use the flash. The flash recharge time is much less in cameras using 4 AA cells...my old Powershot A10 (2001 model) used to charge the flash in hardly 2-3 seconds. And my Nikon L6 used to take even longer 12-15 secs!

We have already crossed the point of no return...cellphones are but an invasion of our privacy and we have become slaves of technology... and this is the cost we have to pay. The govt can tap any phone if they feel it is reqd for the nation's security and ofcourse, permission is not sought from the end-user in such cases... So dear the system has already invaded our lives and as i said, we have reached the point of no return. Don't you know they are going to install "x-ray vision" cameras at major airports in India (already in use abroad) which shows naked images of people going thru' it! So what to do???
-
Hotel rooms??? Next in line is cameras in your bathrooms! But the terrorist threat has become so serious that something has to be done and the lives of thousands of innocent people is more precious than cybercafe privacy. Atleast we should not login into our bank accounts or use credit cards online from cyber cafes...be careful on our part is what we can do.

Dear, it is not the thickness or weight of the battery but rating in mAh that decides the capacity. BL-6C is 1100 mAh...don't know about BL-5C. But if put in identical use, the one with higher mAh will last longer.

Congrats for the new toy buddy!

Dear rajeshkatiyar, I mentioned that with 15-20 mins of daily use i have got 3 days and 2.5 days was the avg i was getting. Now 15-20 mins per day is fair usage for an avg person (...I don't have a job profile which requires extensive calling neither do I have a girlfriend ) ...until I shifted to some other location and now it hardly lasts 1.5 days. Closeness to the tower is not the only criteria for getting good signal...have'nt you heard the saying "diya tale andhera hota hai"

Yesterday I heard on TV headline that one LG phone had burst...but didn't have enough patience to sit thru' all those breaks before watching the complete story as the one day match had already started.
-
It's still working in 2865...will also check in 6235 and tell.

Agree. But only problem...rather limitation, with torrents is that somebody else needs to be seeding...and also, it is not "on-demand" in the true sense of the word. If its an older movie, then you have to request someone to seed it. Compare this with the convenience of free home delivery and pick-up which they are going to start shortly. And by the way, I have recently subscribed to seventymm.com and am now enjoying the movies sitting at home (I've got one month free unlimited promo plan).

Please forward my name just in case rajeshkatiyar is unable to demonstrate again the 4 days standby time...becoz I have been able to squeeze out >72 hours (i.e. 3+ days) with 15-20 mins of talking per day ...probably the network was very good that day...and since last 2-3 days, I am in a poor network location and it is hardly lasting 1.5 days. Bottomline: It all depends on the network strength apart from usage and quality of battery or handset

@coolrajiv: You misunderstood my point about fake batteries. I meant those aftermarket batteries which people buy as replacement and not the originals coming with the box-packed phones. And I would still say: Nokia batteries are safer than those cheap ones available for 50-100 rupees. And in case people use such batteries and they explode then I don't understand how could Nokia be held responsible? (now don't think that I work for nokia or whatever...I am just saying what I think is fair). Regarding comfort zone: I would say there is no need to be paranoid about bursting batteries...traveling on Indian roads is much more riskier than the chance of a nokia battery "exploding" in your hands, so does it mean one should stop traveling on the road?
