I tried this...even installed diego succesfully. But when I run the app, it gives an error msg " Unable to locate Nokia service cable. Exiting applcation" and exits. Now what could be the reason? Have I got the wrong version? (although it is 3.09)
-
Finally succeeded in dopwnlaoding Diego. But, now while installation, it gives message that "version of PC connectivity driver is newer than Diego, hence installation will not continue" and it aborts. So unable to install. Would ver 3.08 work with 2865?

Hi, Badly in need of Diego....unable to find it anywhere on the net. Can somebody pm me a download link?

I had also installed OPM but it did not connect to my 2865..tried changing port settings etc etc... Could somebody explain in short the procedure to connect to the phone? And a basic question...what is the advantage in using Oxygen over Nokia PC suite?

6275i is the version supporting GPS. Since reliance network does not support GPS, they have launched 6275 (i.e. without GPS).

Just go to message settings and check whether it is saving msgs only on UIM card. If yes, change option to phone memory. But, otherwise even I am not sure about the max limit.

That's a great news!

Vcd, Mp3, Dvd, Cd Player All In 1, 4000-5000 Watts
amtrag replied to chandannasta's topic in The Lounge
What Kshah said is absolutely true. Now, regarding installment schemes, don't take any such scheme directly from the showroom. The interest they charge is very high...18-20% p.a. or even more and they also ask for initial downpayment of 20-30% of the cost. Instead, take a personal loan which you will get at a rate of 14-15% max and you can get finance for your system for 100% of the cost. -
Arrest Ambanis For Not Providing New Cellphone: Kolkata Court
amtrag replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Communications
This issuing of warrants against the "maaliks of the company" is really stupidity at it's height... Why? If you have a complain against BSNL, would the courts issue warrants against the Telecom minister?? ...never Or if you don't get to sit in a train despite having a valid ticket or even reservation, would the railway minister get arrested??? ..the answer is again NO. -
Hi guys, I just upgraded to 2265. It's a damn cool handset...with BT, IR, wap. I am trying to download midi & mp3 files from mobile9.com. The files are played on the handset but there's no option to save it...even themes are displayed but I cannot save them. Has anyone been able to save any multimedia content on 2265 from mobile9 or any other wap site? Though I am able to save and install .jar files from getjar.com .

As reliance has license for both GSM & CDMA (in few circles like MP, bihar, WB etc), they can also upgrade to WCDMA & EVDO in GSM & CDMA resp. But don't know whether govt would allow or not?

Thanks Arun. And Happy Birthday to our RIMWEB

I had bought a new battery for this handset from WW for Rs.550 (if I remember correctly). So expect it to be slightly costlier at the service center...appx 600+ bucks And I guess you won't get the original anyway at manish market because this phone was launched thru' reliance and original accessories were also available only at WWs and service centers.

How Much Rest Should A Pc Be Given?
amtrag replied to tanveer's topic in General Technical Discussion
Thanx linuxguy, I also thought that NTFS does not get fragmented...but alas...it is a myth...yes a MYTH! Proof is my own workstation...a P4 with 256 mb ram, 40 GB hdd with Win XP...as of today, it has a file fragmentation of 42%... -
How Much Rest Should A Pc Be Given?
amtrag replied to tanveer's topic in General Technical Discussion
I've heard (or rather read) that unless you have lots of RAM (1 Gb or so), the page file on the hdd becomes fragmented, so it is good to reboot the system once a while. Coming to power saving, if you are sure your pc is going to be idle for few hours or even mins, its better to hibernate it to save power, rather than keep it running...when you restart it, it gives the same effect as if it was running throughout..and power consumption is also absolutely nil for that period. -
Reliance Communication To Enter Gsm Services
amtrag replied to abhay's topic in Reliance Communications
There's contrary news on ET: Click here for the link As per ET, ZTE has signed deals with RIL and not Reliance Communications... -
As far as charger with 3 pins is considered, I guess this is done to enhance electrical safety. The charger of LG 2030 had 2 pins but later models have 3-pin...even Samsung has 3-pin chargers. But yes, it is sometimes inconvenient.

As far as pricing is concerned, I think LG is one of the most honest guys....WHY? In GSM, just see Nokia or Motorola handsets: Nokia 6600 was launched at appx Rs.18-20K, and now you get it for around 8K or lesser...and Motorazr was launched for >20K and is now selling for Rs.8999 or even lesser (and all with bill). Compared to this, LG does'nt drop their price atleast this much! So why blame LG or Reliance alone for this...all are same. But yes, coming back to the issue of charging a price for s/w upgrade, I too belive its not fair. After all, the bug is also becoz of LG's programmer's and not becoz of user's fault.

Any Radiation Harm Due To Bluetooth Headset
amtrag replied to jigshot1's topic in Reliance Communications
Just think...range of BT is just a few metres compared with the range of cellphones which could communicate with the towers several kilometres away. So, naturally, the strength of radiation from BT should be much less -
I don't know about compression advantage bcoz have not tried...but as per wikipedia: Quote "MPEG-4 Part 14, formally, ISO/IEC 14496-14:2003, is a multimedia container format " "Almost any kind of data can be embedded in MPEG-4" Unquote Since it is just a container format and not an encoding format by itself, I doubt whether it will improve compression and that too by 50%.

You can download the PC Sync manager from lgmobiles.com website. Download & install the LG 6130 version...it will work. I have been using it successfully with my 6130.

mp4 is meant for audio-video, so unless you have video streams to be added, there should not be any advantage...and by the way, mp4 & m4a are technically same, the user can change extensionn to m4a if the file contains audio only, even mp4 xtn works as well for audio only files.

Battery standby time also depends on network signal strength...do check whether you are in a poor coverage area?

From a shop...obviously. Be more specific in your question in case you want to know about the nearest retailers around you area or something like that...
