Of course dear, a RUIM won't convert a GSM handset to CDMA... but RUIM lets a user carry the same identity from cdma network to gsm network i.e. phone number would remain same.

It's basically the CDMA equivalent of a GSM SIM. Don't have a tutorial on me right now...you could try googling CDMA RUIM.

Right Puneet, it's a valid point. The number series are allotted to licence holders....so i also feel they would offer 93 series in their future gsm circles. Well,I donot know about other places in India but in Mumbai it will be available from next week at Nokia shops.I have told that Nokia dealers will provide this handset next week.I donot know when will Reliance officially launch the handset.I have spoken to 4-5 Nokia dealers in MUMBAI and all are saying Nokia 6265 will be available next week for sure.I have booked my handset so lets see when I get the handset.I will surely keep you'll informed. Now I won't believe anybody (...nothing personal on you Schumi...) until it is actually launched. So let's keep on waiting and watching...

I think it should be possible. The distinctive number series' allotted to different operators like 99X to Airtel, 92x to Tata, 93X to Reliance and so on...is not dependent on the technology used by the operators. So it should not matter whether the same 93 number is on cdma platform or gsm platform. But, ultimately the decision would lie with reliance whether to offer the same number or not? and maybe, it might become an issue from a regulatory point of view also.

Exactly. I too have been using 6130 and I think, its the best R-world supported model after LG 2030.

And I too got 160 kbps throughput speed (as shown in R-connect dialer) and download speed of upto 15-16 Kbps .

As per reliance, it does nto support r-connect. But I don't know whether it does not have a modem at all or it is only disabled.

You are very much correct..these type of services are usually targetted towards business users, who anyway don't have to pay the bills out of their own pockets! So high price is not a big issue...

MMS to email is not working since ages...or atleast since last 1 1/2 years. It used to work till the time mms and r-world were not chargeable.

yes, its possible on Kyocera PDA...it uses R-connect for surfing and not wap.

yeah, go for LSP-350. It's much better than lsp-340 (feature-wise & battery backup). Though LSP-350 & 400 are virtually similar, LSP-400 does not have r-connect.

Well, this problem has been discussed at length long ago. Anyway, just press a few keys after connecting the charger...in some cases it used to trigger the backlight to switch itself off. Just try and tell...

Any plan (postpaid or prepaid) could be cheap or expensive.....it all depends on type and amount of usage of an individual. Normally, for heavy usage (especially std calls), postpaid works out to be cheaper...but ofcourse it may not hold true in some cases... So, when writting any generalised statement as one above, pl also explain the reason why you think so.

MTNL Garuda (cdma) is limited mobility mobile service (if i am correct). You can use it only in one city, no roaming.

I discussed this with a techie friend of mine and he explained that sometimes, the file download process breaks in between and due to a bug, when it resumes, it forgets the time that was taken to download the existing piece. So the download speed is recalculated as if the existing piece was download in negligible time, and hence, avg speed appears to be much higher than theoretically possible. So guys, this could be an explanation...don't forget there could always be bugs present in softwares...

sorry buddy I don't think anybody here knows how to upload a ringtone in sch191 but as far 6130 is concerned PC Sync or bitpim may help Vishal Ringtone directory is hidden in 6130 when accessed thru bitpim. So nobody has yet been able to upload ringtones in 6130. Only known method till date is thru the mms portal.
