Sometimes I also face similar problem on my LG 6130, I keep on trying to download and finally it succeeds. You also try a few times....else it could be a software issue of 6230.
-
I completely agree with you Kalyan_prince. They always keep printed price much higher... But LG 2030 costing Rs.10500 is different issue, even a nokia 3310 gsm used to actually cost Rs.6500 in those times.

One India / One Nation / One Rupee Plans by various operators
amtrag replied to kcvvenkit's topic in The Lounge
The free mobile phone .. actually a PDA...being offered by BSNL is for a monthly rental of Rs.999 and not one time charge of Rs.999 for lifetime. So don't confuse this offer with the lifetime offers being given by mobile companies for Rs.999. -
The point is they cannot charge more than the "MRP", but anyone is allowed to give discounts... If they are overcharging, we should definitely complain.

Why Cant We Talk More Than 60mins In A Do
amtrag replied to @ksh@T's topic in Reliance Communications
It used to happen in postpaid too...I had purchased a prepaid Hutch sim and later, got it converted to a postpaid connection. And all thru' it used to disconnect after 30mins. -
And what does that mean? This story is NOT a made up story. i can give proofs if needed. I am sure I'll find that day's newspaper. And I also have true stories...am sure you all would also have read in any newspaper... ...that a cop commits suicide out of depression...or a cop runs amock shooting a couple of peers...do you think they do it because someone like you or me denied him his Rs.50 bribe? No man...there IS a problem which is indeed very serious. Atleast I don't believe that cops are corrupt by birth and we techies/managers/students etc are very honest by birth... I don't agree with this kind of philosophy. It amounts to saying "to hell with you, you are in a deep s***t because you deserved it...There are millions of educated people who are simply jobless and although they might not be as intelligent & competetive as most of us here, but still they do deserve a better paying job.
-
Well, I am not at all in favour of nor am I glorifying a bad deed. But what you said is too superficial..and I am indicating too a problem that runs much deeper than just plain black & white ...good or bad. What i am trying to say is not that given the conditions of the policemen, it is justified for them to take bribe...but what are the real problems that compel a policeman to take bribes?

This is exactly the point I was coming to... They are supposed to survive on a meagre salary (equivalent to grade IV govt employee). I don't think their salaries are even into 5 digit figures... . And just imagine their working conditions...normally no weekly offs, 12-18 hours duties, working in most adverse and even life-threatening conditions, all this in times when ae are talking of our own salaries running into several lakhs per annum. Yeah, I started at a salary that was more than what my father (he's an engineer) was earning at a good position. In such a scenario..I mean, when avg incomes have simply sky-rocketed thru' the last few years, are'nt they supposed to be paid a little better? And just imagine the frustration the face...no promotions (in a real sense), not much hike in salaries (unlike us who simply jump jobs at 1.5 to 2 times current ctc). I feel, the root of the problem runs much deeper than simply a case of "To or Not To" bribe Rs.50.

Why Cant We Talk More Than 60mins In A Do
amtrag replied to @ksh@T's topic in Reliance Communications
I used to talk on my hutch to my gf and everytime it used to disconnect after exactly 30 minutes. I was in Bangalore at that time. I was told by hutch execs that this was done to prevent a call lasting till eternity (or atleast till the battery lasted) in case of a call being set-up unintentionally. -
I also enquired at a WW and got the correct/ complete picture regarding price of 5430. The ones available now are pre programmed with free talktime of Rs.2006 (for calls to any network, not just rim-rim) and come at a price of Rs.4299/- so effective price is only Rs.2293. So, amitnk, you could actually try to bargain with any retailer for giving it to you at a discount and without any free talktime. I don't know whether this is feasible but you could atleast give it a try!

You must be kidding, right! Lets compare apples with apples, I dont think you have used an advanced Nokia phone (N series) or any if the other advanced phones in the market. And your best phone only plays MJP format (no 3gp, no avi, rm, mpeg) ? I onle heard of it when I was using my 7230. I think this is used by LG phones only. To put it in another way...your Nokia phones do not play mjp...right? It is a matter of perspective dear...when 70-80%(its a guesstimate) of the handsets on the reliance network are LG, and considering there are more than a crore subscribers in reliance, then a video format does not matter that much. Yeah I know, now you would say that all free downloads on the net are not in .mjp format but you could easily download loads of 3gp files from the net. But considering the price of N series phones (appx 35K), you cannot anyway compare them with sub-10K handsets.

This old war-horse is still running (or should I say Galloping) perfectly after 2 years & 11 months. Of course, I don't expect the keypad and exteriors to stay in brand new condition after almost 3 years of continuous use. And it still supports more number of R-world apps than most of the latest handsets in the market today

Just now enquired at Nokia customer care on 30303838. As per them, they are not associated with any website nokiaind.com. Their only official India website is nokia.co.in So guys, this nokiaind.com seems to be a likely fraud...else how could they sell a brand new 6255 cdma for Rs.4500?

Fevin, Its very simple to convert in PSM player. First open the .dat file in PSM player, then press the red record icon and save as .mid. (don't forget to first check the "create midi" option in the File menu) And thats it...you have a normal .mid file which you caould send to your 6130 as a ringtone.
-
thanks ...yar but i hav sent many .mid files thorough RIM MMS portal ... but this files (from RIMWEB) , seems very small in size (around 4 KB).... Hope thats y it's not working .... any idea to convert .dat file to .mid ?/// pls comment Fevi... Use PSM Player to convert dat to midi. The .dat format you downloaded from rimweb is specifically meant for LG-2030 handset. while LG-6130 does support .mid files and small size is not an issue as long as it is a valid file format.

It is charged Rs.3 per mms.

One India / One Nation / One Rupee Plans by various operators

One rate for local mobile.......another for local landline.......yet another for std...............then what is Unified man??? Compare to reliance's offer of Re.1 to any phone.......any network..........any distance........now this is what is called unified (ofcourse rental is much higher but that is another issue) -
4 (and not 6) new Kyocera models launched in Hyderabad. Price ranges from 4000 to 12000 appx. All models are color. 1 is slider, and another 1 has camera. And this is confirmed news guys.

That is why they say: "Seeing is believing". Anyway, i already mentioned that i am not a heavy user now and use about 500 minutes a month i.e. 15-20 mins a day and I always get 100% signal strength... In such a situation, I do get 2 days backup.
-
I don't agree, This phone has got one the best batteries among LG cdma handsets. I am currently using one, and the battery lasts for 2 days on an average. Although I must admint that I am not a heavy user (about 500 mins per month). By the way, long back in 2003, when I had 2030, I used to talk 1-1.5 hours at a stretch every day and the battery used to die-out in 2 hours. So its not just the battery quality alone but also your usage and network strentgh that decides the back-up time.
-
With the kind of money these guys have got, they can prevent anyone phone company from tapping their phones, unless the phone company belongs to the opponents themselves....I think this is the rationale behind such a move.
-
Well it depends on what you want to use it for...if mainly as mp3 player, then it is memory size that matters most, hence Nokia 6235 could never match LG6230. But if you want to play around and like to experiment with it, then LG could never match Nokia.
