  1. Using Emergency Nos. In Rd2030?

Rajat, You are right, any number could be stored, but how do I access the emergency nos 2 & 3 ? They do not get displayed in the phonebook.
  2. Unable To Hear Rings If Handsfree Attached

Yes Shabbooo, I agree with you. Its a feature and not a bug. For example, if u r in a meeting and also expecting an imp call, then this is quite useful, so that all other people are not disturbed.
  3. Accessing PhoneBook in RD2030

I've found another bug related to phonebook. I use ver 15. First, a little background...there is a feature in the phone where you can assign any ringtone to a phonebook entry. So, if you don't want to assign any particular ringtone, you should go to the phonebook entry and select 'None" for the ringtone. Now the bug...Whenever I save a new no., it automatically assigns itself to the current default ringtone, so that even if I change the default tone, I still hear the same ringtone which was the default when that no. was saved. I say this is a bug, bcoz if each name of the phonebook attaches itself to the ringtone which was default when the no. was saved, then there's no sense in having a global default tone. So if a person whose no. is saved in my phone calls me, I might hear any ringtone instead of the current default. Its not desirable bcoz I might have changed the default ringtone to some loud-sounding one while going out in heavy traffic, but still some other ring would sound when a person calls and I might fail to hear it due to high noise. Also, I don't think this bug was there in earlier versions i.e. 11 or 8. People having older versions could also check.
  4. Why Does My Rconnect Become Dormant Always

Y dont u try logging the amt of time u've used RConnect for, and make sure u note down the time from loggin in to Loggin out. And then check the same in the forthcoming bills. I think tht the way Greens says, it works. And don't forget to enable Itemised bill (send "ITEM YES" to 3733). You'll see R-connect usage mins utilised from your 400 mins monthly quota and also any extra usage over and above the dapo mins.
  5. Why Does My Rconnect Become Dormant Always

yeah, Greens is right. You're charged for the entire session, irrespective of dormant phases in between. When the phone goes into dormancy, you are still connected to reliance server, You are not authenticated again when the phone comes out of dormancy and again places a data call. Dormancy is a feature only to allow incoming calls. It is a smart solution to a problem like expecting an imp call, so not connecting to the net till we receive that call (or maybe don't receive it at all).
  6. Cheap Handsets / Poor Quality

Well Emmi, extending your logic, if reliance orders even more (much much more) pieces, the cost would further drop...and tend towards ZERO??? I don't buy your reasoning...there are 2 components of cost in any manufactered item..fixed and variable. Only variable cost could become almost zero, but there's always a fixed cost associated with it, irrespective of the volumes. Maybe I am deviating a little bit from the topic of this discussion...but could'nt stop myself! Guys, tell me if I am wrong?
  7. The new 10 digit numbering plan is for correct billing between different operators. For example, if a GSM user in Delhi calls a long distance RIM no. in Mumbai, then the GSM "exchange" at Delhi has to decipher whether the call is std call to a mobile or std call to a landline...and depending on the type of std call, they have to charge the user. In today's scenario, the only way out for GSM cos. is to actually have a database of all RIM nos (or atleast series of RIMS and Reliance Fixed lines) so that they know whether the called no. is RIM (mobile) or Reliance FWP/FWT. This is so because originally RIM was equivalent to basic service, but now it is at par with mobiles. So, post new numbering plan, if a number starts with 93, it would be treated as mobile...and reliance fixed line phone nos. would be starting with 3.
  8. as far as I know from my own experience, you will be charged on pro-rata (i.e. per day) basis...
  9. Bitpim Sync Errors

Exactly, i was also facing problems with ver 7. Then i downgraded to .62 and it always runs smoothly. Since ver .7 is a beta ver, so there might be some new bugs that are'nt there in .62 I had advised Scuzzy to use ver .62 a few days ago. click this link to read: http://www.rimweb.com/forums/index.php?sho...findpost&p=4505
  10. Bitpim Sync Errors

Hi maniktushar, although i'm not a techie, but since backup is a read-only operation, the error should not be a serious one. but i'm not sure. By the way, why do you want to reboot your phone, you can charge your battery without rebooting...
  11. R-connect Charges

Hi emmi, I did'nt get this last one. Do you mean we should use rconnect only when outside? If you have lg 2030, you could use it even at home without worrying about battery. It is possible by keeping the phone on the desktop charger while using rconnect so that it simultaneously gets charged. Also, i'm not sure whether you don't get charged for mins while in dormancy mode...
  12. Hi Scuzzy, Maybe I could help you. I installed R-connect software in windows XP. Then I installed Bitpim ver 6 (NOT the latest version 7). You need not install any other drivers etc if your rconnect is working fine. It already has a usb-serial converter (or whatever...does'nt matter to me as long as it works fine). So, in short, if your rconnect is working in win XP, then you just need to install bitpim ver 6.x and you should be able to access lg rd 2030file system...and do all those things mentioned in this forum. and mind all of you guys, i'm not at all a techie...I just use common sense! hope it helps you Scuzzy, all the best!
  13. Read/Write/Delete your Yahoo/Hotmail

Hi all, I also faced the same problem, the link was dead. I went to the homepage and from there, i successfuly reached the sigup page. Here's the direct link to the sign-up page: https://www.mymail.ie/mymail/signup.asp hope it works for you too!
  14. Recording The Conversation.

Hi guys, In principle, it should work, as explained by staticelectricity. there are 3 wires in the handsfree cable, one is common ground, 1 for mic and 1 for earpiece. earpiece signal should go to line-in and mic signal to be connected to mic-in of taperecorder (or ampli). If we want to listen to the conversation over a speaker, it defintely has to be amplified. The pre-amp built inside the phone does not have enough power to drive any external speaker (or even other headphone). It should also not be tried to directly drive a speaker, as it might cause irreversible damage to the phone. I think its too much of details for now...ask any audio related questions, and I'll try to answer them, bye
  15. Hi all, I am posting for the second time, have almost got adddicted to this forum. I was also facing the same problem of bitpim not getting in the first attempt, then I downgraded the bitpim version to 6 from 7. And now it always connects the very first time!
