Ringtones For LG RD 2030 & LG RD 5130
amtrag replied to Arun's topic in Ringtones / Wallpapers / Themes / Applications / Games
Hi Guys, Posting two ringtones by Boney_M... They have come up nice, although a bit low in volume: Boney_M.zip -
hi, The best solution, known till date is to use bitpim ver .62 as already advised by me long back, and now confirmed by Code above... I use Win XP with bitpim ver .62 & USB cable, and my success rate is >99%. Whenever I restart my phone, I close bitpim and then start it again...and it never gives any errors, I don't have to try a second time! Restarting bitpim everytime requires a 'bit' of patience though...

Here's the link to one such software: click here to download It's a shareware, to be able to save the midi files you need to purchase it.

Hi Karpar, Your question is a tough nut to crack... anyways, I found some related write-up, do read it. Although it does not completely answer and solve your query, still an interesting read... QUOTE: What is MIDI format? MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) format is a sequence of commands to control one or more pieces of musical hardware or software such as synthesizers or sequencers. These commands are not sounds, they are instructions to do something (mostly to generate sound). For example: select Instrument #1 (Acoustic Grand Piano), play Note #60 (C5) with Velocity #127. So you cannot represent, for example, human speech in MIDI format, but you can edit any note or change any instrument in music recorded in MIDI file. What is Music Recognition? In a few words music recognition is mathematical analysis of audio signal (usually in WAVE format) and its conversion into musical notation (usually in MIDI format). This is a very hard artificial intelligence problem. For comparison, the problem of recognition of scanned text (OCR - Optical Character Recognition) is solved with accuracy 95% - it is an average exactitude of recognition of the programs of given class. The programs of speech recognition already work with accuracy 70-80%, whereas the systems of music recognition work with accuracy 60-70% but only for single voice melody (one note at a time). For polyphonic music the accuracy is even lower. To create a MIDI file for a song recorded in WAVE format a musician must determine pitch, velocity and duration for each note being played and record these parameters into a sequence of MIDI events. A music recognition software must do the same things. Even for single instrument song it is not a simple task, because a WAVE recording contains waveform signals and doesn't contain any music specific data. In general case the variety of music timbres, harmonic constructions and transitions makes it impossible to create a mathematical algorithm for precise reconstruction of music score from audio source. It is hard to recognize audio data which contains many instruments, drums and percussion or clipping signals, unstable pitch sounds and background noises. However, in many cases AKoff Music Composer will produce a MIDI material that represents the basic melody and chords of recognized music Copyright © 1998-2000 AKoff Sound Labs. UNQUOTE.

Hi Austin, For DAPO, the per min usage charge is 40 paise/min. Over and above that, you also have to pay a flat charge of Rs.200 per month, irrespective of actual usage. Fortunately, the 200rs fee is on pro-rata basis, so that whnever you know are not going to surf the net for an entire day, just deactivate it (by *4120), and re-activate only when you need it.

QUOTE from www.t9.com: " Want T9 to learn your words –even if they’re not “NORMAL”? Though your mobile phone’s T9 dictionary comes with thousands of words, your way of communicating is all your own. T9 combines what it already knows about language with what it learns about you. Many of the words and expressions that you use are unique, and T9 might not recognize them at first. All you need to do is let T9 get to know you, and your text will have a flavor and style that is all you. If T9 doesn’t recognize the word you’re trying to enter, switch to multi-tap, enter the word, and T9 will know it next time. T9 also pays attention to the words you use most often and will learn to display those first. " Karpar, You are absolutely correct, this is THE method for adding your own words to t9 dictionary. Hi Niket, Do you mean that you can hear the actual conversation of your last few calls or you can just listen to the call details?
-
Hi Niket, What exactly is it? Does it enable you to navigate the menu by voice commands? Do give the feedback...asking you just out of curiosity.

Although I am not at all a legal expert, but I think that using any company's logo without their consent could be "Infringement of Trademark". So it might be a legal issue.

Robscape is still there on 2030...i played it just now.

Hi all, There are 3 emerency nos. stored in LG RD2030. How do I dial them? I figured out that emergency no.1 could be dialled by pressing 9+Call. But what about others? They are not even displayed in the phonebook.
-
Bored, I don't agree with you on this. Why? see below: 1. No. of phonebook entries in RD2030 is 299 (001 to 299) and that is "including" the locations reserved for emergency nos, (I say this bcoz entry 9 (for example) is invisible thru phonebook as it is reserved for emergency. So there are no separate locations for emergency nos. 2. Shortcut 1 is not emergency (atleast in my phone) bcoz it can be accessed thru phonebook search and edited like any other normal entry. Also, another intriguing ocurrence is that if I edit emergency 1 thru menu+5+4+3, then how does the phone still remember the emergency no. 100. Maybe, emergency nos which we edit thru menu are actually different from the ones we access using shortcut key 9?
-
Hi Arun, I have saved most of the ringtones from RIMweb to my machine (excluding a few that I did'nt like) and I also have a small additional collection of midis/dats. Will try to mail you asap...
-
Bored, How does it matter whether a shortcut is reserved? it is just a pointer (to location #9 in this case) of the phonebook memory...so when I have changed the contents of that location itself(i.e. edited the no.from 100 to my landline no), it should dial my no. now. But, whenever you press 9+call you will see your phone always dialling 100. And just now, I've discovered something new: I edited emergency 1 to my landline number. Now when I dialled my landline no. by typing the digits, it dislpayed as "Emergency...<My no>". So, does it mean that the emergency no we accessthru' shortcut 9 is different from Emergency 1 we see in Menu+5+4+3? In that case, we could actually have 6 emergency nos!
-
You can not download games... you could just paly them in r-world, as you rightly thought.
-
maybe because of the difficult hilly terrain and also to save the time reqd in laying the fibres...so why not use the ones already available
-
Bored, I think you did not get my point. Putting it in other words, I mean that even if you change the emergency number to any other no, still the number dialled would be the default one...no matter which no you stored by editing it thru Menu+5+4+3 (in LG-2030). For example, I changed emergency1 to my landline no ...then dialled it by pressing 9+call, it still showed "Emergency...100" as the dialled no.
-
I saved my landline no.in "Emergency 1" and then dialled it. But I heard "this no is not reachable" message. When I tried to dial the same no by typing the digits and calling, the call got thru. I confirmed this by repeating several times and at different time of day. So, I think that there is no use changing the emergency nos to any other than the defaults ones. It is not clear then why there's such a facility to change them in the first place...
-
Oh...you meant ping...I thought there is some facility in the phone or rconnect s/w. Anyway, thanx.
-
Hey Code, is there really an option to disable Dormancy, in LG-2030? If yes...how?
-
I don't think the battery gets charged automatically when using usb cable. It has happened so many times with me that during surfing, the battery gets drained and the phone switches-off by itself, with a msg "Low battery...". (I use LG 2030+USB cable). In usb cables, there is a side-port for connecting travel charger. But, there is another easier solution than purchasing a travel charger for LG...just place ur mobile on a desktop charger while surfing....most of us already know this?

Connecting RIM To A Wi-fi Network
amtrag replied to wi_fi_On_board's topic in Technical / OS related
Nice piece of information! But I don't understand when there already are so many cellular mobile networks available, why do they want to install another...maybe it would give much higher speeds becoz of its dedicated nature/ improved technology. Does anyone know what is the connection speeds such "hot-zone" networks offer? Wireless internet is already available on RIM cdma network..and its not just limited to a zone..rather its a national network. -
Great find Vishal, Now the next logical step would be to find out what is the max file size we could save like this.
-
Ashok, Rconnect is charged on per session basis i.e. starting from when you dial upto the time when you disconnect...irrespective of the intermediate idle or even 'dormant' periods. And yes, monthly charge for r-connect mobile users is on prorata basis...my own personal experience. Charges are waived 100% upto 30 june for users who activated before 15th aug and 50% for those who activated before 30th nov.
