OK. Got it. But then this is what we are debating: Apple manages to sell even with slightly lower specs. What I feel is that its like a cat and mouse game: What matters is who eats whom and not who is ahead in the paper specs race. And it is clear that Apple is eating other for breakfast, lunch & dinner too!

?? Sorry dont get this point. I thought Iphone/pad take 1 year to become obsolete.
-
we keep our ipad2 at home since 3g on airtel and rgsm was too slow on wifi its fine but there would be others like us who did not buy it for 'snob value' an iphone / ipod is different since you will usually carry it with you most places and others will notice Point taken. But majority do buy it for snob value. And I've seen people in packed Mumbai locals using Ipads. Remeber that ad? "If its not an Iphone .... well...its not an Iphone! " This line has gone down too well with the masses.

+1. Exactly what I too feel. The wow factor is the greatest in Apple products. So who needs a slightly better hardware, say like Samsung, when even that would anyway become obsolete in 6 months. Hence, people go for the best design and looks and the snob value associated with it.

Never mind, got it through finally. I was not formatting /system & /boot due to which ROM was not geting flashed.

Hi. I am on Jermaine's Stock Plus. Trying to flash Anthem but facing a strange problem. The ROM image is successfully flashed in the recovery. But when I reboot the phone, it boots back into the Stock Plus and not the newly flashed ROM. I did a full wipe i.e. wipe data, cache & dalvik before flashing. Any help?

Even on PC, one can use DVD decryptor to copy a protected DVD. -
4" screen with 360x640 ??? What the heck? I would ask why Nokia has launched this model at all? Click the link below for the source. http://economictimes...ow/12067117.cms

I have Panasonic lumix with 3X zoom. But if I reduce the resolution from 12MP to 3MP, it provides 10X optical zoom! Also, the Intelligent auto feature is actually quite intelligent and most of the times, there is no need to manually select the scene modes. I would suggest Sadik to look for more optical zoom, it will always be useful and HD recording should also be on the must have list. I used to have one Nikon (5-6 years ago) which had horrible picture quality and took ages to recharge the flash. So it is not only the speed of the processor that matters but also the speed at which the flash gets recharged (i.e. flash ready light comes on).

Will I buy an Apple product in the near future? NO Do I hate Apple: Again NO. But I admire Apple the company. They have become market leaders, rather trendsetters, in segments where they did not even have the first mover advantage. And still, the aam junta perceives Apple to be the creater of segments like PMP, touch phones, tablets etc. This is what I admire Apple for.

OK the photos look awesome...dslr quality. But the question remains: Why just 360x640 screen resolution, that too on a 4" screen. The 41mp sensor is a quantum leap forward but then the screen seems to be a quantum leap backwards! Hopefully they will upgrade the screen too in the next iteration of pureview models.

I did'nt read/watch that. But I can surely tell that it is Apple which is laughing its way to the bank. And that is what matters most. There is a need to ponder why Apple is able to sell despite of the presence of better (& cheaper) alternatives in the market.

Dear Nitin, My employer is allowing principal repayment under sec 80c even if the house is under construction. The condition being that (1) EMIs are being paid, (2) stamp duty/ registration charges have been paid & (3) the sales consideration has already been paid or promised to be paid, then the person will be a "Deemed Owner" under section 27 (iiia). For availing this benefit, the seller/builder needs to provide a declaration that the sales consideration has been paid/promised to be paid and the person to give proof of such payments (incl stamp duty/ registration). So I would advise you to consult a CA and if he/she can confirm, then there is no need to make any additional investments. Let your employer deduct the tax (since they are not allowing this) and later on, claim refund in the tax returns. Disclaimer: Pl do not base your decision on my advise above. Consult a CA before making a final decision. I am advising you only because it might save you from investing and thus locking in Rs. 90,000 for atleast 5 years.

Just imagine: In Rupees, it works out to appx 65500 Crores net profit in one quarter! They are present only in the Top end of the respective segments and sell at a premium even there. And still making phenominal profits. Hats off to these guys.

sgiitk Sir, Also take backup of your contacts and SMS. Contacts can be backed up from the native HTC dialer itself. For SMS, use "SMS Backup & Restore". I also take screenshots of all pages of the desktop so that I can again place the apps & widgets according to the same layout as before. I think thats it. I was also a bit afraid before taking the first plunge -
I own an LG fridge for past 8 years. 180 ltr single door model. Although LG service is good, but I won't recommend LG now. Reason is that the quailty is not upto the mark. The body is very light weight, sometimes while opening the door, the entire fridge gets pulled forward. I have got replaced the freezer door twice and also the bottle rack twice. Its not a frostfree model and whenever I defrost, the water gets spilled to the floor because the tray at the back of the fridge does'nt stay in its place and falls over.

Upgrading Firmware For HTC Droid Incredible to 2.3 Gingerbread

I flashed MIUI yesterday. The Official US version for the DINC. I'm loving it...resembles WebOS like my Pixi+. What I like: The slick UI is an eyecandy for sure. A nice change from the Sense UI, but I may revert to Sense once I get bored with this. What I don't: All apps are dumped across the desktop pages directly rather than navigating through a menu. It becomes very tedious to re-arrange all the icons. But, anyway its not a deal breaker. -

Help required. I flashed Insensitive Minimalist ROM (GB) two weeks ago. It was working fine till yesterday except a random reboot once in a day or two. But since this morning, the phone is rebooting every 10-15 mins. I have installed ET app yesterday evening. No other changes made. Pl advise what to do. ...just uninstalled the ET app. Let's see now. -

Battery life update: I do not feel battery to be any better. Maybe, a little worse than before. But my daily usage pattern is quite erratic i.e. some days lots of browsing, voice calls etc and then there are few less busy days in between. Overall I do not feel any significant improvement. -
Apple Not Allowed To Call an iPad an iPad in China, Court Rules
amtrag replied to nitink's topic in iOS (Apple)
If any of you remember, Reliance had launched a cordless phone style version of CDMA FWP in 2004 (or 2005). That model was called "I Phone". And I doubt Apple whether would have already registered that name. -
File Transfer Without Internet Using Wifi Tether Connection
amtrag posted a topic in Technical / OS related
First my setup: 1. Android Phone with Wi Fi Hot spot running (DINC with GB) 2. Laptop with wifi, connected to my phone via wifi hotspot as above. The laptop does not have bluetooth. Now, I want to transfer files between the two wirelessly but do not want to use internet, because my phone has only 1x data so it will take ages for transferring heavy files like one entire mp3 album. I googled but the nearest solution I found was to do this by connecting both the phone & computer to a wifi router. I dont have a wifi router. Is it possible to transfer files wirelessly as in my case? Pl do not suggest to buy a wifi router or get evdo activated on my phone. Or to use usb data cable ( that I anyway do as of now). -
