I read the addendum document but its not clear to me. Is TRAI going to revise roaming rates also? someone please explain what this document actually means.

I think we people from rimweb should also study the consultation paper and give our comments to TRAI. And i think Hetal bhai should take the lead because if i remember correctly he gave his comments last time to TRAI(well i remember reading comments from one shri Hetal patel). May be we can run a thread for 15 days and take suggestion from all our members and then admin and moderators could compile the points and send it to TRAI on behalf of rimweb.

Hi friends i was browsing tata indicom's website and i found that under recharge vouchers roaming rates have been increased for all pay per call, pay per min and pay per sec. Roaming rates now stand at rs 1 for incoming and local outgoing and rs 1.5 for std calls. Apart from this rs 599 voucher which used to give unlimited tata to tata calls has been modified and std is on fup of 3000 mins. All onnet std calls after that will be charged at 20 paise. This i watched for Delhi circle. Please check yourself for your respective circles and and comment on it.

You must have recharged earlier with per second voucher so you will get 1 paise roaming for one year. This tariff is applicable for recharges made after 26th feb. Even tata docomo plans to increase roaming rates after 30th may 2011. If you see under prepay roaming in docomo website it says after 30th may 11 rates will be rs 1 for incoming,rs 1 for local outgoing and rs 1.5 for std.

Well i do not think the website is not updated because it says roaming voice ans sms rates has been revised in all circles wef 26feb2011.

And how will our government decrypt AES-256 bit or higher encryption?

Hi I am using MTS in Delhi for about 11 months now. Network is good in almost all places except the basements, that is basements of shopping malls, office complexes, residential apartments and underground route of metro(both airtel and vodafone have very good network in these basements). Apart from underground areas i find network very good. Voice quality is also superb as you would expect from CDMA and i hardly remember a time when i faced call drops. However i have experienced 3 nights in the past 6 months when network was completely down for the whole night( signal was coming but i was unable to make or receive calls). But i never faced any problem during day time. To sum it up i have had a very good experience with MTS so far, call connects to all networks in time no route busy kind of stuff like rcom. I would say basement coverage is the only chink in its armor. I hope i have answered all your queries please ask if you need to know anything else.

Virgin mobile has launched rs 29 stv which gives all local and std calls at 25paise only. I have confirmed with customer care and they also said there is no FUP in this plan. source: virginmobile.in

MTS in delhi circle has launched rs 296/- voucher which gives free roaming incoming for six months. outgoing is a little steep at 80 paise though..

yes validity is 30 days.

Hello friends I had given request to port my idea number to MTS on 23rd jan. I received a sms from mts on 29th, that my number will change from idea to mts during 10:30pm ans 12;30 am on 29th. I slept early on 29th so i was able to check it on 30th morning, idea sim had stopped working but mts sim has not been activated. I took it lightly and called customer care and was told that number will be activated afer 2 hours. Nothing has happened so far i have called cc guys 5-6 times and they just keep on assuring me that it will be done in some time. So after having my number dead for around 40 hours i have called nodal officer of Delhi circle. lets see what happens, I will update when my problem is solved. And thank god its not my primary number or I would have gone mad and would have shaken the MTS store.

Airtel finally honored its word after one week, now from today morning my airtel to airtel=10 paise,other local=30 paise has been activated..

Yesterday i had sent sms for porting code from my airtel mobile and today i received a call asking me why i wanted to shift from airtel. I told the guy that local calling rates were high and hence i was porting, he told me he will give me a scheme in which rs 1 will be deducted daily from my account and airtel to airtel=10 paise,airtel to others local=30 paise and std will be 50 paise. He said he will activate this on my number but it has not been activated so far, i will confirm once it has been done..

My advice would be let her switch back to vodafone. A few hundred extra wont hurt you much and will definitely save your marriage

MNP is not yet operational in Delhi. It is expected to be by January 20.

What are carriage charges? How much its now and how much is it expected to be reduced?

MTS network is good in Delhi. I have been using MTS for more than 6 months now, best tariff(at least in Delhi) and very good network. Basements are the only places where it has let me down apart from underground parking of malls and apartments and underground metro routes the network is good. You wont get any good roaming rates and free onnet std with MTS though, but with the extra talktime which they are giving local will come at 23 paise and std at 45(that too on per second basis). I dont know anything about handset programming, so i will leave that to our gurus and about MNP i will believe it when i see it.

MTS is providing 1000 local mins foe rs 199 in all circles. So effective rate is 20 paise per min. Also if you want on per second basis then you can go for rs 150 recharge which gives talk time of 200 and local calls are 1 paise for 2 seconds so it also comes at 23 paise per min with the added benefit that std calls will come at 45 paise.

MNP was to start in Maharashtra from today. Any update guys?

Whole of India should be merged into one circle. NO more roaming and no more std charges, I know it is not a simple task but when whole Europe can be roaming free why not India?
