^^^ There are lots of free sms groups on google, e.g. cellwala. I get current news, weather updates, cricket scores, joks free thru this service, i dont have to pay anything to any one. Just need an account with google which is also free as every budy know.

Good move !! Also after MNP,, most peoples will be retaining old number, instate of taking new every time.

Why? First thing that a mobile phone is not the property of mobile operators if it is not coming with handset offers from mobile operators. Second thing that now a days all mobile phones are coming with WLan or WiFi facility. So it is easy to use fring/skype thru mobile than laptop. Thrid is that if anybody is using fring/skype thru a 3G network(not thru Wifi), mobile operator can get money from that. so it is not a good idea to block fring/skype in mobile. Technology is growing, so we also should want to live with that. I feel the same way !!

^^^ same is done by old service providers thru agents from years, mostly they may give faulty commitments. But this looks good official service !
