HTC Evo 4G to get an HDMI dock We’ll start with the bad news: according to some early stage testing done by PCMag, the HDMI output on the HTC Evo might kinda-sorta ****. While they haven’t quite pinned down the source of their woes, various TVs are all showing various issues. On the upside: it looks like the HTC Evo is getting a fancy-pants micro-HDMI docking port, making it super easy to blast content onto your TV without having stray cables everywhere. Them crazy cats over at AndroidAndMe scrounged up the shot above. That image up top contains just about everything we know so far: HTC EVO Docking Station! Coming Soon! No pricing or availability details beyond “soon” unfortunately — but seeing as the EVO 4G isn’t.. you know, available yet, there probably aren’t too many people dying to buy this. Except for I/O attendees, of course.

Apple Had A Back-Up Version For The Next Generation Iphone
::Hitesh:: posted a topic in Other handsets
According to a report from DigiTimes, Apple was concurrently working on two models of the next generation iPhone, popularly dubbed the iPhone G4 (for fourth generation rather than 4G, which refers to the mobile broadband protocols) or the iPhone HD for the increase in screen resolution and potential HD video recording features of the device. The iteration that has been floating around on the internet through leaks from Vietnam and Northern California was internally referred to as the N90 model. Reportedly, there is also an N91 model, which boasts some lesser specs, just in case the N90 model had supply shortages or in the event that Apple made serious hardware modifications that may create delays in productions. According to the analyst, "It's a parallel product to back up the N90 in case there are major delays due to significant modifications in casing, display resolution, digital camera support and so forth." Also of note is the fact that Apple had rejected the use of AMOLED and/or OLED displays after investigating the screen technology since around the time of the development of the iPhone 3GS. One reason is that there are supply constraints with AMOLED screens, which is causing delays of the Droid Incredible and the AT&T Nexus One. Yet another explanation is that although AMOLED and OLED screen technologies offer a better display technology for images and videos, creating brighter colors and deeper blacks, the display is not as good as its LCD counterpart for rendering text. According to an analyst, "With Apple quite keen on pushing e-reading businesses, AMOLED may not be the best solution at the moment." Text has been an important element with the iPhone 4.0 operating system, which will be a major element with the iBooks app for electronic books reading and Apple in the end chose LCD perhaps based on the screen technology being able to deliver crisper text. Regarding the display chosen for the next generation iPhone, it is said that the screen used will employ the same in-plane switching (IPS) technology as the iPad, which allows for better vertical and horizontal viewing angles. Additionally, AppleInsider is reporting that another technology used will be FFS, known as fringe field switching, "which is said to improve the device's e-book reader functions." The iPhone is also said to use the Apple A4 chipset that debuted with the iPad, which is an ARM Cortex A8 chipset rather than the newer ARM Cortex A9 specifications. The reason is that the operating system must be written to take advantage of the performance enhancements seen on the ARM Cortex A9, and that won't be ready in time for launch. According to the analyst, "Since the launch schedule of the Cortex A9 processor is estimated for year's end and iPhone 4.0 is not ready to fully utilize a multi-core processor, the A4 is the most likely candidate." -
there is no solution for locking the video CD / DVD. If it is running on Player i can take composite out from player and connect to my TV tuner card and i can record it. so there is no full proof solution for this.

It looks like Research in Motion is still working on their BlackBerry Storm franchise; after having released the Storm2 last year, America's leading smartphone maker will be following up with a Storm 3 later this year and a Storm 4 in 2011. The Storm series, in their tablet touchscreen form factor, will be competing with the yet to be released BlackBerry Bold 9800 Slider, which uses a touchscreen that slides in portrait mold to reveal a keyboard. The Storm 3 will be a multimedia and gaming device with RIM reportedly working with EA on bringing some gaming titles to the touchscreen tablet phone. RIM is also said to be perfecting its SurePress touchscreen technology for the device. SurePress has been a polarizing technology for users as it is a different method of touch interaction, which requires an actual screen press--like a touchpad click--to make a selection. The Storm 4 will be focused on augmented reality, which will employ a 5-megapixel camera, accelerometer, digital compass, and GPS. Hopefully, we'll see some WebKit action with the new BlackBerry 6 operating system to enhance the browsing experience on both slate styled smartphones when they will be released. No word yet on carriers for the Storm 3 or 4, but historically in the US Verizon has been the exclusive carrier for the Storm 1 and 2. The Storm 1 and 2 are both world phones, meaning that they employ Verizon Wireless' CDMA/EV-DO architecture while being used domestically and can use GSM/HSPA for overseas travel.

Blackberry Storm 3 Coming End Of Year, Storm 4 In 2011
::Hitesh:: replied to ::Hitesh::'s topic in BlackBerry
Blackberry Bold 9800 slider to ditch SurePress, more photos surface By now we’ve all seen the many, many, many and more photos (and video) that have been leaked of the up-n-coming BlackBerry 9800 slider phone. So you’re probably not that amazed by the new batch of photos that have emerged over at The Berry Fix. However, the photographer behind this latest photo shoot does have some interesting news for y’all: the new slider won’t be using RIM’s trademark, annoying SurePress technology. For those not in the know, SurePress was RIM’s attempt at replicating the tactile feel of a physical keyboard on a touch-screen device by making the screen a big, clickable button. The technology débuted on the BlackBerry Storm, and wasn’t received well. The removal of SurePress from the 9800 could be to do with the fact that the slider already has a physical keyboard, so those that are truly fearful of The Touch needn’t ever use the on-screen keyboard, and thus don’t need the assurance of SureType. Don’t think that RIM have given up on SureType just yet. The device should be released on AT&T in June. After AT&T Verizon will get it. -

^^^ I have mention your name in my post that you and DK helped me. But there are so many handsets which are done without anyone help. No one is pointing at me but I would like to give clear idea about what me on rimweb. (as i am doing selling also) I also agree 100% about RIMWEB is the best forum till date i know. that is why i am here ! Also I am very thank full to ARUN for creating RIMWEB !! I think person who asked 3K for programing, must be a member of mobile-files.us. they are only to earn not to share. -
Please Stop Over Commercialisation Of Our Forum...
::Hitesh:: replied to dkaile's topic in Forum Feedback
I feel forum need both, But asking 3K for programing is like cheating. 95% time i don't charge any one for programing, you can ask rimweb users for the same. 5% peoples who cannot follow the guides given by me. I always give them info free then if they are not able to follow then depending of help require i may charge or may not. Most of the time I also charge some people but most of them are seller or total newB, Also I charge only Rs500 or Rs 1000 Rs 500 are for my time given to them explaining the each and every details so next time they can do it by them self. Also if some one says i am doing wrong, they have to answer following questions 1) why should i spend 3-4 hours for programing and explaining all the steps ? 2) When I spend 3-4 hrs for programing, How can I support my family ? in that 4 hr i can do some other work and earn money. 2) I have to use telephone & internet for these works, who will pay my bills ? 2) Except DK and Muffi who helped me when i was in problem ? 3) After helping so many members, how many came back and said thanks ? 4) ones work is done from next day only few people keep in touch, that too for help only. 5) Even after being one of top poster with good repo(around 200 thanks), i dont have access to TE 6) So my knowledge is not given by Rimweb. About Buy Sell:- 1) what is the use of the forum without having a imported cdma handsets ? 2) If you say I am earning from forum, YES i am earning, but @ what ratio ? 3) My rates are lowest on the forum so its like helping rimweb users by giving them handsets are affordable rates. 4) Healthy discussion about what ? should we discuss only about the rates provided by carriers ? and topic like these :- "my caller tone got activated what should i do? (i am gona die now) " Or Be a vegge like topic ?....LOLz 5) Still there are seller who only do selling put a restriction on them, even after putting a new rules they are not followed by some seller ? why ? But DK's point is valid, But I have little different view Some users are charging which is very high. they should charge for their time and net, not for the knowledge which gain from rimweb. -
