HP Launching 'Hurricane' Tablet Running Palm's OS HP is already making the most out of its billion dollar acquisition of Palm. Late last month, Palm was purchased by HP. Not too long after, amid talk that HP had canned its Windows 7 Slate, speculation emerged regarding a HP Slate running Palm's WebOS operating system. Today speculation turns into rumors as Examiner.com reports HP is planning a WebOS tablet called the Hurricane. That's right, it looks like HP is ditching the "Slate" moniker in favor of something a little more dramatic for this device. Examiner cites an inside source at HP who says the HP Hurricane is scheduled for a Q3 release later this year. It's not immediately clear if this means the Android version of the HP Slate has also been canned. Earlier reports suggested that the Windows 7 HP Slate had been scrapped but again, there was nothing to suggest the Android version of the same device was also being written off. With a new WebOS tablet planned, HP could ditch the Android version in favor of fully supporting its own mobile operating system but what a shame that would be.

Here's another thing that Droid actually does--in just 25 seconds, the Android-powered Motorola Droid with its ARM Cortex processor is able to solve a Rubik's cube. A Lego-made fixture places the Droid above the cube and utilizes the smartphone's camera to see all the action going down below. The Motorola Droid instructs the Lego robotic arms below to turn the cube to solve the puzzle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0v8pJSGi4CA

The Shack Accepting HTC EVO 4G Pre-Orders End of May It looks like The Shack, by fame of Radio Shack, is listing the Sprint HTC EVO 4G as coming soon and may be taking pre-orders for the much coveted HTC Sense Android device with 8-megapixel camera and HD video capture at the end of the month. The EVO 4G was announced by Sprint at CTIA and the carrier has demonstrated a number of cool things with the device, including support for a 4G network connection where available or 3G for everywhere else, a mobile hotspot app to connect up to 8 devices to the same mobile broadband connection, and the ability to capture, stream, and share high resolution videos on the device's Internet connection. Sprint has thus far not announced any specifics regarding the launch of the device other than that we should expect the HTC EVO 4G come this summer. Anyone pre-ordering this bad boy?
