    I have applied for Porting my existing Reliance Postpaid CDMA number XX297X5XX3 to TATA DOCOMO CDMA. Reasons for Porting - Reason is Roaming plans only. Grievances with existing Service provider - Nothing at all, coverage in MP is awesome & congestion is NIL Benefits that I see of the new service provider - Roaming Plans & Better coverage at my home town (Kosi, UP-W). Porting Experience - - Complete Application form submitted to TATA Hub @ 01/03/2012 afternoon. - Got call from RCOM retention department on 02/03, Told them to send me email with plan details, But nothing received yet. - Called R-CC & they confirmed that they have received Port out request on 01/03 1603 Hours, But I did not get any sms about anything yet. Yet to get number ported, will keep updating here. Any other important comment - I do not know why others have problem with R-CC, but I must say, I have never seen better CC than Rcom. Call answered in less than 30 seconds from the moment I dial *222. and 10 seconds maximum after I select option to talk to them.

    100% of reputed Cusom ROM makers format /system in their script (updater-script) before they flash new System. and I would strongly suggest guys to make sure that the custom rom you are going to flash will work before you format /system. In case you have formatted /system & the custom rom does not work for any reason. You will have to RUU/SBF the phone. So beware.
  10. ^^^ I have personally got 2 MNPs done from Airtel & Voda to TATA Docomo Prepaid. And both happened within given time frame without 1 issue, Except UPC was wrongly entered by Tata Guy.
  11. You must have verified UPC while you mentioned it on the form. Not while it was sent by SMS to MNP Controller.
  12. @ garry1313 Once Application is submitted by us to Port in operator, they have to send a SMS with UPC & MDN to MNP controller (MNP Interconnection Telecom Solutions India Pvt. Ltd.) & they send confirmation message (+1901) to Subscriber's number. Since Karthik got this message, Its assured that AirHell processed his application. Issue is there at MNP Controller's end or TATA's end. @sujitkumarhota If the Recipient Operator did not provide correct UPC (Port Code) than it shall be rejected for sure. This happened with me as well. I gave request for port from AirHell to TATA Docomo. The TATA Hub guy sent SMS to MNP controller with wrong UPC and my port request was rejected immediately. I had to visit them again & subject fresh application. and it was done within time frame of 7 days.

    ^^^ I would not suggest a device with Internal Antenna like Rajan Ji already did. External Antenna is must. And you can not compare Wifi signal received on Mobile Phone to a Laptop or Desktop. Mobiles are designed to consume less power, hence lower signals.

    I do NOT understand why everyone is behind iPhone. I am using 3GS on 5.0.1 & I can bet IOS is the worst OS. You can't Attach a file if you are replying or forwarding a mail using stock mail app. Even Window 6.1's stock mail (2 years back) had this option. The best part about iPhone is touch. Its the best I have ever used.

    If you don't have to copy files over wi-fi, even 54Mbps is good enough. One should give importance to ping Latency. Ethernet its <1ms, while WiFi its upto 6-10ms. Latency matters a lot if you do lot of Voice or video calls online.

    Ask your brother to get a Wireless Router with dual Antenna. Set it in Bridge AP mode. Use the 8dBi Dish Antenna as suggested by Rajan bhai. Try to have "line of sight" if possible. Settings of your router (running AirTel BB) will remain as is. Everything needs to be done at your Brother's end, except you may need to move your router to get line of sight.

    Received the Phone today. Total 3 Battery (2 Extended, 1 Normal), 3 Battery Doors, Desktop charger dock, Charger, Data Cable. Phone is real Like New. Got my number retained to OMH UIM & it rocks on Droid 3 !!!

  22. If you are not particular about HP or Samsung. Go for Brother DCP-7065DN. Price is mentioned as Rs. 12650/- on FlipKart. While I purchased it for Rs. 10500/-. Check with your local dealer. Best part is Duplex Printing (Print a paper on both sides in one go), Ethernet connectivity And multi paper feeder. Which you will never get @ this price from HP. For Bother's reliability -- Rest assured, I took more than 10k prints using Original Cartridge (Refilled it 3 times). Its new launch in India.
