Virus issue is on Most networks. I would suggest having a good firewall with Good anti-virus.

Rooting (S-OFF) means unlocked bootloader. And with unlocked bootloader custom rom can be flashed. And bootloader once unlocked will remain unlocked unless new bootloader image is flashed.

Have tried Custom ROMs on Windows Mobile. But never on Android. But Have flashed about 40 Handsets of Motorola, HTC, Samsung with different Stock ROMs. As such I do NOT suggest or recommend any custom ROM.

Remember to Erase Data & cache before & after Updating Custom ROM. Must step.

And I have seen one more issue on HTC Incredible 2, That in order to get updates your Phone must be activated & update downloaded on Verizon network. Else update don't show. But you can always download updates on PC & flash them on Phone.

Flash any Custom ROM, and when new update is out, revert to Stock & get new update.

Windows Phone 7.5 Mango is good. While Windows mobile 7 could not attract much users, Mango did.

If you have rooted & on stock ROM ---- No issues, you will get updates If you have rooted & custom ROM ---- issues, you will not get updates Most of it depended on ROM chef, If signatures and version are same you may get update alert, but updates may fail to install.

^^^ Different Phone's have different data. So make sure that its same Handset model.

NFS downloads about 100-150 MB of data. While Asphalt 6 needs whooping 525 MBs downloading it.. kapil can you share the data of nfs and/or asphalt by uploading. thats the only way i can get them on photon right now. have already bought both the apps. Bhai I have BSNL EVDO, if I upload 600 MBs, It would take a month.. but download in hour or two max. On Ashpalt 6 -> 399/525 MBs.. going upto 440, but failing & back to 399 again..

Not all handsets support ad-hoc networking. HTC incredible 2 supports connecting to ad-hoc in Verizon ROM but does not connect to ad-hoc network in Chinese ROM.

Most ROM makers are from US who use cdma. Hence most custom roms don't support the gsm part. In better words don't have support for gsm to function properly. And I don't flash custom ROM much, so can't comment. Will try one tonight.

Android Market uses Google checkout for Payment. Similar to PayPal. Hdfc VCC also works. So don't worry. I have purchased 6 apps and uninstalled 2 and hence refunded as well.

Arun if you want to try installing it. I can send you the app. NFS works on all Motorola's (OMAP). But very few models of HTC & Samsung. Purchased this & its working like a charm on my Droid 2 Global. Does not work on Incredible 2.

Chinese ROM automatically selects networks based on the SIM/RUIM inserted. It does not pop up the "Select Network Mode". If its doing that, You need to get your SIM/RUIM replaced with New one.

Check Hetal Ji's post. download full rom & copy to SD card. Flash thru Hboot. And factory reset before you flash.

Check if your battery cover is properly placed. FYI Incredible 2's Antenna is in battery cover. Make sure the Yellow contacts are clean. If above does not help, Re-flash ROM & don't use CWM to restore anything other than DATA specially on Dinc2.

VCC from HDFC Bank don't work with SnS. So Plastic MasterCard Credit Card is must.

Root Uninstaller is really good. I have been using it for long. But SD card in must for it to work.
