Reliance GSM Mobile Net Plans are not free now in Roaming?
KapilAgrawal replied to iammanuarora's topic in Data services
Reliance GSM has two Entities. 1. Reliance GSM - Smart ---- Has operations in about 7-8 circles before RCOM came into existance 2. Reliance GSM - RCom ---- Has Operations in rest of the circles other than R-GSM-Smart. So if a Smart customer goes to RCom circle or vice-versa, they are charged for Data. While voice calls remain the same everywhere while roaming on RCom or Smart. -
Irresistable Deals In Electronics, Gadgets, Mobiles, PC Hardware
KapilAgrawal replied to rajanmehta's topic in General Technical Discussion
Thru GEB items are shipped thru USPS which is similar to Indian Post & rest assured it wont reach you before 2 weeks time.. SNS option is better, I hope it would take 2-3 Days for Shipping to SNS & 3-4 Days for SNS to your place.. Also ask seller to 1. Mark Item as GIFT 2. Item Description should no where show 'USED'. Even for USED phones mention NEW. 3. Mention the Value below INR 10000 or USD 200. Indian Customs considers GIFT below that for NO custom duty. 4. Keep the weight of total package below .5KG hence you are charged only $10 as shipping.- 6,376 replies

@ Mohit 1. If display Goes off , i can get it back online with power button . ---- Please Clarify. Generally TP2 goes to sleep mode & you have to press Power button (on left top) to get the screen back. 2. can hear any thing from speaker , have to switch to loud speaker or use hand free to hear the calls. ----- If you cant hear from the Handset earpiece while loud speaker works, Issue is with the earpiece. 3. need to pull the battery out and then have to start it again .. ---- For what reason ???

Airtel's Shockingly Bad Service
KapilAgrawal replied to city02's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Well when it comes to services of all telecom operator, More or less 'sab ek hi thaali ke chatte batte hai'. All they care about it revenue by any available means. And as a matter of fact --- If they start listening to all customers, their revenue will fall at-least by 15%. --- They don't have resources & trained personal to answer all queries & understand the problem. --- Sales people (One Major problem) commit things which are different from the reality & you know the story. So its better to be aware. For AirHell, Their Nodal Officers are quiet responsive (Atleast for MP&CG). -
Hats Off to you Piyush

As Net Debt Piles Up To $7 Billion, Reliance Communication Faces Key Test
KapilAgrawal replied to KumaarShah's topic in Reliance Communications
"RIL may have to acquire Reliance Communications for telecom success: Kotak Institutional Equities research report" Press Trust of India Sunday Jun 19 2011, 11:45 hrs In its pursuit to become a leading player in telecom space , Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries group may have to acquire younger brother Anil-run Reliance Communications (RCom), a report has said. RIL's proposed re-entry into telecom sector is currently limited to broadband wireless business and it might have to acquire "one or more extant telecom operators" in the voice segment, brokerage firm Kotak Institutional Equities said in an equity research report on Reliance Industries. The report further said that the acquisition route might also not be much value-accretive, unless RIL can acquire RCom, which became part of the Anil Ambani group as part of a family settlement between the two brothers in 2005. Kotak Institutional Equities, however, immediately clarified that it was not aware of RIL's interest in acquiring RCom or whether Anil Ambani group was interested in selling the telecom venture to Mukesh-led RIL group. When contacted, both RIL and ADAG groups did not reply to emailed PTI queries seeking their comments on the report. The specific queries on whether they were interested in any deal involving acquisition of RCom by RIL also remained unanswered. Last year, RIL acquired 95 per cent stake in Infotel Broadband Services, which emerged as a successful bidder for pan-India Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) spectrum sold by the government. RIL has invested over Rs 4,200 crore in Infotel. Talking about RIL's re-entry into telecom with this BWA licence, Kotak report said that RIL "will have to contend with well-entrenched players and a small (but growing data market." "We are not too sure about the economics of a standalone BWA business. Also, RIL may have to prepare a strategy for voice, which may involve acquiring one or more extand telecom operators," the report noted. The report said that it also doubted that an entry into telecom through acquisition was going to create much value. "The telecom landspace is quite competitive, regulations are becoming increasingly hostile and Reliance Communications' existing brand presence may confuse potential subscribers unless RIL can acquire RCom," it said. Kotak Institutional Equities added: "We do not know if RIL has any interest in acquiring RCom or RCom's major shareholder has any interest in sharing RCom to RIL." The promoters Anil Ambani group own 67.86 per cent stake in RCom, while the remaining shares are spread among FIIs, domestic institutional investors and others. The Ambanis-promoted conglomerate ventured into telecom when both brothers were together in unified Reliance group. The telecom business went to Anil after a division of the group between two brothers, although Mukesh has been credited for setting-up of telecom business year-after-year in RIL's annual reports till as recently as in 2009-10. " Mukesh Ambani had set up one of the largest and most complex information and communications technology initiative in the world in the form of Reliance Infocomm (now Reliance Communications," RIL said in its annual report for 2009-10. However, the annual report for the latest fiscal 2010-11 has no mention of this credit, although it talks about the group's proposed broadband telecom business. Earlier this month, Mukesh Ambani said at RIL's AGM that the group would develop its broadband business plans over the next three to five years and currently it was in the process of conceptualising the products and services. He also named broadband business as one of the focus areas for RIL group going forward. The Kotak report said that RIL's previous telecom foray has not been very successful and blamed it partly on the lesser focus on the business at a critical time of growth in the industry, due to the group's long-drawn split in 2005-06. It also said that RIL has been very conservative with its acquisition strategy, while its overall business approach has also turned conservative after remaining "ultra aggressive" in the 1980s and 1990s. The report also noted that RIL needed to improve its corporate governance practices, significantly enhance its disclosures and simplify its corporate and organisational structure to help investors take a more informed view. The Kotak report also called for change in RIL's business model and approach for creating shareholder value and observed that the power sector no more appeared a priority growth area and the investment in retail business were below targets. The detailed queries emailed to RIL remained unanswered on these observations made in the Kotak report. -

I can understand. coz I had to opt Vodafone to use BB9530 in Jabalpur.
-
@Deepak Try BIS activated SIM from other Mumbai operators. It should work. I know the problem coz I have experienced it.
-
Its Network issue & not handset's. 9650 is a new handset & for BIS to work, Operators must upload Handset profile onto their Servers. Networks in Delhi-NCR are most updated & all BB work there. The same thing happened with me in MP with BB9530, it was not working in Jabalpur with AirTel while Working nice in Agra while roaming.

As Net Debt Piles Up To $7 Billion, Reliance Communication Faces Key Test
KapilAgrawal replied to KumaarShah's topic in Reliance Communications
--- Mansoon 501 offer was a Huge marketing success. No one has ever gained so much of mouth marketing like RIM did at that time. Even today a Rickshaw man has a RCDMA. --- They already had 6-7 GSM licences going on as RTL before they launched RIM. That obviously made them take PAN-India GSM licence. --- 90% of Handsets supplied by Reliance are no good & the Prices for good ones are too high. And HCC which is a big failure. Web-World people don't help much. Hence earlier it was not easy to change Handsets. While GSM just take out SIM & place into other Handset. --- Out of Imported Handsets 75% are still not officially registered ( I have 5 out of which only 1 is registered). Which mostly causes Call Drops, Hence loss of High ARPU Customers. --- Data Plans are no Doubt Expensive as compared to Others or RGSM. --- They have not introduced any new Postpaid Plan since a Year or two. Last I remember were Simple Plans. No Add-on packs for Postpaid & if any, are too too expensive. --- For Prepaid, common issues like VAS activation without consent, unreasonable balance deduction. --- Most Important ---- Website shows something while Bills say totally different. --- For CC, I have used AirTel (Prepaid) & RCDMA (Postpay) both for over 7 Year. Airtel s**ks big time, Only Email to Nodal Officer works. For RCOM, if you are a high ARPU customer (Platinum, Gold Customers), things will work out else NO WAY. Reliance has lost dues to its policies & like earlier many have said 'Sleeping Executives'. Market has changed, People want flexibility & Tempting Plans & Packs. Everybody ain't like us (Rimweb Members) looking around how to Make things work... -
As per Reliance Website, If a customer has 2G MobileNet Plans active, they will not be able to enjoy 3G speeds unless they explicitly subscribe for the plan. But in reality if you use or get 3G speed with MobileNet Plans active, Rest assured you are going to get a Everest bill on your face from Reliance. This has happened with me.

Applied for Porting from AirHell to Docomo on 13/05. Rcvd SMS on 14th saying "Request rejected due to UPC mismatch". Called Docomo CC, Checked the UPC. Found it was wrongly entered by the Local Docomo office Guys. Got it corrected on 14th Itself. They issued me New SIM for 'free'. And 20th Night got my number finally ported to Docomo within 2 hours after regular followups with Airtel Nodal officer by email. Airtel CC disconnects the call as you tell they for 'Port Out'. All calls & SMS working.
