If the GSM network in too much fluctuating on Chinese ROM than phone will go in deep sleep and will neither charge or switch off/on unless you do a battery pull. If you wish to use GSM, use Verizon ROM with Chinese Radio.

Let me clarify about S-OFF first --- HTCdev Bootloader unlock --- Its unlocked S-ON. Means you can flash recovery, system, data & cache partitions. Can not modify boot, hboot. Revolutionary S-OFF / Engineering S-OFF --- Its S-OFF. Means you can flash recovery, system, data, cache, boot. and normally hboot is not updated since the version number is engineered hboot is much higher than hboot of ROM. XTC Clip S-OFF / Wire Trick S-OFF -- Its true S-OFF. Means you can flash recovery, system, data, cache, boot. and hboot can be updated and will remain S-OFF. Version number of S-OFF hboot remains the same. Hence the best. unlocked S-ON does not change anything nor does the ROM flashing. Do the wire trick S-OFF and see for yourself.

Depends on which hboot you are. If you are above 1.40, than data would be lost in all cases. S-OFF @ hboot 1.50 & 1.58 is really tricky and might result in bricking of phone.

Nothing would happen. But if you try to S-OFF after you are on ICS, you will loose everything. Everything would be reset to Original including the SPC.

I would suggest you to remove the check from "auto updates/auto check" feature. In settings > about phone > system update to disable auto checking for updates. Also you can flash custom recovery to above OTA. Updates will download but not flash. -- Sent from Moto Droid 3 on TATA CDMA -

Unless you have XTC Clip, there is no way you can use UKB CDMA or Chinese ICS. Porting won't resolve anything. Developer would still need CDMA STK and Kernel from CT rom if data on cdma card is required. Issue is with partitions and hboot not supporting new partitions. To use this you need to be on fresh install of 3.06.1401.5 If you are on Chinese ROM 3.06.1401.0, do system update -- 9 MB (3.06.1401.3) & 25 MB (3.06.1401.5). Do Not install the ICS update. If you previously removed Chinese Apps on version 3.06.1401.0 & try to do OTA, your phone will not accept it and this method will NOT work. New ZIP's --- https://docs.google.com/open?id=0Bx7Rs6bpBt-Fa2dKbS1GY0ZObXM https://docs.google.com/open?id=0Bx7Rs6bpBt-FRGdzcXBoUEhOMkU Extract "For PC.zip" to PC and "For SDCard.zip" to root of SD card. Follow the instructions clearly. Most important --- manually Start Recovery without restarting the Phone from fastboot mode. Select Bootloader -> Recovery. Make sure you do not have any PG32IMG.zip on your SD card or your phone will start reading the RUU zip. -

You are right. EVDO works. But its charged if you are using any plan less than Rs. 100 means 250 MB @ 100. 95 @ 4.5 GB does not work with this login /pw -
