Reliance is ready for Mobile banking services via the USSD codes. Users can dial *99# code on their devices which will in turn allow the customers to access Banking services from 29 nationalized banks on the Go. The best part is that this feature is not handset dependent and will work on any device. RCOM has integrated with NCPI (National Payment Corporation of India) gateways with USSD gateways. It will be NCPI which will manage the banking menu and the flow with the banks. RCOM is said to have successfully completed the initial bout of testing across different GSM devices at Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City located in Navi Mumbai. Subscribers will be charged Rs1.50 per session as mandated by TRAI. This service will be useful for the underserved sector of mobile users who steered away from the Mobile Banking services for different reasons. Source: Telecom talk

Reliance introduces Free Paid pack, offers Unlimited Local, STD and Roaming
M.S.Rao posted a topic in Miscellaneous
Reliance Communication has introduced Free Paid plans offering Unlimited Local, STD & Roaming. The packs are now available for Reliance subscribers in all circles. The new Free Paid Pack 1 offer Unlimited Local, STD and Roaming calls from Reliance to Reliance and Reliance to all fixed line numbers. The pack also includes 30 mins/day free calls to Reliance to other network and unlimited incoming calls on roaming. Free Paid Pack 2 offer 300MB 2G/3G data apart from above benefits. Reliance has priced the Free Paid Pack 1 in range of Rs 295 – Rs 445 depending on circle and Pack 2 will cost Rs 30 extra. Both packs has a validity of 28 days. Recently, TRAI had removed termination charges for calls to and from Landline phones in the country. This has paved path for introduction of unlimited landline calling offers by telecom operators in the country. The new plans by Reliance are not attractive as it cost around Rs 445 and offer just 30 min/day other network calls. The data benefit offered is just 300MB which is also not sufficient for most users. Source: telecomtalk -

Reliance launches IPL special bonus data (GSM) offer Pan India
M.S.Rao posted a topic in Data services
After the success of its world cup special bonus data offering where Rcom gave extra data on select recharges (on specific days when India played) and credited data based on the number of runs scored by team India, it has now launched the same offer with new packaging of IPL and offers an even sweeter deal with the bonus being 3MB per run scored by the winning team. The new offering ensures that the subscriber is always at the receiving end irrespective of which team wins, since the higher score is considered when crediting the bonus data. The offer is valid for 2G data in all circles and for 3G data in the 13 circles where Rcom has 3G licence. The denominations of recharges on which the offer is available vary from circle to circle and are visible in the chart below. The bonus data will be calculated with respect to the outcome of the match on the day on which the subscriber does the recharge. The lowest denomination recharge qualifying for the offer is Rs. 45 in Kolkata and West Bengal circle which offers 500MB 2G data valid for 7 days. This is indeed a good offering and the best part is that the subscriber can get the extra data now and carry the unused portion forward to the following months by recharging regular data packs before the validity of current data balance expires. Source: Telecomtalk -
Reliance communications have declared that in the recently concluded auction it has emerged as the only operator to now possess Pan India contiguous 800MHz spectrum upwards of 5MHz. Rcom plans to use this spectrum for a large scale FD-LTE rollout. Rcom has licences in 7 circles in 900MHz band which are expiring in December 2015, out of which it has managed to win back 900MHz spectrum in Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh and 1800MHz spectrum in Odisha and North East circles. In the 3 circles of West Bengal, Assam and Bihar Rcom could not win back any spectrum. Rcom says that the 3 circles that it lost contribute to 7.1% of its total telecom revenue in India and they have accelerated the process of migrating the current subscribers in these circles from 2G to 3G to prevent any disruption of services. Rcom spent a total of Rs. 4,299 crores and has to make an upfront payment of Rs. 1,106 crores to the government before 31st March. Rcom now has more than 5MHz of 800MHz spectrum which is ideal for launching FD-LTE (4G) services, but only the newly won spectrum is liberalised and can be used for 4G. If Rcom wishes to use its older 800MHz for 4G it will have to pay a onetime fee to DOT to liberalise its entire spectrum holding in that band. In any case, they will be open to the spectrum sharing and trading deals that will come to the table once DOT finalises the guidelines for the same. Source: Telecomtalk

Truly Unlimited’ EvDO prepaid plans at Rs.449 for Netconnect+ Pan India
M.S.Rao posted a topic in Data services
Reliance has launched two new prepaid data packs for its Netconnect+ users, Rs.449 pack gives Truly unlimited data for 15 days at 3.1Mbps and Rs.797 pack gives truly unlimited data for 30 days at 3.1 Mbps. These same denominations are also available for Reliance Pro 3 users but with FUP caps, the Rs.449 pack gives 7GB data at 14.7Mbps with 15 days validity and Rs. 797 pack gives 10GB data at 14.7 Mbps and after that unlimited usage at 144Kbps. Also Rs.999 denomination is available only for Pro 3 users and gives 15GB data at 14.7Mbps and after that unlimited usage at 144Kbps. (The Rs.999 denomination is available as a postpaid plan for both the Netconnect+ Rev.A as well as Pro 3 Rev.B offering the same benefit of 40GB high speed data and after that unlimited usage at 144Kbps). Note- Since there was no plan offering truly unlimited EvDO data in the past, many users had started using Reliance CDMA OMH sim in unlocked EvDO data cards with the popular Rs.949 recharge voucher that gives unlimited calls local and STD + 3000 SMS + truely Unlimited EvDO data with free pan India roaming with 30 day validity. Since the calling and SMS features are of no use while using the sim in the unlocked data card it will now be better to use the Rs.797 recharge voucher for Netconnect+ to enjoy the same truly unlimited HSD benefit with free pan India roaming at a lower price. -
