Thats true .. especially on MoPho ,. Which i was using about 2 weeks ago when i got lgog. With stock gingerbread cdma evdo gave worst battery life and phone usedto get very hot .. infact battery temp apps used to report 49degrees ... Theni changedthe prl to local hsd as well as changedvthe ROM from stock gingerbread to pacman jellybean ... and on that battery life was awesome on EvDO .. onlyvthing i missed was usb tetheringdue to rom issues ..

Yes simultaneously Voice + Data is really killing for EvDO RevA ..

Agreed that we have not yet evolved on RCDMA as yet with sub 1Mbps speeds most of the time ... but you are not downloading movies on mobile .. you need to surf and download at the.most docments .. for videos and other stuff we have wifi .. at our home as well at our offices. ... and how much time we have fir all that ... considering that .. RCDMA is good for me .. with decent network coverage .. across india... and we do not get single provider coverage from one operator across India ..

After some guts yesterday I backed up efs partition and upgraded ota to zvc .. to my wonder data was working .. .. hence i confirm that for me data was working on ota update to zvc.

Hi guys, I am using LS970 on stock, for which I got OTA update for ZVC(currently I am on ZVB) Is anybody using it on stock ZVC update with data ? I want to confirm it before updating .. I can not afford to not have data .. Thanks ...

Dear Gurus, Still on Stock .. I will enjoy it for some more days though ( got LGOG 2days back) ... I am getting an update notification from ZVB to ZVC ... Is it safe to update to ZVC ... any observations like losing data etc .. based on yr response I will decide to upgrade or not ..

Dear Gurus, I had bought LG Optimus G LS970 from one of our sellers. Tried to transfer the MDN. Following are the steps done .. 1. Went to WW and asked to transfer the no. on new MEID. 2. Tried *228 and got message the phone could not be activated. 3. Then realized that it must be OTAF issue as i was not able to get MBAL information as well. 4. Got OTAF done from the seller. 5. Still I am not getting data. Tried *228 and it is now asking for 9 digit PIN. In short, I am screwed up now for DATA. Earlier when I programmed my motorola photon, I got data signal without OTAF. I did not use *228 at that time. Any help in this regards will be highly appreciated. Thanks You.

Hi Guys .. I have just got the phone is on ZVB .. is it safe to upgrade it on ZVC ? about 93 MB of update ..

Ok .. With help of reliance Netconnect guy i was able to get my data working on LG Optimus G. They re provisioned 1x/EvDO and it started working. Point to note .. when I was earlier using Motorola photon.. i mailed netconnect+ and they activated EvDO for me even when OTAF was not done, yes OTAF was not done. After which I was unable to see my balance, i did OTAF.

Anybody else faced the same issue ?

Waah Waah .. relief for endless CC calls and emails ... Any number for deactivation ? As it is sometimes needed for transfer of number to other handset. (they need to deactivate HSD to transfer afaik).

Have asked them to disable HSD and AAA authentication. Once done .. try to connect on 1x .. If then 1x connects ask them to provision HSD and AAA authentication once again. Please ignore if you have already done

1. Yes Indeed i did nvrestore when i was on LG1, but i think it can be anywhere but doubt if done on MD4. So i would suggest to downgrade (MD1 or below) and do it. 2. After NVRestore you should be able to directly flash MB1.

@skssha .. putting LK5 modem and enabling 1x/hdr as per kshah will definitely work .. but the process needs to be redone every reboot .. @parin thanks for starting a separate thread ... I think we can have data working on MD4 by: 1. Taking backup of working NV from LG1 to MD1 2. Update or flash MD4 3. Restore backup of NV on MD4 MD4 rather did not impress me much .. so i dont think it is worth experimenting .. so i am gonna be happy now with what i have :-) ... I have freezed the stock update software now :-) :-)

No matter what modem u flash .. NV is modified by MD1 update .. now the option as suggested by kshah would work (after every reboot has to be repeated) or you will have to restore nv as i mentioned earlier.. but is risky and you will have to come to mb1 ... @kshah ... yes the phone had nv backup somewhere probably in backup efs partition.. but i wonder when i did nv rebuild why was that not restored .. mystery ..

Ok guyss ..... so finally i developed some courage and after utter disappoint of losing "my precious" ... i went on issuing this command .. after enabling USB debugging .... "adb reboot nvrestore" This copied the backup(factory) copy of NV stored somewhere, I dont know where to my active NV. Once done .. phone tried to reboot but stuck in galaxy s3 logo of bootup. Then I ODINed the LG1 ROM. After ODIN was done ....... Phone rebooted ...... AND yes now I have NETWORK as well as EVDO without doing any additional settings..... If someone has courage ... they can try nv restore on MB4 ... but for now I am exhausted and would refrain from trying anything naughty !!!!!! :-) :-)

Thanks aboy ..... but NV contains vital info like MEID and IMEI ... i would wish to do it under guidance from expert... will let you know over this weekend...

Yes .. it is RUIM-only.. iam able to see MIN .. I dont have nv backup... Now what should i do? Worried ...

I thought NAM and PRL it reads from RUIM. it is reading from RUIM i am able to see my MIN. Actually i had pressed rebuild NV in service menu. Also i had tried FTM mode

Really messed up with NV !!! Lost Voice also ... any help is appreciated !!!!
