This is same as Tata Docomo-Loop Mobile partnership here in Mumbai. If I dont get TATA coverage it switches to loop mobile. But here I can select Loop Mobile manually .. thts the difference ... I have altered preferred network list using hidden menu in my android phone and now I have Loop Mobile preference over Tata .. though it has Tata SIM ...so i am always roaming ... Data also works fine w/o additional charges with TATA's APN ....hahah ....

This is technology problem not handset problem .. u can try with other handsets too .. it will be same .. Only in 3G it is possible to have voice and data simultaneously. On my photon 3G data and voice works at same time .. with 2g when i have a voice call ... data gets disconnected i.e. 'E' disappears ..

So.. does this mean no hopes for us .. unless motorola officially releases it for our carrier ???

Apps and OS will also be made ... with time ,,, but as of now it is real overkill....

Yes Conference does work ... tried in gsm mode only till now .. stock ROM .. 198_6 ... Add call button after picked up by other side .. press merge calls and thats it ..

Ok Guys .. since I was very much fed up with this issue .. I wanted to find the root cause ... The issue is with Phone ..... Now since Tata guys showed me that they indeed had received SMS requests from handset and there was no problem at their end .. so i tried it to single out the issue ... I installed one by one app on the phone and then sent SMS to my moms phone .. and checked it after every 6 hours ... Suddendly when I installed IBM Sametime our Corporate IM client .. I could see multiple SMS going .... But accidently many of my colleagues are using sametime on Android devices (2.3.3) but they are not facing this issue ... but I am on the photon ... colleagues have installed on Galaxy S & S2. Now maybe this is a problem between MotoBlur and Sametime .. donno ... Android is a very fast developing community where apps are made without much rigorous testing/standardisation since Time to Market is so important for it to survive ... At last Iast I am not re-installing all non-required/fun apps which are not for daily use .... Caution to all ...

I am able to do call conferencing in GSM mode ... it works fine .. with add call button ... i have done it for 4 participants. ..

1. For me the GSM Radio is best .. I am able to call where all my other handsets failed to call or voice was choppy ... With MoPho it is super... not observed any such slower convergence on GSM ... it works super ... 2. No need of overclocking, I second mujeebrehman, that even I have underclocked it to 750 Mhz .. On Stock ROM with Root and No Frills CPU control app. 3. Headset does not come out of box .. I am using Philips Headset with Mic ... Audio is just awesome from headset amd speakers both .. moreover graphic equalizer is for both headset and speaker which i have not seen with any other smartphone. .. With Philips headset audio quality is better than GalaxyS which i had earlier with its original headset. 4. Bought HDMI cable for 350 bucks after a lot of bargain .. .. Working fine with My Full HD LCD TV. But I am not able to get 1080p video on LCD .. It simply does not change resolution .. remains same that of phone ... Any workaround for that .. pLease let me know... 5. To Root unlocking bootloader isnt necessary ... I rooted it with One click root .. rooted in seconds ... unlocking bootloader .. not now .. will do after ICS stable is released :-)

Ohh yess .... Now I again factory reset the phone ... Called Tata CC a thousand times and the problem is gone. I asked Tata CC if they did anything and their reply was 'nothing was changed from their side' Now I dont know who solved this prooblem .. but it is solved .. how do I do forensic investigation so that in future we know our mistake .. if at all it is ours ???

Ok ..that was informative .. +1 for tht The problem here is that receipients receive messages in an interval of approx 50 mins .. i.e when i text once in night.. at about 10 pm.. then sms is received by number every hour for the whole night .. last time it was 12 sms were received till morning .. the other guy cud not sleep .. so the two tower thing is a remote possibility i believe Is my android system corrupt? I have factory reset the phone twice through GUI .. Meanwhile. I am struggling with tata docomo. :-(

Yes I get alerts .. but unfortunately USSD is not coming on Photon .. even then I get blank USSD alerts .. M gonaa try on a different handset but unfortunately I dont have one right now .. Will let u all knw after I test it from a different handset.

I am fighting with TATA Docomo CC but they are not understanding .... they say everything is fine from their side ....

Yeh aise time pe launch karenge .. jab woh hardware bhangar ho gaya hoga and we will be selling off those stuff .. dual core proc ke jamane me 'upgrade to 800Mhz' i see it to be a non sense .. just a personal opinion though ... May be made from second hand hardware or surplus ... who knows !!! No offenses and I respect the objective of this tab ..

One more Photon user here .... Rooted it with one click method .... V.simple ... I never had idea that it is so simple... USSD is a very big problem .... As soon as someone finds answer to this prob please let us know .. Does anyone have idea to check data balance except USSD in TATA Docomo. As usual bootloader is locked .. Anybody having experience of unlocking the bootloader and loading a custom ROM ?

I think this must be for EDGE otherwise it is very cheap ... compared to others...
