I too need help in recovering data from my 320 gb portable hard disc (usb powered)..when I connect to my laptop/desktop, the light glows on & hard disc beeps continuously beep..beep.in very low volume..Can you help me out of that ??

Lag while making a call 'problem' solved I have used following methods (with help from Kapil) one by one, so can't say, which one actually did the trick, but no harm in doing any of this method, I think. 1) Battery Pull > Insert battery > don't start handset > press volume down + power button > go to recovery > wipe cache partition > restart the phone. Nothing improved after this, then tried (2) below. 2) Battery Pull > Insert battery > don't start handset > press volume down + power button > go to recovery > advanced > wipe dalvic cache > restart the phone. Nothing improved after this, then tried (3) below. 3) Enabled 'Fastboot' in my phone. goto Power > Fast boot > enable (green yes tick mark). AND it did solved the problem for few minutes. I could make regular calls without any lag. However, after 1/2 hr same problem reappeared. Lateron, I decided to factory reset the handset & found out application to store my call logs & SMS. (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.zegoggles.smssync&hl=en). You can d/l from AM freely. there is another application by Ritesh Sahu as well, but you need to install 2 apps (1 for call logs & 1 for sms). call logs app from later, seems to have a limitation that it could only back up last 500 call records. With SMS Backup + there are no limitations (except backing up MMS, which is mentioned over there.) Also, this app does back up of both SMS & call logs directly to your gmail a/c with special lables like sms & call logs. Install SMS Backup + & back up all your sms / call logs as a first measure. Later on, copy all contents of memory card on computer (as such factory reset did not wiped any data from memory card). Note down MIN number of the handset. Factory reset by going into boot menu. Then, reinstalled the app SMS back up+ & connect with your gmail account. Then, restore your call logs / sms back. Entire process won't take more than 30 minutes. Due to lack of time, I have not been able to write this process with thorough details, but above application is very easy to use & no expert guidance needed. For factory reset, you need to be just careful, that's it.. All installed apps will be wiped off from the device once you do factory reset, data on memory card is not disturbed. This has solved the problem finally.

I would surely attempt doing it. But, is there any software available to back up my call history, sms (like in case of blackberry, ipd files), so that I can restore the same in my phone after factory reset ??

friends, I too need help for this. I have dinc2 & using it since last 1 month. But, since last 2 days, I am getting terrible lag on my call screen. When, I select any number from contact / phone book or 'call history' or dial a new number on main screen, Then, I press Call button & call gets connected only after 12 to 15 seconds. That calling screen with android pic also, comes at that time.. All other applications & functions like sms are working fine..I don't see major lag at any other issue. It is typical only for calling..I have less than 15 apps installed.. Any experience ? Any idea ? Any solution ? regards,

^^^ use apk file given in earlier post. I have installed it on my htc inc2 & it works fine. For activation, it may have to get your internet on your registered number (with icici), however afterwards it also works with wifi connectivity.. PM me, in case you can't find apk file, I shall send you the one I have..

I m not an expert on the process, but there may be ways to do this.. 1) if tab as evdo (& it is possible to activate in India) then, directly you can use it. 2) if tab has no evdo, but bluetooth, then possibly by tethering any cdma phone with evdo capabilities (techincal experts can help you here) 3) use wifi hotspot feature in few of the cdma smart phones avialble now a days. 4) to avoid all these, contact Parin here (or maybe others), who has "htc evo view" for sell. If budget & other requirements permit option 4 is the best one

I would love to get that splash screen, but not the actual rom, as I am using cdma & gsm alternately..so, swapping of sim card is not required..

Just a suggestion, if trying to make a custom rom, you can include rimweb as well as your reference in starting up the phone..I had seen this in one of the palm pixi+ phone bought from Sadik, while on startup screen, it was mentioning cellwala & rimweb (not sure about that) reference..I loved it.

Recently ( 1 week back) I have bought Samsung NP300V5A-A02US Core I5 2nd Generation Laptop from ebay.in It is one of the best product in laptop i hv come across so far. 8 gb ram, i5, 640 gb hard disc & many such things. Bought @ 30k from ebay.in It is really, good But for photo editing & stuff like that you need to read reviews of the same for from net. But, other than no graphic card, it will meet all your requirement.

^^^ yes, there seems to be the problem with individual mobile OS. I had ASUS windows mobile with os 6, which was able to connect my laptop with this ad-hoc network. However, my palm pixie plus as well as blackberry never got connected. but, I these observations are a year old & later on , I got a wifi router @ home, so never needed to do this..

Hi members, I am looking for a game console for my kid (~ 5 yrs). Would mostly require to play games withing range of age group 5 to 9 yrs. I don't have much idea about types of game that are available for different game consoles, but this Sony PS 3 (http://www.sony.co.in/product/ps3+move+bundle) looks good to me. As it has many accessories in addtion to wifi + BD player + hard disc. I just want opinion of experienced member if PS3 has variety of games especially arcade games which are suitable for kids in above group ? also, if it is possible to download games on internet & store on PS3 Hard disc & play ? as I have seen many games selling on DVD for PS3, but no idea if we can store those games on PS3. thanks.

^^^ more than 6 months back I bougth iomega ScreenPlay Mx 1 TB @ around 6 to 7k (with some discount code). so, it maybe available @ a lesser price bynow. It has 1 TB of storgae, but no wifi & BT. check out specs on (http://www.letsbuy.com/iomega-screenplay-mx-1tb-p-16229) Again, for pure movie viewing experience it is very good, except it gets very hot after 1 or 2 hrs of play (which makes one worry about hard disc life, but nothing has happend in my 6 month exp). Just you have to identify your need & make a purchase accordingly.

yes, it was in safari, but if I recall correctly, it was in Gujarati edition not in English so far.. And mostly it was about importance or rare earth materials.
