Purchased this FWP - CDMA RUIM based. Model is CT800P, earlier sold by BSNL, so it's logo is on Box, phone, manual etc. Total price paid - 1599 + 99 ship = 1698 Rs. Value for money item. It's a brand new piece. Checked working with Reliance CDMA & TATA CDMA. All features like phone / sms / data is available. Operation is like desktop phone only. Lift the handset dial the number & after 2 sec, number gets dialed automatically. receiving phone is also like desktop. Lift the handset & phone call is on. Checked with data also, it works perfect. However, drivers for Win7 are little difficult to locate. I did it eventually, so in case anyone wants let me know. Manual mention High speed data, but from initial connection speed, it sees only 1x is possible. Comes with a charger + 3 rechargeable battery. Phone works even if there is a battery or no battery in the phone. So, if mobility is not a concern, than can directly plug in the adapter & works well. Typing SMS is little confusing, due to inbuilt dictionary. As of now, unable to transfer my mobile phone contacts into this phone. Seller has suggested me to transfer contacts on RUIM (in mobile phone) & then insert RUIM into FWP. That's surely an option, but since phone can be connected with computer, there must be a method to transfer contacts from PC to this phone like PC suite software etc.. External plastic quality is very good, but in the SIM tray very poor quality plastic parts are there, so if anyone plans to use multiple cards, in high frequency should try to be careful. As it can be easily broken, due to multiple open / close operation.

In Gujarat, Baroda, there are no issues. I went there for prepaid SIM, which they issued it in NO time & in fact were ready to give 2 SIM so that on net calls can be made. They had known that I have reliance cdma. One of the exec made high sales pitch for giving me Post Paid sim as well, by giving some plan details. In fact, non only the store I visited, I knew that it is available elsewhere in city by someone else.. So, don't think immediately there is a problem.

Sugarsync can also be included here. Same way jottalcoud. I have tried many such cloud storage & space wise, Box is the best. 50 GB.

Just to check if Vote share can also be an yardstick in deciding "who should form govt", I did a small calculation with "hypothetical" situation, like below. Assume, a city of 1100 people divided into 11 zones & each zone having 100 people. If vote pattern is like above, by simple maths, we can see that Party B is the winner & have all right to rule. But, if we see vote share %, than it seems Party A is the most people's wish. As out of 100, 57% people want them at helm. However, all these 57% voters are distributed in different area, effectively giving more seats to Party B. The concept of Majority in democracy doesn't remain valid here !!. Majority of people wants Party A to be in Govt, however, Party B, which is wanted by minority forms government. Note : A & B are only nomenclature, with no hint to any party. Majority / Minority word is used in Mathematical sense, with no hint to any group.

What happens, in case there is a re-election & again there is a split verdict leading no one to confidently, claim for power ? After AAP's arrival, majority of parties are shying away from horse trading , backroom deals etc closing the door for alliance government. Can there be re-election after re-election ? Shouldn't there be a more logical approach for govt formation ? Like, any party that gets maximums %age of vote share, means, most of the people want them to form govt. However, since all these people are distributed in each area, party may not have been able to garner all seats.

Well Sir, it is your vote, your choice. But, I request people (who ever wants to rethink about that vote), that let there be a re-election & give AAP absolute majority. A chance is must & it has to be now. Keeping same tempo live for 5 years will be too tough for AAP & by that time all latest new age media blitzkrieg (demonstrated by AAP), will be blatantly copied by other parties in those 5 years, especially when they have power to rule. Everyone will have a transparent donation drives, twitter feeds, face book & what not !! AAP will become just another party with no differentiation. And other parties do have old age tricks like free this, free that & sometimes communal agendas & in that kind of complex scenario, AAP, may not be able to come to power again.. Time is NOW & there can't be going back. I am from Gujarat & very well aware of ground realities of how future prime minister aspirant has inflated a bubble called Gujarat Model, which many (mainly on tv/net etc) keeps repeating without knowing what exactly it is. So, personally not a great supporter of BJP. But that is my opinion based on available news literature & seeing ground realities in few of the places I have visited. As such, I don't support any party, as every party has good candidates / as well as bad candidates, so can never generalize. I am not from Delhi. But, believe firmly that AAP deserves a chance & in that sync, this country also needs a chance. It was enough of congress / bjp / regional parties, all making mockery of laws that they set. Reading newspapers / websites & even their nicely made website, I can never judge the ground situation, but fact is they have brought lot more transparency in political process. Kind of setting a bench mark. Also, first time, I am seeing people's direct involvement in the process. AAP has done a right job of getting into the system to clean up the system. Hope, they win with good majority in order to form government (??). At least other parties will have to get serious elsewhere about the performance / accountability etc.

Dear Friends, Issue is - Some stupid applications, getting downloaded without my permission & shows some Chinese title in notification bar. Since, last few days, this issue, is troubling me on my Epic Touch 4g (ET4G). I can't ascertain the reason for this & have tried multiple checks but no results. Attached is screen shot for one such app, which permanently remains in 'ready to install" position in notification bar. Could any one point me to solution for this ? Then, probably you are out of luck & may have to install MS product. Telling based on my experience, mentioned in PS above. Tried many google results, but eventually had to install Adobe to open that form & fill, no other pdf reader / editor were able to open that file. But, my words are only "my" experience & not the ultimate truth.. BTW : Govt can't think beyond MS & MS knows it very well, & therefore, MS has recently threatened to PSU banks to upgrade to Win 7 or 8, since they are going to stop supporting Xp. Even, publishing a study for 1000+ Cr loss govt banks likely to make due to continual use of Xp..Read on net..

Try saving MS excel file in ODF or ODS format, then you can check in OpenOffice, to see if it works. Note : Though I have used macro / excel programs / open office, but have not encountered problem you mentioned. But, if I were you, I will try such options, as you never know what works & what not. Next option is Google. PS : Even, I have observed similar problem, elsewhere. For passport application, we have to d/l a form that is in pdf & than fill it up for submission of data. However, that file opens only in Acrobat & not any other pdf program ( I have checked pdf xchange). It's probably, due to competancy issue with govt departments.

Dear Friends, Looking to buy one Desktop Phone (landline) with SIM card facility. Preference is CDMA & budget is less tan 2.5k. Should work with adapter. Battery doesn't matter if it is there or not, since use is like a desktop phone & mobility is not expected. Primary purpose is for my aged parents, who are not comfortable with basic mobile handsets. As many times, by mistakes, their phone goes into silent mode / or volume reduces to zero, speaker phone gets activated etc. Very simple problem to solve for most of the youngsters / people less than 50 age. But, both of them are close to 60 & not familiar with functions of even basic mobile phone, so a desktop is ideal for them.

How to Stop OTA update for E4GT. When, I got this E4GT, it was on 2.3.6, later on it got OTA updates & went to ICS, with that I had horrible experience of battery drain. Then, again I changed to stock ROM to 2.3.6, again it updated to OTA (yes, it asks your permission to update & we have an option to press "Later", but there is a high chance of accidentally pressing Yes & it updates). Again same battery drain problem started. then, I upgraded to Jelly Bean through PC, but problem of battery was identical as in ICS. Hence, I changed it back to GB 2.3.6 & this time disabled OTA updates by following. process is very simple & mentioned @ length here http://goo.gl/WajFrU However, in simple words, it is copying a file FOTAKill.apk into /system/app folder. Phone has to be rooted for this. File is available here, whereas system/app folder can be accessed by ES explorer. in ES explorer, you have to ensure "Mount R/W" in root explorer. Other owner of this handset may have different experience with these OS, so can't say if this is a general problem. FOTAKill.apk

I am facing this problem in HTC Rhyme purchased from this forum. Let me clarify that phone WAS in perfect working condition with reliance CDMA - prepaid, voice, sms, data including evdo. Phone was working quiet slow since last many days & hence, I decided to factory reset. (same thing I had done in past with my HTC inc2). After pressing volume down button, I pressed power button to go into boot menu. From there , I just selected factory reset & phone went into reset mode. After a while, I was presented with "updating software from verizone wireless" screen & then, when it started, it gave me a message that it is in roaming area, I clicked OK. Then, it went into registration with reliance with a message that registration with reliance is failed, kindly contact service provider. Now, my reliance connection is no more active on it & it shows a roaming signal on network bars.. Hi Friends, Need help on Epic Touch 4G - Overheating problem. Battery drains very fast. In fact after buying somewhere in April, I had to replace the battery in June/July 2013. Got original battery from a rimweb member , but issue is still same. it gets very hot while making a call of ~ 10 minutes or so, or while using data. Charging is almost daily. Eventhough my usage is very very mild, less than 10 calls / day lasting 2-3 minutes each & data for 1/2 hr with wifi hotspot. Is this a common problem for ET4G ? I am on Ginerbread 2.3.6, din't update for ICS, as it lacks wifi hotspot feature, which I regularly use.

Desire vc is good, my dad has been using for over nine months but spending slightly more you can get desire xc. More ram and processor makes this one snappier and handle apps better. Well, budget range is between 10k - 15k, some minor upward or downward shift possible, depending upon value proposition. In such case 600c is ruled out, as it is 20+ range. Now probably desire xc or lenovo a600e or probably a complete change in requirement may happen. Like going for gsm + gsm with one the the lenovo stuff. or wait for z10 price to crash below 20k (???), thanks anyways...

Hi Friends, I need to buy one gsm + cdma handset for my sis. Have gone through HTC DESIRE VC CDMA + GSM whichi si available @ ~ 14k in India. Can anyone suggest a better deal or even better alternative ? Both Dual standby is required & if possible good battery back up..
