This side is equally valid & fact of the matter is I (like may others) had a confidence on medicines by any manufacturer, even though I had never heard the name of company that made it.. Common logic is no company or individual will make / sell inferior products especially medicine, as that will have serious implication on common people & maker of those products may have to face criminal penalty for playing with lives of people..Eventual loss to makers will be far high than short term profit they can expect.. About strategy of big pharma companies to discourage SSI in pharma companies & Govt's inability to protect interest of these industry, I think it is not only restricted to pharma, but many many sectors like textile, toys, electrical/electronics item, chemicals, everywhere Govt has let down SSI by not protecting interest of local manufacturing.. If you exclude perishable items (esp food, groceries etc), go to any shop in most of the cities & more than half of the items available for sell will be Chinese. Short term cost benefit is there, but long term risk is also there. What if, (like example above for USA), after our home grown manufacturing industry is no more in existence & China decided to increase their export items prices by double or triple ? What choices will be there ? Protecting SSI / local manufacturing is not only important from employment perspective, but also a long term risk mitigation. Govt should focus more on increasing competency / cost effectiveness / minimum but effective regulatory hassles for these SSI's. But, no political party wants to do these non-glamorous activities & instead busy announcing free laptop/tablet/TV etc etc.. Discussion is endless...& has been attempted by many in vain..

^^^ It is eye opener indeed.. But, I am surprised to see that Indian Media has been totally avoiding highlighting this issue any further.. They are busy providing feeds of repetitive clips of sree420 bowling in IPL match, with his towel tucked in his pants. Satyam, Kingfisher, Ranbaxy & there are so many others who have not got caught..in India. Suppose, we had systems / ethical levels of US/Europe, then, most of our country's revenue would have been accrued by various fines on many many such companies & we never had to pay taxes..

Refer post#2 above from @kmc251 That was a great piece of information & when, I shared this with my wife (who is a doctor), it did not appeal to her, saying that any small time (alternate) manufacture's medicine can't be trusted just because it has same generic & lower cost. She also doubted that many of this low cost manufacturers may be manipulating their processes / data in order to arrive at a lowest possible cost. At first, I didn't agree to it considering the fact that Medicine manufacturing is a serious aspect & Govt must be exercising full control over it, so every manufacture is bound to arrive at certain quality levels before they can sell it into market. However, recent story of RANBAXY < which was fined by US Govt to the tune of ~2800 Cr. ($ 500 Million), raises serious concern about Indian Drug Manufacturers quality control & integrity. We can't generalize based on one incident, but IF such a reputed (???) company like Ranbaxy can resort to such malpractices, why not other manufacturers ?? ^^^ Friends, please, help. I got this ET4G a month before. It was on 2.3.6 when purchased. Everything was working file including Wifi Hotspot (it is given as Sprint hotspot). In a months time, it got updated to latest 4.0.4 & since update to this 4+ version Wifi Hotspot has stopped working. I require urgent solution for this, as leaving for travel from weekend, & surfing on laptop is not functioning.. Device is not rooted. Attached is the latest SW information..

What can be the motivation to pay almost 3 times more amount (249 vs 94) for 50% less data ?? That too we don't know if vodafone offers 3g speed, whereas reliance cdma does..

I am from Baroda & a user of reliance CDMA since last 7 years. CDMA network is very strong in most of the city limits & there is nowhere I have found signal problems. Yes, in basements of mall, parking places etc, there is a drop in signal level, but that is applicable to any network. In the periphery of the city , there is a reduction in signal power, but call drop is never an issue. In most of the city area EVDO works well, but in outskirts I have noticed 1x many times. Plans I am using is 1.5 GB/month evdo @ 94 Rs << earlier it was even better, but now it has changed. You can find discussion about the same in this forum. For datacard, earlier my company in outskirt of city, used to give tata photon+ to few employees for net on move, but after there were signal problems, company switched to reliance net connect. Sorry, I can't provide feedback for other networks, as not a regular user of any other service. I do have few other connections but use them only 1-2% of time of month, so not much experience.

@ ami1, Don't mind, but you can easily download any application apk from net. Just search "application + apk + download" & you will get the apk in one of the first 4 results. I have been doing it mostly in office, when don't want to use 1x/evdo on phone, whereas apk is required immediately, then I download it on computer & take it on phone & run. regards,

I have been using it since a month & it is perfect, as it records both parties voice, quiet clearly. I have observed that my voice is little louder in recording, whereas calling parties voice is little low. However, it is clear & we can make out all conversation. Also, it records automatically, so once it starts in background, it starts recording whenever call active on phone. It records call on SD card & format is .amr, .wav & 3gp. There are many settings to play around, but didn't explore much. Also has a Pro edition, but free does the job very well. If you want apk, let me know, but it is free on play. It has got 14k+ 5 star ratings, so one can go with the audience..

Solution Solution for finding MIN number is available - with registered BB9330 (After various trials/error, I have been able to find MIN number of new RUIM card, who's MDN number was transferred on registered BB9330). With my little knowledge of technology I have understood something, which may require validation, as I don't claim that I know complete fundamentals of back end processes (like OTAP, etc etc). 1) BB9330 was once already registered with reliance & another MDN was used on it, so while pressing ##SPC then call, I was able to read MIN number. That MIN number was associated with previous MDN number. 2) Now, while trying to call *228, call fails, since reliance network finds a valid MIN number present in the phone & OTA transmission of MIN number is not done. Hence, phone remains non-working condition. 3) After dialing ##SPC, we can manually change MIN number, but it doesn't take any random number (like 99999999, or 0000000). since system checks if MIN number is valid or not (over the air). Hence, on phone it is not possible to change MIN. A phone specific issue is possible, since I tried changing the same, after putting the phone in airplane mode (no network to read), but then also it did not allowed to change MIN. 4) To overcome this, we can use any software like CDMA WS or other to manually change this MIN either to 99999999 or any random number. 5) I have used above tool CDMADevTerm (Thanks to Kashish Bidsar for this great find) to manually change MIN number to 9999999999. MIN is a 10 digit number. 6) This tool does this job beautifully & it is simple as well. It works on 64 bit, Windows 7 as well. 7) After this MIN is changed to 9999999, when phone is started networks immediately recognizes that MIN number in this phone is not a valid one & hence, now when we dial *228001 (that's for BB), it allows to go further & sends valid MIN number over the air. So, my conclusion is MIN number is sent by network OTA, ONLY when it finds invalid MIN number in the phone. If network finds that MIN number is valid, then *228 doesn't yield any result. Hope, this helps other. I know that finding MIN number is relatively easy with Nokia cdma handsets, but unfortunately, finding nokia cdma itself is a big task (even bigger than finding MIN )

Above problem is solved 10 days back with help from our Super Seller Parin. Let me regret for delay in updating this, but phone was in non-working (for network) condition for almost 2 months, as I was not getting CDMA workshop to work with my 64 bit, W7 laptop. And I didn't want to send it to seller back, as wanted to get it done through teamviewer, so that I can see it & in future can do it again, if same problem happens. However, Parinbhai solved that problem immediately once I communicated with him again & asked for help. His communication was very clear & informed me what all needs to be installed on computer. Once, done, he took remote control of computer & done it in less than 5 minutes. Lateron, I got MDN retained on this phone @ RWW & now, it is working with all call/sms/data/evdo. Dear Friends, I also need to find MIN number for my newly taken reliance cdma prepaid RUIM card. Unfortunately, I don't have Nokia handset available with me & only Samsung Muzic and LG 6210. I am sure that on Samsung / LG handset it is possible to find this, but I don't know the code. Can any expert help me with this. My BB9330 is registered with reliance & reliance has activated it on their system, but since MIN number is not available, this phone is not able to connect to network (*333 works, *228001 doesn't work). it shows network signal also. Please, help.

other option you can explore is CLAY telecom (http://goo.gl/3RTw8) Have used their international sim card for Europe travel & it was far cheaper than Matrix, but then our company has some agreement with clay (so that could be the reason). However, you can call up them & ask for details in order to compare..

Can we exchange our imported handset (CDMA) under this scheme ? Also, do they want / require any bills also ? or only working handset is sufficient for exchange?

IDEA FOR TOLL COLLECTION BY USING MOBILE PHONE Attached idea is for expanding usage capability of a mobile phone (like internet, mobile banking, m-check etc), for TOLL collection at most of the toll roads in India. Like Express highway between A'bad - Baroda, between Delhi - Gurgaon, between Delhi - Noida. etc. Many of you who have traveled thru' this route find that there is a long queue @ the toll collection area which has many problems like (1) wastage of time of individuals (2) fuel wastage problem (3) handling money @ toll booth (4) record keeping of vehicles @ the toll booth etc. Basic philosophy is given below, but more detailed presentation is available here >>> http://goo.gl/DBb9S 1) install micro mobile towers at each toll booth at the entry point. 2) whoever travels by car / other vehicle will mostly carry a mobile hence micro mobile tower will capture that cell number & toll charges will be reduced from his prepaid balance / or added in bill of post paid. 3) Multiple mobile phones (due to 2 or more people inside the car) or car is now owned by the driver << all such issues will be taken care by instant generation of database by capturing photographs & linking mobile phone number with each of this vehicle. This idea / concept has many advantages compare to existing paper based tickets or advanced system like RFID tag etc (since in this concept common people / users don't have to buy RFID tag or any other article. Just recharging the mobile phone will be sufficient. Business potential is huge, but individuals can not take up this directly, as it is a big infrastructure thing & companies involved in such kind of business can take up this. In fact, I've been using this since last 1 year or even before, when, I noticed an icon of camera in the search bar in images.google.co.in then, one thing led to another. I have searched few images & results were almost accurate. Goggles uses the same algorithm probably..

In addition above LED doesn't have movie playback / etc etc. Agreed, features are proportional to price, so all of these models are value for money (until they stop working ) . so, mostly will go with philips. @ Amit, Yes, thanks for the info that philips may close down such business. But those are the things out of anyone's control & such a small value that too for a tangible asset won't really a bad deal. And as such warranty is only for 1 year, so problem is only for later years & with so much changes taking place in technology even everlasting companies won't be able to make everlasting serviceable products (including spare parts). We have to take chance & pray for the best.

Dear Rajanbhai & others, I am planning to buy this TV (http://goo.gl/kk2Jz) with some 10% discount. It is philips 32", HD Ready, with USB + HDMI & other 'not so great' features. Primary requirement is for TV, but also to serve as photo viewer (of digital camera) for my parents. Idea is to just buy 10 x 4 GB pen drives & load various photo albums on it & keep rewriting those pen-drives with different photos frequently. I request your advice / suggestion if this is good buy or there are some alternates nice options ?? Why I chose this, because, having 'large no of features in TV' wont' really help my parents much, since they can't use most of them, & this being low price I can take a chance.
