Broadband Wireless Auction (BWA) Results
amitnsonu replied to kesav's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
This is another nail in the coffin of 3G in India. 4G spectrum to be alloted to companies nearly 2 months ahead of 3G spectrum. It's totally waste of money and time for any operators to invest in 3G when competitors are already launching 4G. 3G can be used in your handset. Can 4G which is going to be offered also used in handsets? yes only for data, and 4g handsets are costly than 3g handsets. 4g is basically for computer users. -
thats why. I am also not talkiing about delhi, its ghaziabad (Suburb of new delhi) and I think the same relation like Mumbai and Navi Mumbai (suburb of Mumbai). and if u talk about Noida (very much near to new to delhi like ghaziabad), the rents are too high (around 15000-20000/month for 2 BHK).

News: Mts Mblaze Rates Slashed.
amitnsonu replied to SumitVerma's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
70 kBps (comes to ~560 kbps), not bad @750 that too wireless with no fup, atleast better than reliance BB+, MTS and Tata photon plus and also airtel wired BB which is now having very less FUP even on unlimited plans. In MTS offer speed will go down to 144 kbps after 15 GB, I cant imagine 144 kbps in todays time bcoz actual speed will be further low. its better to go offline rather than surfing @ 144 kbps on computer. -

The Hindu Business Line New Delhi, March 17 If you are not happy with your Direct-To-Home (DTH) service provider, you could soon switch over to another without discarding your set-top box (STB) and the dish. Dish TV, the country's largest DTH operator, proposes to launch Conditional Access Modules (CAM) in May that would help subscribers of other DTH players to switch over to the company's platform at a lower price. Inter-operability The proposed move by Dish TV, the first time in the country by any operator, could indirectly trigger inter-operability in the DTH sector. The company also proposes to launch High Definition TV (HDTV) services in the next three months. CAM is a card-like gadget that can be inserted in the STB, which will enable the subscriber to shift from the current DTH provider to another. The licensing norms of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) mandate that the STBs offered by the DTH players should be CAM-compliant or have an empty space where the card could be inserted. “We are planning to launch the CAM cards sometime in May,” said Mr Salil Kapoor, Chief Operating Officer, Dish TV. The company expects to finalise pricing for the CAM cards in about a fortnight. Lower pricing The CAM pricing would be much lesser than the current price for a new DTH connection, Mr Kapoor said. Besides bringing in a new set of subscribers for Dish TV, the launch of CAM would also bring down the cost of subsidy. Like all other DTH operators, Dish TV also subsidises the cost of hardware to an extent of around Rs 2,500 for every new subscriber it adds and recovers this subsidy over a period of some three years through monthly charges. Dish TV has a subscriber base of 6.5 million and the company is targeting to add about 2.5 million new users in the next financial year, exclusive of the CAM users, Mr Kapoor said. “CAM is an inexpensive proposition to add subscribers. It will be a good strategy to tackle competition and activate the dormant set-top-boxes,” Mr Kapoor said. Though the company does not expect to add big numbers initially, Mr Kapoor said that low cost packages and the hardware price would be an attractive proposition for customers to switch. It is estimated that the DTH industry faces a customer churn rate of over a per cent every month. The DTH subscriber base in India currently stands at around 20 million. source http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/2010/03/18/stories/2010031850260500.htm

Broadband Wireless Auction (BWA) Results
amitnsonu replied to kesav's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Yup: I m very confused here.. if BWA can be used for voice as well as data, why 3g auction held ? if this is the case, operators who invest highly in 3g auction are totally fool, they should be more concentrated on BWA auction. can anybody elaborate? like 3g, aircel again play mindgame: more circles in less money. 1) Infotel --> 12847.77 --> 22 circles 2) Qualcomm --> 4912.54 --> 4 circles 3) Aircel --> 3438.01 --> 8 circles 4) Airtel --> 3314.36 --> 4 circles -

Broadband Wireless Auction (BWA) Results
amitnsonu replied to kesav's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
what about bharti... they pay highest amount for 3g and still manage to win 4 circles. but anyway its good for Rcom subscribers, they are already lagging behind in service standard. one more business could have spoil thing more, and they realise it. -
Hi friends, I am little confused here. BWA auction are going on in India and I had read that India is going for 4G straight. can someone please differentiate between 3G and 4G. In 3G we can have video calls, tv on mobile, and high speed data then what thing remain to be covered by 4G? and what will happen to 3G if 4G also coming at same time. Please help.

R2R 20P/min Local/std Pack Price Hiked...
amitnsonu replied to KanagaDeepan's topic in Miscellaneous
Recharged with 77 yesterday and then called a local reliance number, the call charges deduct @ 50 paise/min. Ask to CC and he told that there is a new condition in 77 pack. the 1st onnetcall of the day will be charged as 50 paise/min and then all onnetcalls of the day will be @20 paise/min. I think Reliance communcation id becoming a PSU day by day. they dont bother to inform the customers about these modifications. Shame on you Anil Ambani  -
