Anyone from Bangalore who moved from Reliance CDMA to Reliance 4G? I sent the SMS to 1299 on 11th June, and no response from them until now. The customer service says that they've received the request and have not timelines when this will happen
-
Once they switch, do I know that it has been switched OR I'll be hanging somewhere in the middle guessing why someone is unable to reach me
-
Thank you. After sending the SMS for 4G upgradation, how long does it take for the old SIM to be deactivated and the new SIM to be activated?

Can I use these 4G SIM Reliance had sent me in any old GSM phone? I need this service for the next 3 months. After that, I'll buy new phone. I only need it for voice. My data usage is almost zero. -PK

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (Sprint CDMA version). I just received the sim card from reliance (they've sent it through a courier service). After going through several messages, I'm confused and have a basic question: Will I be able to use the existing phone (Galaxy Note 3 - Sprint CDMA version) after migrating to the 4G SIM from existing postpaid 3G plan? I have another phone with the same plan but, the phone is a HTC 510 Boost Mobile phone 4G-LTE (can I continue to use these phones?). Regards -PK

Sprint Note 3 - currently on Reliance - can I use it in US on travel?
papikondalu posted a topic in Samsung
Hi, I have a Sprint Note 3, which is currently being used on Reliance. I might have to travel to US for 2-3 weeks. Can I use any of the prepaid CDMA sim cards in US (Sprint/Boost mobile/...) on this mobile? If yes, is there anything I should do to get this working? I tried checking IMEI number with Straight Talk and another provider, and I am told that I have to buy a phone compatible with their network. I checked ESN/IMEI on some other website, and I am told that it is clean. -PK -
Will this imported CDMA phone work with RUIM of indian Operators?

We have a Sprint Samsung S4 mini that has a broken screen. To replace this phone, I'm thinking of taking a Samsung Note 3 (Sprint SM-N900p) from my friend who is visiting in a weeks time and use it with RUIM card. Can I directly use the same RUIM card? Do I have to do anything with the phone to make it work for voice and data? -PK -
I recently bought a Samsung S4 Mini for use with Reliance. The voice, data and SMS worked after inserting the micro-RUIM card. However, within a day, the incoming SMS stopped working. The voice incoming and outgoing calls work. The 3G connection works as usual. The outgoing SMS also works. I did a full factory reset and the incoming SMS worked again for a day and then stopped working. The voice, data, and outgoing SMS work as usual ! The android version is 4.4.2, model no is SPH-L520. Please suggest a fix to this problem Regards -PK

<please excuse me for posting similar message on some other similar thread> What is the difference between RECRUC06 series and RG series? Here is what I observed recently. Whenever, I absolutely need messaging, I'll put the SIM card in my old Lenovo phone get the messages, and then put the SIM card back in Samsung Mini phone. To my surprise, the incoming SMS works on the Samsung phone for few hours after I move the SIM from Lenovo phone, and then I cannot receive anymore messages. This switching works many times (if I give few days gap between each of these switches). Does this point to some programming that is not yet done on this phone, which is causing Rcom to stop SMS to this phone because of some improper handshake (if any)? Note: For several weeks even outgoing SMS does not work from this phone -PK

To my surprise, the incoming SMS works on the Samsung phone for few hours after I move the SIM from Lenovo phone, and then I cannot receive anymore messages. I had been struggling with this problem for several months now. Could this be due to a different series of SIM cad? Is there some programming that needs to be done (something forgotten - calls and data work well on Samsung phone)? -PK

The incoming messages stopped again. Looks like some random behavior. Any clues about how and where to start? If I insert this RUIM card in another mobile, the incoming messages work (It appears to be more of a software issue on the phone) -pK

I flashed the Sprint ROM - did not help. Did a system update - did not help. Tried not to do a app restore from Google - did not work I installed a custom ROM from XDA (only one available for this phone). It did not work. I don't know where the problem is. There were some old messages about S3 where users had issues with the default messaging app, and some of them had success with changing the messaging app. Changing to another messaging app did not work for me. Finally it worked - "did a factory reset, did not do a app restore - manually installed all apps from play store" - so far the incoming messages are working for more than a week now. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that this week extends into months I am not sure if this will help others having a similar problem. -PK

Sprint Samsung Note 3 n900p recommendations for custom ROM
papikondalu replied to pmthokku's topic in Samsung
I am a recent Sprint Note 3 buyer like you. I had KitKatKiller ROM installed, which I got from the Sprint Note 3 section of XDA forum. This works great for me, very fast, comes with a lot of useful tools. The issues I have with this ROM are some random reboots once in 10+ days, which I got used to now, and invisible text in the dropdown menu in some apps, which I had chosen to ignore given the speed improvements it gives. Waiting for a stable Lollipop ROM for this device. -PK -
How to reuse HTC EVO with different number after transfer of connection
papikondalu posted a topic in Technical / OS related
I have a HTC EVO on Reliance number AAA. Recently, I bought another Samsung CDMA phone with micro-sim card in it, went to Reliance web world, bought a sim card, got the number AAA activated on new phone. Now the HTC EVO is not active. How can I reuse this phone for another number? This not a SIM based phone ! Thanks -PK -
How to reuse HTC EVO with different number after transfer of connection
papikondalu replied to papikondalu's topic in Technical / OS related
Thank you for a wonderful explanation. I've to see what the web world guy had put as the reason for transferring the number to the new sim card My bad, I should have checked it then. I did not realize the implications ( -PK -
Hi, I had flashed my Evo 4g (Sprint) with Android 4.4.2 (team Nocturnal ROM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2713296). Everything works fine except for the EVDO connection, which is working for others who tried this ROM. Is there any way to check whether the ROM update has disturbed the EVDO setting in the handset? Note: My earlier ROM update to 4.2.2 went on smoothly without any data issues. Thank you -PK

HTC Evo 4g - no EVDO data connection after ROM update

I've gone back to Android 4.2.2, and the data connection works fine. Looks like some issue with the 4.4.2 ROM -
Google Play not opening after upgrade to ICS on HTC EVO 4G
papikondalu replied to shreesh's topic in HTC
I am using the ROM on the following thread for my daily use for the past several weeks http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1812324 Extremely fast. With speed governor settings, I am also getting very good battery life. -
Thanks for detailed explanations. I hope I don't brick my phone. I think I'll get more confidence in this procedure after the first ROM update !!!
-
Thanks for a detailed explanation. I'm wanting to flash a custom ROM for my EVO 4G. However, the following are holding me back: 1) Will flashing effect any of the Reliance settings including EVDO? Any reconfiguration needed to make it work? 2) If I backup app and app-data using Titanium backup, will restoration over the new ROM cause any issues with the App running if the Android versions/revisions change? e.g., 2.3.4 vs 2.3.5. Will restoration take care of app installation too OR should I re-install apps first and then restore using Titanium backup. -PK

I had used Sygic GPS and Evo 4G for navigation during a recent 1400km drive. I had observed that the battery drains off very quickly. Is there a way I can control the GPS tracking frequency to reduce the battery drain? The only way I could sustain was to connect the phone to the charger to have nagivator help during the drive.

MTS Launches Android Phone MTS Pulse
papikondalu replied to rajanmehta's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Some people have monthly phone bill reimbursement as a part of their salary package. That makes it a sweet deal for them because the 1500 monthly bill gets reimbursed, and the phone is free Assuming that the phone will be locked to MTS, how difficult would it be to get Android 2.2 or 2.3 onto this phone? -

Hi have a Nokia 2255 on which I've soldered the RUIM slot. In the Nokia service settings i've enabled the slot. However, the RUIM card is not detected or being used. The RUIM card is active and is working in my other phone (whose screen died yesterday). Is there a way to make this Nokia phone recognize the RUIM card? -PK

Use the BuildOS software from http://ppckitchen.org. It comes with nice instructions to *cook* your ROM according to your taste. I have been using it with my PPC6700 for a long time (currenlty, my mobile has wm6.5). -PK
