  1. For the first time, I am reading TATA paying damages that too to Reliance.. Lol..
  2. Is this something like TATA-Virgin deal?? Coz IOL doesn't have telecom license..
  3. As usual, CC does not have any information about it.. Any word guys on when will be officially launched and its price?
  4. The Spectrum Tussle - Cdma V Gsm

Yeah!! Good.. Now that what i call; 'slap on the face' of Vodafone-Airtel-Idea 'cartel'.. I think its a landmark decision by HC wherein they not only squashed the petition, they even fined them 50K to each operator.. Though, I think that fine should have been much higher..
  5. Yes, its true.. Vodafone has decreased prices marginally, only if u purchase from selected Vodafone stores.. I read it in some news..
  6. Whats the need!! Pay 3 times more for iPhone and on that too pay interest of over 30% p.a.. What a waste of money!!
  7. I disagree, Wow tariff are in for sure.. Lot of operators are looking at subscriber acquisition very aggressively including RCom.. Also, dont forget MNP is just around the corner..
  8. Now Classic has a company.. It seems Classic and FLY are brothers in arms.. Lol
  9. Excatly!! If Airtel-Vodafone 'cartel' hold RCom's GSM entry to ransom, they should be penalized.. They are just frustrated, worried and afraid that their leadership position could be challenged by RCom.. These are the tactics to oppose / delay RCom's entry to GSM.. TRAI should seriously act against these 'anti-consumer' practices, heavily penalize operators and set a new benchmark..
  10. Nice offer! I think only TATA comes up 'out of the box' offers..
  11. Idea No Longer Rocks! Why?

Idea is influenced by BIG Pan-India operators aka Vodafone and Airtel.. Idea has formed 'my gang' with these two.. Starting with Indus Towers (JV between Airtel-Vidafone-Idea), started using same language as these two (Opposing Reliance entry in GSM) and now copying Airtel and Vodafone's anti-consumer practices.. What a 'bogus' Idea, Sirje!
  12. I was so sure of this.. Something like this has to happen or else it would have been policy decision elsewhere but India.. Lol..
  13. Now finance ministry is 'aadoo taang' in between.. Our Govt. departments don't have integrated approach.. They should discuss, review, debate, agree and then announce.. Here everything works reverse!
  14. I expect price to be higher then 20K.. I Bet!
  15. I have always noticed that MTNL is biased towards Delhi.. All news schemes, technologies, 3G, etc. are always launched in Delhi first and not mumbai..
  16. The Spectrum Tussle - Cdma V Gsm

Ha ha.. GSM operators are getting desperate and frustrated by the day.. The news of Reliance GSM soft launch in Delhi is giving them sleepless nights, hence these anti-consumer move to oppose their entry.. Vodafone and Airtel have formed a 'cartel' and seem to be working together to loot the Indian consumer.. Shame on them!!
  17. I feel, TRAI is the only government agency which ensures fair level playing field.. Its a welcome move which will ensure fair practice.. Whoever pays high gets the spectrum.. I just hope that this new controversy doesn't postpone auction further..
  18. These people review a policy then announce then again review the policy and god only knows when will they announce.. I think India will have 3G when world will be done with even 4G.. High time they just auction and allocate spectrum asap..
  19. Yeah Man! Waiting for that day when I-phone unlocking will be possible..
  20. Price is way too high.. I better ask my friend to get it for me from UK.. I hope it will be unlocked here and will be able to use most of the features.. Can anyone plz throw light on this?
  21. MUMBAI: The metropolis will go WiFi in a few months from now if a public-private partnership initiated by the BMC fructifies. WiFi or Wireless Fidelity enables anyone with a PC or a laptop to access internet without having to plug in. Someone travelling in a car or a train could use it as well. However, wireless access to the worldwide web will come at a fee although the BMC promises that it will be much cheaper than the present charges. The Rs 50-crore project proposal is still in its nascent stage and tenders will be invited within a month. The civic body will take up the responsibility of erecting towers, while the service providers will pool in the funds. To get WiFi-enabled, towers will be erected throughout the city. While some will be in the city, others will be in the suburbs and the fringes. The pre-requisites such as roadmap detailing, the licensing, positioning of hotspots, hardware and software requirements and survey of the city for setting up the towers will soon be spelled out. Mumbai is taking the cue from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC)—where tenders have already been floated and where it will soon be implemented. "In Mumbai, it will be a larger scheme as the city covers an area of 437 sq km, almost three times greater than PCMC that is just 171 sq km," said additional municipal commissioner Anil Diggikar. "We do not have to spend anything, but we only have to set up the towers. The service providers will put in the money and some part of the profits they make will be given to the BMC," he added. The WiFi project has been in the pipeline for the last two years but was declared technically feasible only recently by the Tata Consultancy Services, which is also the official consultant for the BMC's e-governance initiative. The civic body had decided to go wireless last year, but it was restricted only to the BMC headquarters, 24 ward offices, four zonal offices and four civic hospitals. The WiFi connectivity is aimed at improving services and speeding up the e-governance initiative. According to officials, in the process of e-transformation of the city, a ubiquitous WiFi network is the necessity to have a strong distribution network for both, inter and intracommunication. "It will be simpler for citizens to communicate within themselves or even with the government agencies. The integrated online and service delivery will reduce the cost of interacting with the city and in particular will reduce the paper burden on citizens, businesses and organisations, including community organisations," said a senior official. "The network is compatible for all digital devices and will help plan the future digitisation of the city," he added. Cyber experts see this as a welcome move that will leapfrog Mumbai in the league of other world cities. "Initially, modern cities were known by the transport, infrastructure and other basic amenities they provided. But now, every city is judged by the internet access that citizens can avail of. If we have to be on global footing, this system will only enhance our chances," he said. However, he warned that in case of crimes, it would be difficult to trace the source.
