Here is a bad news for of Prepaid mobile phone subscribers in Jammu & Kashmir. The Ministry of Home Affairs today announced that Its has decided that no pre-paid mobile connections should be issued and existing pre-paid SIM cards should not be renewed in Jammu & Kashmir after November 01, 2009. According to the Press Release from the Ministry of Home Affairs that “The Ministry has asked the Department of Telecommunications to take appropriate action in the matter for implementation of the decision. The step comes in the wake of the reports that proper verification is not being done while providing such pre-paid mobile connections by the service providers/vendors” In some cases, a single person had been issued with multiple number of connections. The fake documents/identity numbers are also reportedly being used by the vendors particularly, in the case of pre-paid connections. This situation had given rise to serious security concerns. No dear prepaid roaming in never available in J&K , North east Assam.. only postpaid roaming is available in these circles since starting due to security reasons

Handsets are not availabe in any outlet till sunday, and sim is available in very few shops.. not full fledged launch, expected to to availabe in every part of delhi and in all outlets only after diwali.

I believe Vodaphone has already launched 8 series numbers in jharkhand and reliance GSM also earlier launched 8 series numbers in Pune. Yes u are right vodafone ws the first operator to start 80 series number in india in bihar/jharkhand about 1 month ago.

right said Mr Setu. in countries like US/UK/Canada and many other countries there is no local STD &ISD there is only local (whole country ) and ILD that is ISD In landline whole country is free to any operator anytime in with the plan like 49$ per month, but in inida, there is no unlimited plan to ANY NETWORK. but at the same thime there in USA/UK in wekdays incoming calls on the mobile is chargable, which is free in india. so at one point india is better and other its other countries are better

ok. i too faced same type of problem, 4 years bak when i tried 32k vodafone(hutch) sim in my samsung r220 handset, it automatically keep getting restarted. when i visited hutch store, they said sum handset dosnt supports 32k sim at that time, when i canged my handset my problem was resolved now you are not getting problem then its well for u, but it might be dus to sim, handset & network compatability
