should we have a 'wanted' section for posts like these? i need to buy the cheapest NEW detachable touch notebook in vashi or chembur with card payment or home delivery from any reputable website i have short listed hp envy x2 but if there is a cheaper NEW option i'm flexible. 0% emi is preferred with 0 fees if possible.
-
i suppose card payment / 0% emi implies new with warranty / pucca bill but just to clarify explictly, this is reimbursable so obviously no used items!

no dth will work in 'normal Rainy Season' so set your expectation accordingly for pixelation during heavy rains the benefit of a recorder is that you can keep watching your recordings even when there is no signal due to bad weather as long as you record some duplicates of your fav shows like we do, you'll be fine during monsoon even if a particular episode has poor quality / freezing up, you can just delete it and watch the 'backup' [repeat telecast] we have airtel and tata recorders, TS+ seems to be the best one currently my parents have dish which is quite bad with customer service so you should avoid

i've also had frequent freeze ups on my karbonn which has pathetic batery life, i keep it in airplane mode overnight to avoid complete discharging while i'm asleep and have stopped all background data access unless its on wifi then i have to charge it thrice a day! It's A piece of garbage, multitasking is a pain and hangs up a lot. Plus its got battery life poorer than the EVO OG. -

i also get 'invalid keyword' from rgsm, has anyone used the free android app: india against spam it properly formats your spam sms before sending directly to 1909 so it saves a lot of time / effort -
all indian smartphone brands with android 4+ above rs. 10 k will flop in the market since the foreign brands dominate this space so from this thread, my predictions are: Umi X1S QuadCore, HD Display For Rs. 10,500 needs a 5-6% discount Zen Ultrafone 701 HD Launched For Rs. 11,999 needs 17-18% off Stellar Pinnacle Pro Mi-535 With Quad-Core CPU For Rs. 14,990 needs 33-34% off [lowest volumes] A115 Canvas 3D For Rs. 9,999 is the only one correctly priced and will do the highest volumes among all indian smartphones this is not fancy marketing - but simple sales basics [understand your target demographic!] my guess for indian feature phones is about $100 or rs. 5.5 k above which foreign brands take over for 3g tablets, i would estimate upto rs. 7 k for 7" and rs. 10 k for 10". at the magical rs. 1 k / inch price point soon 5" phablets with 3g will touch rs. 5-6 k and get big volumes in 2014. lcd tv volumes took off once 32" was down to rs. 32 k; even led tv will become mass market at these prices [for foreign brands regardless of manufacturing locations] indian brands will have to compete aggressively on price to get traction domestically this will also apply about a year after 4g is launched nationwide [top dozen cities] another way to boost modern retail volumes is to offer 0% emi on various cards for all android4 and 4g handsets [when available] here's my usage review of the a9+ at rs. 6.5 k: http://www.mouthshut.com/review/karbonn-A9-review-ouunpsrlrr

did anyone go for this offer? http://articles.economictimes.indiatimes.com/2013-04-11/news/38463398_1_buyback-scheme-galaxy-grand-note-ii when i went to reliance digital the offers by the wholesalers were so low that they were unable to meet the rs. 2 k resale min set by the distributor for this exchange offer. here are some examples: sharp airtyme [qwerty, flash, net, email, java os] = rs. 500 value exchange offer samsung corby txt b3210 = rs. 500 value exchange offer nokia e63 = rs. 1,500 value exchange offer iphone 3 = rs. 2,000 value exchange offer all handsets were in perfect working condition and scratchless. i would be happy to pay double these prices for the handsets. what about you? it seemed like aggressively low offers since the apple ads said ANY smartphone...

where can we buy used handsets in vashi? i want to get a dual sim andriod 4 [jb] with flash
-
you can even go for handsets not in the list provided the wholesaler offers at least rs. 2 k as tradein value. they ask for bills but its not required, you just get a lower value. it must be in perfect working condition with all original accessories provided.

just add andriod stb / stick to your existing tv and you will have a smart tv for the majority of those who already have 'dumb' tvs!. i connected a micromax smart stick for rs 4500, added a mini male to female hdmi adaptor for rs 150, connected the 3 to 1 usb multi plug provided with micromax, the remote was really difficult to use unlike apple tv [mainly due to a lack of using the arrow keys to navigate the onscreen keyboard - you have to keep moving the micromax remote awkwardly and often over shoot the target key], but this problem is easily fixed with a wireless mouse and keybard for under rs 950. micromax should just sell a larger stb with regular hdmi plugs and built in sensors for their remote instead of blocking the only usb port on the stick. also they should provide a regular power plug instead of USB only. maybe like apple detachable adapters. also it heats up a lot in 5-10 min of use and becomes difficult to hold [not that you need to hold it but as a gauge of temp!]

i don't even care about voice on 4g, as long as i can get 4-8 mb/s data - my apple tv can start working over 'myfi' and i can dump my 2mb/s bb from mtnl -
Hardware Purchase Suggestion Requests
city02 replied to hiteshkkk1's topic in General Technical Discussion
i need a female usb to wifi adaptor but could not find it on google for purchase domestically i have the cheapest hp laser printer [model 10xx i think] and want to make it wireless the problem is that most articles suggest using a router / print server which cost around rs. 3-4 k while the cost of my printer was just over rs. 5 k so it did not seem worth it [it might be simpler to buy a wifi printer instead for about rs. 6-7 k] is there device for rs. 1-2 k? -
is that a new 7 series? it would be at least 2-3 x the cost of the top end fortuner! around the same budget for a 1 bhk in mumbai or 2 bhk in thane. that makes me feel good about the rs. 3 L paid for my 2004 sonata gold v6... if it gets scrathed by an auto, at least i don't get a heart attack! its nice to know there are some crorepatis in the forum congrats now you have the same car as the PM My God!!! It's a 7 series. Congrats Sumit. So you have broken the record for the highest value "hardware" purchase (Previous one was a Fortuner)

i was happy to discover a small billing glitch on tata sky: my maid accidently switched off my TS+ on the 20th while i was out of town and my balance expired on the 24th despite that i was able to watch almost 90 min of recorded programs on 27th [last night] before it 'realised' the mistake and suspended my connection. from now on. i'll always be switching off my stb if my expiry will happen when i'm out of town! actually TRAI should make a requirement that all recorders should be able to view unlimited saved content even with zero balance - only transmission should be stopped and reactivation fee should be banned since its supposed to be a prepaid...
