you get what you pay for - at that price don't expect a lot i'm still looking for a car charger for my prepaid moto...

i would avoid the GTRAN premium - it looks the ugliest and bulky also unless you REALLY need the camera if you can afford it, go for those with integrated cameras with min 100-200 K pixels when will they get MMS - a photo is not much use unless you can share it with other MMS users ...

download = bringing data 'down' to your local device from the network upload = sending data 'up' to a server over a network i think the point of the password is to prevent downloads to cloned phones ...

can't believe being CEO at 32 of a public sector!

nothing is free! you will have to pay the difference Hey we even discussed this in our marketing report! 2nd suggestion/prediction to come partly true: 1st was unbundling the prepaid offer officially (OK that was not rocket science and we wanted the Motorola to be included in the single voucher pricing) we had suggested an upgrade path for users of any handset to be able to upgrade to any other phone (as opposed to only colour like it is now) but with depriciated credit (maybe 2-3%/month). still something is better than nothing i suppose we had also suggested certified used handsets to further lower cost of entry for lower middle class consumers just like maruti has done quite successfully
-
who cares if its a gimmick if its true! many people would love to upgrade their used handsets to colour for full credit! unheard of... if only the other operators had similar gimmicks!

Disclaimer: I thought it might be interesting to get some background information on some TMCs at RIC. This is not an endorsment of any kind - just informational and its not confidential info (to my knowledge). In the unlikely event it does turn out to be restricted, we can always remove it. Since we seemed to get a positive response to our mkt project, we decided to post the material that we came across but never ended up using.

ALL phone conversations can be tapped! Its not much more secure than email as far as the operator is concerned. As far as a 3rd party is concerned (using a scanner), its much harder with digital than analog. And harder with CDMA compared to GSM.

Actually that's a fairly simple problem to solve: sender has privacy = ON tower first checks recv - if recv setting also ON, connection is private else its clear/public so both might have to set it ON for it to work. no sending of dual signals which would be a waste of bandwidth.

Now I get it! I did not even notice that icon until now... tried that but its the same as pg up/dn in IE but CTRL-HOME/END does that trick (top/bottom)
-
my guess is that they are related to encrypting your calls to reduce the chance of eves dropping not directly related to battery power except if privacy is turned on, the chip has to do extra work and will consume maybe 5-10% more power

They should allow legal betting on the outcome of elections, that would be a much more accurate predictor than any silly exit poll ... just like sports betting in Vegas.

But it will certainly happen with permission. I would fully expect anyone reporting to me with a company mobile (or SIM) to have this enabled or hand back their phone/SIM! Big brother is watching ... For personal phones, its a different matter entirely.

Ril Announces Audited Results For Yr Ended Mar04
city02 replied to Chirag's topic in Reliance Communications
When Infosys & Wipro celebrated becoming billion dollar companies, RIL has crossed the mark in Net Profits - quite amazing! Must buy stock ... BTW, the Net Profit number is inclusive of the 150-250 crore loss of Infocomm. else it would have been higher ... Assuming an annual salary of 10 crore, the Maybach is ONLY half the CMD's pay. Its about as affordable for him as a Maruti 800 is for someone making 5 L/year or 42 K/month ... -
my guess is that the bottleneck could easily be the wireless part. broadband will be wired from your set top box to the optical fibre so no interference etc the backbone capacity has always been there (even abroad) its the 'last mile' that's always the choke point its also the most time consuming part to get up & running
-
i think the cost would be at least 1,000 no matter how high the volumes for that particular handset maybe for other handsets, it could be lower ... but 50 is not realistic even for china which has 2-3 times bigger operators than RIC
