  1. GO VOTE !

Here are some good ones on the Sonia factor doing the rounds at work:
  2. Project Complete!

You all are too kind! Thanks again...
  3. Lg Phone

no pinout available but you can get a serial to USB converter i'm assuming we are talking about the FWP (RIP) watch out for that CAPS LOCK!
  4. New Look

I miss the old look & feel - I had already got used to it! :'( Unless there is a way to 'change skins' or something! I'm sure enough people must have spent time & effort on creating this new one so not to take that away from them at all... but that old one just seemed warmer and fuzzier the new one is more cool & distant. what do the rest of you think?
  5. Service Code For Lg-lsp340e

I'm assuming this is different from the default security code mentioned in the manual? i think it was 0000
  6. Review - Telson TWC 1150

wow! that thing is enormous didn't realise it until i saw the pix with the other handsets (#3?) i guess its for gadget freaks or teenagers
  7. Block Incoming Calls

Dint get you Do they sms you like any kinda advertisement actually i don't mind sms as much since its less intrusive i meant voice calls
  8. Project Complete!

Thanks! As they say - anything worth doing is worth doing well. I'm glad that others liked it - the more it circulates, the better return on our efforts. It was a 2 person team and took us about 5-6 weeks (with me almost 'firing' my team mate for waiting till the last possible moment to get started!) But that's another story ... All's well that ends well. glad to know that yahoo briefcase is working for everyone
  9. Project Complete!

Actually I've got multiple requests for this but I'm not sure I want to be mailing out a 50-page, 3 Mb file! I'm open to uploading it to something like yahoo briefcase assuming that's also not blocked from work. Keep in mind this is not an official/professional report - its for a class/educational purposes only (our sample sizes are too small to conclude anything meaningful). Hope this works: http://f1.pg.briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/galant...v12.zip&.src=bc Its a 1 Mb zip file. Hey, that just gave me a brilliant idea! Maybe we could charge Rs. 5-10/copy and use the proceeds to support this site!! Arun, whaddya say? PS: can we do anything about the list/bullets formatting (above)? it leaves too much space in between and looks weird.
  10. Paying For Atal's Sms/calls Irks Some

well at least its not a problem anymore since incoming roaming is now free! You guys think too small! That would have been just part of the agenda. I think that further power sector reform, and maintaining entry/tariff barriers to foreign competitors would have had greater weight. Also increasing FDI limits in telecom... Possibly even increasing penalties on fraud, or (for the really paranoid) how about the power to launch investigations under the guise of 'national security' into people/orgs that try to exploit their technology weaknesses without warrants from a court?
  11. World Class Customer Care

I wish it was advertising - at least we'd get some money to support this site!Actually its no more or less 'PR' than all the corp press releases and news articles we also post here in any case so I feel it was not out of line. I think it was because you claimed the post was a 'total PR spinup' and assumed she worked for Infocomm... In any case we should give this one a quiet burial.
  12. Best Handset

I think you are missing a lot of models, what about the camera phones?
  13. New Look

And order is restored to the world... Thanks!
  14. VOIP wid R-Connect

does relianceindiacall work from Oz? its just $0.12/min from the US...
  15. The Newgen Smart Phones

The motorola sounds really good: pda + camera for rs 14 K less than kyocera (without cam)!
  16. Cloning / Hacking A Cdma Phone

Again i think the key is intent. If the goal was simply to expose vulnerabilities, it should be legal. But if the person stands to benefit from that activity either financially or otherwise, it should be prosecuted. If you break into someone's house, its still a crime. Regardless of if you actually stole anything or not. Even if you were trying to prove that the home security had a flaw... Going public with the details was probably what gave you immunity against the charges but that logic is difficult to extend to other spheres of life. What if someone decides to 'prove' that airport security has flaws and tries to smuggle explosives on board to make a point? even though they might never intend to harm anyone. its quite a grey area ...
  17. World Class Customer Care

Way to go girl - speak your mind! I think that was clarified in an earlier topic - 'not affiliated in any way' or something similar was the post. IMO:I also don't think you were overly offensive - maybe it was a little unexpected at most... I agree internal communications SHOULD not be posted publicly but then again neither should hacks, cracks, cloning, etc. In any case we should have a consistent stand on all such issues. The point about more or less work is totally irrelevant since that seemed to have been made in jest to begin with (IMO). I actually enjoyed the little flame war that broke out! Keeps everyone on their toes I guess but no harm - no foul is my take on it. We'll miss ya! My first multi-quote post! Chirag aren't you proud!! PS: I badly need a spell checker - where's F7 when you need it?! If you don't use MS Word you won't get it so just let it slide...
  18. R-connect Charges

Just as a final confirmation (as if there is any such thing for Infocomm!): FWP is cheapest for RConnect (no monthly fees) Prepaid is cheaper than postpaid (for < 5.5 hours/month usage) postpaid is cheaper than prepaid (for > 5.5 hrs/mth) How did i get the magic 5.5 hrs? 200 monthly fees / 0.60 per min = 333 min = 5.5 hrs Why 0.60/min? Prepaid rconnect is 1.00/min compared to 0.40/min for postpaid so the diff is ...
  19. Multiplayer Gaming

http://paradox-studios.com/links.php certainly seems to be a connection judging by the ril & relianceinfo site links. but they don't mention it explictly anywhere which is probably true of most small subsidiaries of infocomm Low profile ...
  20. Is the free roaming incoming valid for prepaid also? in any case what are the STD rates for prepaid?

  22. Pdf Files

Does anyone know how to copy text from a PDF doc? I have installed Photoshop also but could not figure anything out in the help. Thanks,
  23. Anonymous Surfing

My company has blocked access to Yahoo Mail and also to certain other sites like: http://www.anonymizer.com/ http://proxify.com/ http://anonbrowse0.cjb.net/ etc. Is there a free site which can scramble the URL so I can goto blocked sites and check email etc? We are behind a firewall of course...
  24. Anonymous Surfing

i got to this site but could not figure out how i can get to yahoo mail from there. it just seems like any other regular search site, what am i missing? same prob with other url - as long as 'mail.yahoo.com' appears in the url anywhere, it gets blocked so the destination url needs to be scrambled for this to work
