Some annoying websites change your IE home/start page without permission. Are there any utilities to make access to certain registry entries read-only? How can one prevent such modifications? Thx,
-
Nope since that would have qualified as an 'unmentionable'! I mean the real thing (my handicap s**ks though). Yup, I love racing games also: NFS NASCAR 2003 EA F1 2002 (why is there no 2004? i want the two new tracks!) Carmageddon Destruction Derby BMW M3 challenge (an F1 mod) anything else that involves high speeds and spectacular crashes! I have done over 1,800 laps in F1 so far. Needless to say I play for Ferrari and race as Barichello so Schumi can win while I get busy smashing up the rest of the competitors. Hey I even wrote reviews on those games for mouthshut.com If anyone wants to learn golf, I could teach ya. We can use my clubs & balls (pun unintended Greens!). You will have to be available near Thane on Sundays. Golden Swan Country Club has a tiny 4 hole beginner course which is mostly empty. Yes, yes, no. Yes, no comment, yes, yes. Lets just say I'm a big fish in a small pond ...

I have never come across any petro card without any annual fees. If anyone knows of no fees petro cards please post! Also prices in Mumbai are about to jump over Rs 40/L very soon (now that elections are over) so fill up!

When high tech does not work ... go low! I had an overheating problem with my laptop & its transformer (AC to DC). I did a couple of things that seemed to work for me: - I placed the transformer on its side so a larger surface area was exposed to air - I also shifted my laptop to the left edge of my desk so the battery area was also exposed to air - Finally (and I strongly don't recommend this for novices) I actually washed my hands and then gently rubbed the hot surfaces (with my damp hands) which cooled them off the fastest!

Buddy, you must have quite a boring life if this is the most interesting thing in it! Go out and get a hobby (or a girlfriend or BOTH)! Here are some of my other interests as a guide: Cars (and I mean REAL ones not the local overpriced/underperforming crap sold here!) PC Gaming Pool/Snooker Roller coaster rides (looping metal ones, suspended, standing, etc) F1 & NASCAR Golf (Hey - I like it) and other stuff I can't even mention here!! 'You have one life to live - make the best of it!'

Remember the above are just guidelines, there will always be exceptions for people who don't fit in exactly. Thx! PS: Here are some more approx guides about accomodation, 1 RK, usually < Rs. 1 Lakh, < 250 sq feet 1-2 BHK, Rs. 1 - 10 L, 250 - 500 sq ft 2-3 BHK, Rs 5 - 15 L, 500 - 1000 sf 3-4 BHK, Rs 10 - 25 L, 1000 - 2000 sf Row Houses, Rs 20 - 40 L, > 1500 sf Bungalows, > Rs 25 L, > 2000 sf These are indicative median ranges and high cost areas like Mumbai & Delhi will be more than double the cost on average. We have avoided using the more traditional household income since the cost of living and additional benefits (e.g., salaried people) make it even more erratic.

Well then let us know what you voted for Sorry, no can do! It would violate the cardinal rule of polling: no biasing of the sample with personal preferences... If this was a casual poll for fun, I guess it would be fine.

The prices vary widely, for the LG FWP it was 650 in Vashi which is usually cheaper then Powai for everything else including petrol... there is an entire topic on unbundled prepaid prices somewhere in this forum. you can't get it with one coupon (unless you go for the more expensive handsets starting at 3,000). the handsets come preloaded with 2 coupons and the best i've see is 1,800 including 400 worth of outgoing talktime for a month. i have heard that it also dipped to 1,500 at one point but seems to have bounced back (maybe due to high demand).

Actually my only complaints with the motorola is its pathetic user interface. It does not seem big to me at all but then again I have a Kyo smartphone! The 3 biggest problems that Infocomm faced after soft launch were: Network/connectivity Billing Collections The last two are not applicable for prepaid and the first is about 90-95% resolved. So the experience should be much better for prepaid.

Actually I've been using Lavasoft's AdAware for over 3-4 months now but that only removes ad/spyware and does not seem to prevent altering of your reg settings.

I checked - its a demo version for 30 days. The full version is for US$200 or about Rs. 9,000. Since its a one time cost, its OK with me but does anyone know of the cheapest way to host a site?

Love the idea of prepaid petrol just like prepaid calling cards. It would make things a lot easier and quicker (no fumbling around for change and no surcharge for credit cards). Also great for people who get reimbursed for petrol, now they can submit receipts before using the petrol. Can't wait for it to get started. I have been using the pump in Navi Mumbai almost exclusively this calendar year. My mileage has improved by almost 10%! I'm Lovin' it!

Of course! I always vote on my polls!!

Just need some demographic info for our project. Thanks,

Thanks for your time.

You are certainly entitled to your views but we chose to break it by by decades, i.e., people in their twenties, thirties, forties, etc. So there IS a method to the madness!
-
You might be a minority but that is why we used the word 'usually'. Generally if people finish their bachelor's by 21-22, they would stay at least 1-2 years in their first job which puts them in the mid twenties in any case. In any case it was simply there as a guideline - enough people choose not to get married and many don't retire at 60 either.

Reliance Introduces First Ever Auction Facility

Not on Kyocera at least. -
The View New Posts is very helpful indeed. Would it be possible to add that link at the bottom of the page also so we don't have to scroll to the top after we finish reading? Thx,

Bought a LG FWP data cable for 350 with CD from a local electronics store in Powai but it could not work with my laptop. Both the cable and the port were 'female' so no pins on either side. Had to return it and got a full refund (which I had confirmed before buying as a precaution of course). Make sure your PC ports and cables are 'hetro'/opposites - no gay stuff allowed !! (yeah, i know - but it was impossible to resist!) The VHP and RSS can rest easy ...

Here's a good one: 'He who fails to exercise his right to vote is punished by being goverened by those less qualified' - Plato (!) The greeks had it all figured out a few thousand years ago, hope we can do the same...

Since its about your preference/theory not the reality/practice, you should vote RWW. Thx,

I know it was supposed to be only 10 questions but a couple of good ones came up. Thanks for your time again ...
