It has worked for me on my LG FWP. I don't know about FWT though... BTW, I also thought of a very creative and original title for and advertising review column/programme called: Ad Nauseum But then I found out that CNN/Daily Show beat me to it! Damn them all!!

Reliance Profits From Users Loss (4 new schemes)

Until thay can come out with an offer below 2,000 they can't compete with the unofficial/grey market unbundled motorola offer so people will continue to opt for that as the cheapest option. -
Can't believe its the last poll for our project! Feel tempted to squeeze in a couple more ... Don't feel shy about adding your employee # also! Thx for ur time.

Given that auction prices change daily that might be a lot of work! I wish we could save a search in baazee so we did not have to go through all the filters each time to check prices... But I have found out for Mumbai: http://www.baazee.com/jsp/BidForm.jsp?Trade_TradeId=25156661 this link will expire by the 26th. LG FWP serial data cable for about 100 + s&h = approx 150 delivered with 1 month replacement warranty. I may even decide to buy from this seller since (synergetics) they have 100% positive feedback: http://www.baazee.com/jsp/BaazeeId.jsp?User_UserId=20436846 Accepts credit cards and 55 items sold in the past month with 27 positive and 0 negative feedback.

Since the video conferencing infra is already in place, RWW should start tying up with IIT/IIM to offer short term executive education/management development courses online and put DirecWay Global Education out of business! I've spoken to people who are so dissappointed with the extremely unprofessional behaviour of DWGE specifically in their IIM-K course, that they requested me to post their emails as a warning to others who might plan on paying a large sum of money for these certificate courses:

http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/articleshow/631636.cms KOLKATA: Reliance Infocomm on Wednesday unveiled a new entry-level price plan for RIM pre-paid subscribers. RIM pre-paid users can now buy a trendy Nokia 2280 data-enabled CDMA handset for Rs 2,999.Earlier, RIM pre-paid users paid Rs 6,500 for the Nokia 2280, which came pre-loaded with 20 recharge coupons of Rs 324 each. Now, pre-paid users will pay less for the Nokia 2280, but the handset will be pre-loaded with one recharge coupon worth Rs 324. Along with the Nokia 2280 pricing, Reliance also unveiled new price plans on a range of LG handsets for its pre-paid users. Users will pay Rs 3,499 for an LG RD 2030 handset and Rs 4,499 for the high-end LG RD 2130 phone. Both LG handsets will also be pre-loaded with one recharge coupon worth Rs 324. All three CDMA handsets (Nokia 2280, LG RD 2030 and LG RD 2130) will carry single recharge coupons with Rs 200 talktime and 30-days validity, respectively. Interestingly, RIM pre-aid users will be able to buy the new LG RD 2230 for Rs 3,99, which will also come pre-loaded with one recharge coupon worth Rs 324. The feature-rich LG RD 2230 comes with a Hindi user interface, internal antenna, phone book and storage of up to 300 entries, polyphonic ringtones and the R-Connect option. -
You should register for free in the DA Developer Programme: http://relianceinfo.com/Infocomm/html/media/dadp.html They will provide you with the tools/support you need (manuals, emulators, etc) to build apps for RIM.

Is it true that ISP charges are less for RIP FWP than for RIM? I've been told that there is a monthly fee for RIM but not for RIP. If the fees is 200 and a FWP data cable costs 600, it should break even in 3 months of usage (I already have RIM data cable). Just trying to decide if I should switch my surfing over to my LG. Thx,

I found this very useful for tracking all Infocomm related articles on a daily basis: http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/articlelist/75160.cms This is for the entire telecom industry: http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/articlelist/13354103.cms

Pre-paid users can simply avg the upfront cost over the number of months of validity. e.g, if you paid 3,500 for a year, your monthly = 3500/12 = 292 Thanks for your time!

Installing Programs On Webworld Computers
city02 replied to gdi123's topic in Reliance Communications
Actually I misunderstood. The point about FTP etc is valid since one would expect such utilities (e.g., winzip) to be installed. I was thinking about file sharing software that is left running after the user leaves the PC. -
I have found lamination an inexpensive way to protect my handsets. Its costs about 40-50 and is always on with little holes cut for all connections. It'll protect your phone from scratches (and bodily fluids!) for about 6-9 months depending on severity of usage.

I apologise since that was clearly not my intention. I just pressed the QUOTE button on the right. If your comment has been altered in any way (since I could not make out the difference), it was not my doing. If there is a bug, someone should fix it...

Would it be possible to have a default avatar for members who have not yet picked one? An ideal one would be a thumbnail of the handset they have selected. It would look good and be informative plus they can always change it anytime. Also it would be fun to display each member's ranking based on the number of their posts - like a friendly contest... Some stats on the number of each type of members (newbies, advanced, etc) would be great in a chart form. Could we please have a new section for Classifieds where we can place Sale/Wanted ads for all RIM related products? Thx

Why not just host this site from outside the country to prevent any shutdowns? Is it too expensive?

Did you know it has an absurdly low 5 msg limit and even msgs recognised by the system as blank still count? They also AUTOMATICALLY delete NEW/unheard msgs once your mailbox is full! Thanks for your time...

Why Does My Rconnect Become Dormant Always
city02 replied to dapoedbyreliance's topic in Data services
I have an FWP (LG) and it comes with a 1,800 refundable deposit and a choice of 3 plans: 500, 1,000, and 1,500. I'm also looking for a data cable for it since RConnect from RIM has a monthly fee of 200 plus airtime charges per min. I have seen some on Baazee for about 100-200 but have no idea if they will work. All I know is that they come only with a serial adaptor and USB is not an available option. The MRP of the cable from RWW is about 1,000 + tax which seems a little steep to me. -

My theory is that the text part is for captions for deaf people like they do in TV broadcasts abroad. What other guesses do you guys have about text? -
Installing Programs On Webworld Computers
city02 replied to gdi123's topic in Reliance Communications
Its not 'illegal' pre se (there are no national or state laws governing the installation of software on PCs) but installing your own pesonal apps that remain after you leave what is a public workstation certainly violates the Terms of Service (ToS). They will most probably not allow that officially anytime soon since they anyway reformat the drives on a weekly or monthly basis. Virtually no other cybercafe type chain would permit the same since it quickly snowballs into a logistical nightmare if conflicting apps get installed and the users start counting on data on the PC which can get deleted at any time after they leave. What if another user came along and ended up deleting/corrupting 'your data'? Who do you think should be responsible? Certainly not RWW ... So its good that users don't have permission from installing whatever might catch their fancy as it could negatively impact the admin and other users also. Any company renting out its equipment has a right to get it back in the same 'state'. -
Try different sockets at your place first to confirm its not faulty wiring at your premises. Then try to reproduce problem at a different location (maybe at work or friend's home). If it can still be reproduced, take it to RWW before your 1 year warranty expires! Ask them to try to reproduce the problem and then repeat with a new charger. If the problem can't be reproduced at RWW, you have faulty wiring. If the problem remains with a different charger/cradle, you have a handset issue. Else it can be fixed by simply having the charger replaced. Let us know how it turned out.

Actually it would be really helpful if we could have checkboxes also as an option in the polls (instead of only radio buttons currently). Thanks,

Is there any way to block specific numbers like telemarketers/banks trying to sell you stuff/loans?
