wnt to know Details for RUIM. WHY RUIM?

NIL mentioned in this forum that software upgrade is available but he has deleted those posts. Software upgrade for GTran GCP-4020 is available. Only Reliance is not allowing GTran to give this upgrade. In the on going conflict b/w GTran and Reliance we customers are suffering. People in Mumbai or any others areas with nearby ASC can get it. In my view if we want to get software upgrade we have to again storm chairman’s office with complaint emails. Reliance is not purchasing more GTran handsets as well as data cards. So don’t expect an automatic solution.

My handset has developed a new problem or it might that as my experience with GTran increases I am able to discover more bugs. Web world offered me LG 7230 but for that I have to pay Rs 8000/- and give GTran back to them. I asked them for LG 6000 or LG 6130 but they refused. So I finally decided not waste another Rs 8000/- on Reliance handset. Now I am waiting for RUIM handsets to be made available in open market.

even tata has bre enabled handsets.

Has anyone tried GTran RUIM on any CDMA handset of TATA or any other similar handset?

can this handset be used as for Rconnect? i think yes, but still i think it's better to verify.

CC will get aware after few days. it has been launced officially yesterday. so wait for few days.

Reliance has only one RUIM based handset ie GTRAN. basant and you are very much familiar with it.

why don't use magitime free software for keeping record and cost calculation of Internet.

Tanveer actually windows for along time system gets slow. actually we install unrequired applications and do many other changes. intrnet also plays a role in PC slow down. i will suggest to reinstall Windows. I am having 3 OS in PC. INstalling windows after 3 months proves to be very useful for me.

gtran has single charger. travel charger can be converted to Desktop charger by connecting plastic cradle.

i think qualcomm chip used in CDMA hanset supports 140 char with wrap function and 160 without. so atleast don't expect more character SMS handsets in CDMA.

6130 is not available on WW. hv u checked any where?

Reliance network is not reliable in punjab.

It’s very hard for me to believe that someone is interested in purchasing GTran after reading reviews on Rimweb. CAD GTran has got nothing except PC Sync. I am repenting for my choice. Camera has very poor quality not worth to purchase except if you have no other option and get it at throw away price. I purchased GTran in July almost Aug. I am now looking for a possible scenario to upgrade to LG 6000 or some equivalent handset. About 6130 you are correct even ASC people don’t have any knowledge regarding PC Sync. If you are still interested in purchasing GTran send me a PM. I am interested in selling it but not now probably after launch LG 6000.

All the complaints regarding the non availability of update phone book option for GTran have gone in vain. But you can still change the phone book by using the following procedure: 1. Transfer phone book from Mobile to PC using PC sync. 2. Export phone book to .csv file. 3. Import this file to LG PC sync. 4. Load the phone book to LG phone. 5. Update phone book using Rworld. 6. Sync phone book to LG Pc Sync. 7. Export from LG to .csv file. 8. Import new csv file to GTran PC Sync. 9. Upload phone book to GTran. The main problem is LG handset, but if you have a good friend circle you can easily arrange one. Otherwise request person at LG ASC to do this. Numbers in my circle have not changed till date. I used it for 3 phone book entries and worked fine. Try this and do let me know ur experience. There is no risk; the original fine does not undergo any changes.

even ww do the same. it is similar to SIM. i am having 3 rd handset piece by using same thing. if it works on tata it's good.

Update phone book option is not available in GTran. If you search by number there is no option to save that number. You can click on call. But this is again of no use as phone does not have option to overwrite old entry. It has to be edited by you using handset or PC SYNC. I hv a good number of RIM no’s in my phone book I have designed a method to update phone using LG 2030. But by God’s grace number in Punjab & Chandigarh circle are not changing.

There are/ were many contests in Rworld. I have participated in all the contests till date. I have neither won any nor know anyone who has won. On the website winners of 1 or 2 contests have been enlisted. Have you won any contest? Do they really give prizes?

are u able to add ringtones to this handset? are there any other problems in software of this handset?

i always prefer to discuss problems with the ww head. he is really a very helful guy. others are just to wastage of time. *333 is wastage of time. if you are free and hv got nothing to do test your handset by *333. further in *333 cc in english section are little better than others.

u r required to pay full amount of new handset u want. u existing number will be swapped to that handset. for your existing handset you will get a new number by filling a new CAF form, it will be a post paid handset. with new tariffs as applicable and choosen onthat date. your new handset with old no will function according to all charges and schemes that were applicable on that date. in short your CAF no remains same. till here it was legal. u can sell old handset with new number or change it to prepaid and enjoy free internet. for 6000, 7230 pay 9999. for 6130 pay 6999. rates may vary according to your date of purchase. tanveer wait for some time get review of new models and then upgrade. u know a lot abt gtran. i am also waiting to see new handsets. this time not in hurry. can anyone post the version of new software?
